FOR AN EXTREMELY REASONABLE PRICE, COME AND ENJOY FABULOUS VIEWS OF MOUNTAINS IN NORTH CONWAY, NEW HAMPSHIRE

North Conway our get away in the mountains Location: North Conway, White Mountains, New Hampshire, USA (Walk, Bike, or Ski Through the Woods To Echo Lake State Park)

Accommodations: House -3 Bedrooms - 2 Bath - (Sleeps up to 5)

Knowing how much we love nature, I thought the decision to have a vacation get-away was going to be easy, but I was wrong. Little did I know that we had to see 100,000 houses and it was going to take a million years to find the “the right place”. Being a real estate broker for 20 years, (my husband) you can only imagine how picky he was when it came to purchasing our vacation get away. Me, I just wanted a small, very secluded home in the mountains, a place I could just go to enjoy a simple walk, read a book, have a bon fire with the family and go for a run to a close by river or lake and jump for a swim. A place for the entire family or a place just for me when I’m ready for a break. By the way………we can all use a small break!

When we first walked into what was to become our new get-away in North Conway, New Hampshire, the amazing beautiful views of mount Moat literally took our breath away! We realized that right from our back yard there was a beautiful trail, where we could walk, bike, run, snow shoe, or cross country ski through a beautiful mature forest along Elm Brook to the beach and picnic area at Echo Lake and Echo Lake State Park. At that very moment, we knew that the home we were about to see inside was already ours.

So, we invite you to come and check it out, we can assure you that if you are on your honeymoon, wish to recapture the romance in your relationship, have a date or just want to experience the awesome beauty and serenity of this 'get away in the mountains' by yourself, with your family, or friends, this is the ideal home for you when vacationing in the amazing North Conway, New Hampshire.

Imagine yourself walking, running, biking or ski to Echo Lake State Park and the trail network around Cathedral Ledge and White Horse Ledge without ever getting in your car. Return to a tranquil and comfortable vacation retreat, a full well equipped kitchen, a very nice and comfortable new furniture, outdoor fire pit, charcoal grill, and indoor masonry wood fireplace.

This home is located at the end of a very private street, in an extremely peaceful setting, but yet only minutes away from all the goodies that North Conway and Mount Washington Valley has to offer. All the furniture in the home including the beds ARE NEW! Views of the Moat Mountain range in full splendor from your living room, and dining room. Cozy up to the fireplace after cooking a scrumptious meal or go out in the backyard and make a bon fire or go out and enjoy dinner in one of many wonderful restaurants in the area.

Walk out your back door through a mature forest along the Elm Brook Trail for 10 minutes to the beach on Echo Lake, or take a run (.8 miles to Echo Lake, plus 1.2 miles if you run around the lake)

For downhill ski lovers there are Bretton Woods, Cranmore, Attitash, Black mountain, Shawnee Peak and Wildcat within 10 to 20 minutes away (driving). Snow-shoeing, lots of cross-country trails, snowmobiling, ice skating, sleigh rides, ice climbing, snowboarding, sledding, and tubing. Storyland it's just minutes away. Kancamangus scenic highway will take your breath away and it's just minutes away from the house. There is just soooo much to experience when you come to this amazing place.

A short 5-minute drive to North Conway Village, where there are the tax free shopping outlets, seasonal events every weekend, restaurants, entertainment of all sorts including live music and a playhouse, there is also a live theater.

Nearby there are four seasons of recreational activities like horseback riding, mountain climbing, rock climbing on White Horse Ledge, mountain biking along the extensive trail network behind the house, kayak and canoe along the Saco River, cross country or downhill skiing and snow boarding, snowmobiling, skating parks. We will just leave it up to you.... so much to do, or simply do nothing and enjoy the tranquility of mother nature.

DIANA'S BATHS

. 5 mile from the turnoff to Cathedral Ledge on West Side Rd., Bartlett. 200 yards of granite terraces. An easy .5-mile walk in takes you to cascading falls, waterspouts and granite basins along Lucy Brook.

JACKSON FALLS

Beside Carter Notch Road, off Rt. 16A near the center of Jackson Village. Very accessible, these roadside falls are popular for swimming, picnics, sunbathing - even weddings. The falls are created by the rushing waters of the Wildcat River, the first federally designated 'Wild and Scenic River' in New Hampshire.

LOWER FALLS, ROCKY GORGE & SABBADAY FALLS

On the Kancamagus Highway. Lower Falls is 7 miles west of Conway, while Rocky Gorge is 2 miles further on and requires a .1 mile Con way walk in. Lower Falls is right on the Kancamagus, and is a busy spot on hot summer days. It has pools, small sandy beaches, picnic tables, parking and changing rooms. Rocky gorge has picnic tables, drinking water and parking; swimming prohibited in the Gorge, but

you can take a dip in the pools above the falls. Sabbaday Falls is located 3.5 miles west of where Bear Notch Road joins the Kancamagus. You can't swim here, but the 25 ft. falls' beauty is well worth the easy .3 mile hike in.

It was filthy, seemed largely neglected, and owners have ignored TWO emails from us since arrival.

  • 1 of 5

First sight, after tripping over a deck plank that was sticking up, and noticing how completely unmaintained the yard was, was a puddle on the kitchen floor from a leaky fridge. We threw food away several times during the week because water continued to leak inside on food, and owners were aware of this fridge issue. Musty smells throughout, but especially when opening closets to the point that we wouldn't store our clothes in them-or the bureaus. There were dead bugs on most of the window sills, live and dead spiders throughout, and cobwebs literally everywhere. It looked like it hadn't been dusted in months & months-i wrote 'hello' in the layer of dust on a bureau. All of the furniture we used-from bed frames, to bureaus, to bedside tables had to be dusted by us before we felt comfortable enough to even unpack-let alone sleep there. Kitchen counters were sticky & dirty, coffee maker wasn't cleaned since last used, and the inside of the fridge was disgusting. Floors were not even well swept, let alone clean. Despite advertising new furniture, the couch was so dirty it actually felt unclean to the touch. Rubbish had to stay in the mudroom all week, and there was only one medium sized barrel, so the mudroom smelled like garbage all week.

We called owners within minutes of arrival and to be fair, they came up and attempted to remedy our concerns. They didn't want to meet or see us, just zip in, clean a couple things and zip out. They admitted the state it was presented to us wasn't acceptable, and said "we aren't professional cleaners but my wife and I cleaned." They nailed down the board, cleaned the fridge, gave us more towels, wiped bugs off sills, and picked up a little, but it was still incredibly sub par. The kitchen counters were still gross, spiderwebs were still everywhere, dust was still everywhere and crumbs were still on the floor. We spent hours away from the house waiting for remedy, and then two more hours dusting, cleaning out spiderwebs, and cleaning.

We sent an email asking for fair remedy, and got no response whatsoever. We resent the email a few days later and were still ignored.

We enjoyed the area but would never recommend this place to anyone who wants cleanliness. Being ignored by the owners is absolutely inexcusable. For that reason alone I would never, ever recommend this place. Look elsewhere.

Owner's Response: Firstly I would like to state that no communications were ignored. Upon receipt of your initial complaint, we had contacted our cleaning contractor, who was not readily available, therefore the owners personally remedied problem. Secondly, upon arrival we found the house to be clean except for the glass table, which needed to be wiped down. This was due to our contractor being forced to leave due to a prevailing storm, and did not have a chance to return to wipe down the table. Although we found the house to be clean, we went ahead and performed a second cleaning and disinfecting, thought it wasn't needed. We immediately repaired the deck plank that was slightly askew, and remedied all interior areas of concern pertaining to cleanliness; disinfecting all floors, tables, bathroom, refrigerator, and countertops as well as cleaning of sills and windows. Though we received no complaints about the bathrooms and floors, the owners felt it pertinent to ensure your satisfaction, and spent over two hours doing so. They were not simply in and out as you have stated. Again, we provided a direct and adequate response time to your request, resolved all items of concern brought to our attention, as well as other areas to ensure your satisfaction. Being in the nursing profession, the owners are well aware of the need for cleanliness, which is why they took it upon themselves to provide said services and disinfect all areas. This is merely a bogus attempt by you to tarnish our reputation in the community, as well as hinder our ability to obtain future guests. It is extremely difficult to comprehend why you never reached back out to us, upon your return to the unit after said cleaning was performed if it was not done to your satisfaction. We received one communication from you pertaining to reimbursement, which we are not inclined to honor after said guests have enjoyed their weeks vacation. Also, had you truly been dissatisfied, as you state, why would one continue to stay for the duration of the reservations, when there are other surrounding lodging opportunities? This is merely another attempt to obtain a free weeks vacation for your family, which is a direct reflection of your character. To our guests and potential guests, please do not let this individual's faltered attempt for a free weeks vacation deter you in renting our home. We have over ten years experience, with nothing but positive feedback and I assure you that cleanliness is top priority.

Beautiful spot - needed propane

  • 4 of 5

The location was secluded, no direct view of mountains from the house. Kitchen well equipped. The propane tank was empty. Contacted the owner to be told I need to replace it. Only two foldable lawn chairs outside, need more to enjoy the deck and fire pit. Wifi was a bit finicky at times. Did not work upon arrival but was fine the next day. Contacted owner by text when leaving to complain about propane tank (brand new used twice by us) and did not receive an answer.

Great House

  • 5 of 5

This house was perfect for our long weekend away. It was clean and cozy it had everything you could ask for. Much rather stay here then at a impersonal hotel. Their was a mix up the night we arrived and the owners were very receptive and took care of our problem! Would definitely come back!

Beautiful Home in Quiet Area

  • 5 of 5

Absolutely loved our time spent here! This home was perfect for our weekend get away! The beds were comfortable, the home was immaculately clean and didn't feel like just a vacation rental. It truly felt like a home. After spending a day at Diana's Baths, coming back here to grill and sit by the fire pit was perfect! I will be definitely be renting again!
