Perfect place for our vacation
Anna was attentive to our needs and prompt in answering questions. The home was clean, beautiful and suited the size of our group. The beds were super comfortable! The kids had the bottom floor to themselves, the adults had their own bedrooms/bathrooms on the second floor and the third floor had a kitchen complete with everything you need sans food, large dining table and a living room with plenty of seating. The best part was the balcony with a great view of the water/boats. There were more than enough towels (sorry we left so many to wash). When we arrived, Anna had fresh flowers on the table and cream for our coffee in the fridge. We were lucky enough to be there on two Saturday’s during the Farmers’ Market which was wonderful. The community was so friendly and helpful. The quiet, beautiful Stonington Borough had plenty for us to do with it’s lovely shops, cafes and delicious restaurants. We also took day trips to Boston, Mystic, Newport, Block Island and Misquamicut. Perfect New England vacation!
Prime location with spectacular outdoor space
My family and I stayed her for 10 nights leading up to Labor Day and had an absolutely wonderful time. The house is warm and spacious with an amazing 3rd floor deck that overlooks the water. The location is prime - overlooks the farmer's market on Saturdays, kitty corner to the local playground (which was key for us with two little ones) and is two blocks off the main drag. I would definitely book this house again!
Stonington is a vibrant small town and this lovely house is right in the heart of it. We rented for a month and very much enjoyed our stay. We were there for the Blessing of the Fleet and town parade, the FD annual lobster boil and the town festival. Nice town beach; other beaches and interesting small towns are in close proximity.
The main living area of the house is on the top floor and we loved our bird's eye view of the harbor. Don't miss the Saturday Farmer's Market (and the walking tour of historic Stonington that meets there each week) steps away from the house or the half-dozen or so restaurants and bars within walking distance. Or walk to one of several nice coffee shops or to great shopping on Water Street.
The house is spacious and well-equipped and the owner is very attentive if needed. We had one minor problem with a toilet handle and the plumber arrived within 24 hours to make the repair. Everything to love about this rental!
We plan to return.
Beautiful Get Away
This home has been lovingly cared for and maintained. The host is gracious; the location is outstanding; and the accommodations were perfect! Lots of stairs so if that's a challenge to you, this is not your place. Otherwise I would recommend it highly!
Beautiful Setting Overlooking the Harbor
The home was ready for occupancy with beds made, linens ready for use, kitchen and refrigerator clean, and living area inviting. The deck on the third floor has magnificent views of the harbor. One can look out for hours upon the water and the many boats. Very quickly you feel as if you have truly "gotten away." Great restaurants within minutes as well as shops. The town is wonderful to walk through including the side streets which reflect the quaintness that defines Stonington Borough. One drawback is the two flights of stairs up to the top floor where the kitchen and living area are. Second flight is pretty steep with less than "deep" steps - reflective of he architecture in the 1800s. We were careful, particularly in descending, taking them slowly. Other than that, a beautiful spot for getting away!
Wonderful house in a great location
Eight of us stayed in this house and we never felt cramped. The beds were comfortable and there were plenty of bathrooms for all. We loved the third floor living space as it has a wonderful view of the ocean. I worried about there only being two parking spaces in front, but there were plenty more a very short walk away. The house is in a great location, close to restaurants, Mystic, New London and Groton. And Stonington is a beautiful walk friendly town.
This is a true 'Borough' location. The Townhouse is within walking distance to 6 popular restaurants, as well as the beach, the lighthouse, and Stonington's wonderful shops (not just antiques anymore). In fact, our favorite restaurant (less than 2 blocks away) is one of the most popular in the county. With people traveling 45 minutes to dine there, our only complaint is the long wait for a table. If you haven't visited the Borough you're in for a treat. Nestled on a small peninsula, the village had a thriving fishing industry in the 1800's; hence it boasts many grand old homes. Now, an avid sailing community, and Connecticut’s last surviving fishing village, it has the perfect balance of both year rounders and summer vacationers. Everything one needs is within walking distance; fabulous restaurants, antique stores, and clothing boutiques. The new playground can be viewed from our deck!
