Having stayed at this apartment now on three or four occasions speaks for itself.
The condo is bright always clean and in a quieter part of Waikiki.
It is conveniently located and very accessible to the excellent bus services that service the whole island. The condo is very well equipped and the owner is very attentive to any issues that arise during a stay. The condo has recently been given a facelift.
The condo is located in would famous Waikiki, just a few blocks from the beach, zoo and all the restaurants. On quiet street, you are able to enjoy the beautiful views of diamond head, and occasionally hear the monkeys from the zoo!(not loud enough to be woken by!) Keith is great and was fast to any needs them at came up. Was there for 2 months and it started feeling like home. Thanks Keith!
Staying at a condo as comfortable as this one was a pleasure and would highly recommend it to anyone. The condo is bright, clean, quiet, cheerful and modernly decorated. The king size bed is comfortable and the bedroom is huge. As the shower and sink areas are in separate rooms it is easier to get ready in the morning. Having the totally secure parking so close to the condo made it easy to haul things like golf clubs to and from the condo. The owner, who is great to get along with, has stocked the condo with everything you could think of to enhance your stay. As we chose to dine out it was nice to be only 3 to 5 minutes from a variety of fine restaurants and the beach. Easy access to and from the H1 made travel to and from the Royal Hawaiian Golf Couse, our favorite, to under 30 minutes. The lanai if sheltered from the wind and provides a great view of Diamond Head.
Very nice place to stay....its off the beach overlooking the school ground so it's quiet beach is about 3 blocks....and probably the best beach spot on waikiki, for snorkeling boggie boarding and swimming .pictures need to be updated as condo has been upgraded (ie granite counter tops) .this was our second stay here
Photos are outdated, the kitchen's been redone, cabinets over the stove are gone opening up the kitchen area to the living room. Makes the living room/kitchen very open & feel much bigger. Counter around the stove is now black marble or faux marble - VERY NICE. ALL glassware is nasty - cloudy and worn from dishwasher use. Spices in the spice rack were really gross - old, open, stale, ant-filled... yes... ants... don't leave food out & you're ok... otherwise you have ghost ants (small little guys and fast)... you are in the tropics and this unit is only on the 3rd floor. Don't leave food out.
There is no table to eat at - no dining room/kitchen table to eat at. Sucks. Only table is on the lanai... but when it's windy you can't really eat out there. There is some bar stools that are go up against the counter but it really could use a small table with some chairs.
You are at the east end of Waikiki, GREAT VIEW OF DIAMOND HEAD every morning. It was awesome watching the sun come up over the crater.
There is only 1 small old AC at the floor next to the bed in the bedroom - this means most of the cold air slams into the side of the bed and creates a cold zone right next to the bed and very little of the air moves about the room and even less into the condo. You have to have all the windows open in the condo all the time to vent the heat. If the trade winds are blowing in the right direction it's very nice and pleasant in the condo... when the winds are NOT blowing in the right direction the condo get very hot and stuffy. This sucked. I was there for a month and the first 10 days had about 8 days of hot & stuffy. There is no AC or ground fans in the 2nd bedroom/den or in the living room. 1 big roof fan in each room but they don't move air out of the unit - just down from the roof. REALLY needs to be a portable AC unit in the living room and 2nd bedroom.
The parking stall could not be any closer to the entrance door on your floor - this was GREAT. You have about 30' to walk from your stall to the door that enters the hallway. Then about 60' to walk once you were in the hallway.
Two love seats - recliners & very comfortable. Glass coffee table does not move well - it's heavy. Use bar stool seats as mini tables - it works.
WORST PART - King bed is old. It was broken. I had to repair it 1st night. Then really work on it a few days later. 2nd bedroom beds sag, roommate pulled the mattresses off and then slept on the floor.
Great condo...We already reserved for next year!
We have been coming to Waikiki for the last five years always staying in the Diamond Head Vista during the month of February. We have stayed in other units in this building and this condo is by far the best. It's on a lower floor which means you don't get the trade winds. Also, sitting out on the lanai above the grassy school grounds with Diamond Head in the background is just a perfect setting. We had an occasion to call security due to some after hour noise from another unit. Security got right on it and the problem was taken care of. This is a first class building.
The unit was very clean and fully equipped. It was a pleasure dealing with Keith Williams, the owner. We look forward to coming back in Feb 2015.
Walk to Waikiki Shell Amphitheater for world class music venue, see free outdoor movies (seasonal) on the beach, stroll to the zoo and aquarium and enjoy Kapiolani Park with its tennis and recreation facilities.
