About John Virkler - Property Manager
Bruce and Zoe Berger built their dream home in 1997, moving out of South Florida to raise their children in the mountains of North Carolina. They never looked back and their children loved being raised here. Now that both children have flown the nest, they have too! It was time for them to move off the mountain and share their home with those who enjoy all that the mountains have to offer and all that they have enjoyed!

We had a wonderful time on our family trip staying at this beautiful Mountain Top home. The house was ready with everything you need including a gift basket with snacks and treats. It was easy to get to and had a great view! There were board games and books for the kids to enjoy and the playground was an extra treat. I would definitely stay here again!! Thank you for sharing your beautiful home with us we can tell it is well loved.
Thank you so much for your wonderful review! We love it when our guests create such wonderful memories at MountainTop :))

We held my sisters small wedding onsite and every guest was amazed with the property and views. Everything was great from the 24/7 care we had during our 5 day stay through wedding day. The property manager, John was very attentive to our every need and even worked directly with all our vendors to ensure the weekend went smoothly. Thank you! Thank you! Thank you!
Congratulations on our sister's wedding! It was an honor and a pleasure to host such a beautiful bride and her family. We are thrilled that your family enjoyed their celebration at our home. We wish you all the best and hope that you will come back soon to create more memories at MountainTop ~ Bruce and Zoe

Beautiful mountain top retreat
Our tennis team was attending a tournament in Asheville and this property was just perfect for our group. Plenty of space, we loved the spacious patio with the amazing views and the hot tub was awesome after a day on the courts. The kitchen is well stocked with plenty of dishes, utensils, cookware, glasses. There is even a set of fine china for those who might want to partake in a formal dinner. I thought this was amazing in a rental house. Plenty of pantry items, foil, ziplock baggies, etc... and even a Keurig with a selection of coffees, teas, and hot cocoa.
While it is a “hike” up the the mountain, once you are there, it is well worth it. The road is winding but if you take it slow and steady it’s not difficult to maneuver. We were able to obtain lift/Uber rides for night time activities so no worries about driving in the dark.
Once down the mountain you are within 10-15 minutes from Downtown Asheville, Biltmore, etc. plenty of restaurants, grocery stores are within minutes as well.
Our entire group loved this house and we would absolutely book it again.
Hello Miller Group! Thank you so much for your wonderful review! We are so glad we were able to accommodate your tennis team at MountainTop Escape. Although it is 1.5 miles to get up to the top of the mountain to arrive at MTE, it is well worth the drive. In order to see one of the best views in Asheville, you need to drive up a mountain :-)
We hope to see you again soon! All the Best, Bruce & Zoe
All went well and very much enjoyed the house.
Hello Dean ~

Pretty perfect for three families with small children
We really enjoyed our stay at this house in Asheville. It easily fit three families with 7 children total. Each family had a bedroom for adults and another for kids. It is very spacious and we never felt like we needed more room. The kitchen was well stocked when we made meals there. The kids LOVED the playset and generally being outside. The view, as everyone else noted, was incredible and we took advantage of the big deck.
Things to note for future travelers: there was some rain before we arrived and the road leading up to the house was rougher than expected. It isn't for those who routinely get car sickness either. Also, if you bring bikes with you you might ask about garage access beforehand so your bikes are not outside in the rain.
Thank you so much for your 5 star review! We are thrilled that your group enjoyed MountainTop Escape. We typically leave the 3 car garage locked because of maintenance tools and supplies that we store at MTE. If anyone needs access to store their stuff, we certainly can arrange for that ahead of time.
We hope to see you up at MTE again soon ~
All the Best, Bruce & Zoe
