Very disappointing. The house was very old, drawers were falling apart, kitchen equipments were old, bent and broken and the shower drain were draining slowly. The rental did not provide any hand soap, dish washing soap, shampoo/conditioner, paper towels, laundry detergent. Prepare to bring or go buy everything of your own. The rental was infested with roaches and other bugs upstairs and downstairs. As soon as we checked in we just dropped our stuff off and went exploring, we had not realized everything until we came back later in the evening. I did not want to call the owner late at night so i sent an email. The owner called me the next day and explained that eveything should have been there unless the previous renters took everything. Isnt that the job of housekeeping to have everything back in stock before the next renters checked in? The owner ask if we wanted pest control to come out but we only had a day left in our trip, the weather was bad so my grandmother stayed at the rental and she doesnt speak English, we werent sure when they'll come out and we didnt want to waste our day waiting for someone to come or leave my grandmother there with a stranger. Everything about the place was disappointing and disgusting.

Owner's Response: in response to these people.....i have shared this negative email to my friends & family & "housekeeping" all of whom have helped me make this house what it is today. all of us are dumbfounded. this is the first negative response in 15 years. to all our future potential vacationers...this house is beautifully maintained. built in 1970 we have new siding, new windows, new roof & new appliances. it is 100 footsteps to a beautiful beach. most of our people are repeats & i dont think they would come back year after if these accusations were true. we provide several days of paper towels, TP, dish soap, trash bags detergent plus many ammenities we dont have to, such as nice bch chairs, bch towels, bikes & ping pong in the garage. we are on septic as most of the island is. once or twice a year the tub can get stopped up. my phone # is on the fridge. i can be reached 24/7 & any issue will be rectified immed. my "housekeeping" dropped all items these people said were missing & their doorstep within 2 hrs. "housekeeping" also said all these items were left in the house & i believe "housekeeping" because i know for a fact the "roach" infestation is not true. we have a bug man thats sprays inside & out quarterly. the previous tenants were there for 2 weeks & would have told me....because i was there in our other unit! also i just checked in with the tenants after them or i should say they checked in with me to say how they loved it. i asked if they saw roaches....answer was no. our home is run with your vacation in mind. to call it disgusting is what im going to call these once in a lifetime tenants. i would like to thank all of our vacationers over the last 15 yrs for their support & nice reviews of our home. it is encouraging & motivates us to have the cleanest & most "fun" beachy house possible for your vacation. sincerely, kathleen

Great location in a friendly town

First time visiting Florida and we really picked a great place The beach is just a few steps away, there are restaurants and coffee shops within walking distance. The old city and tourist area of St. Augustine is just 10 min drive which made this place nice and quiet away from all the people. We really loved the area - people were very friendly and a lot of place were dog friendly as well. The house had a fenced backyard so we could let our dogs run around without any worries.

The house has a lot of amenities - washer/dryer, bikes, beach chairs, outdoor shower, etc Too bad we didn't get to enjoy them as much since it rained a lot while we were there.

But we would love to visit again and hopefully the weather will be better.

The owner Kathleen is very easy to work with and will respond promptly. No need to say but we highly recommend this place.

A+ Everything!

We absolutely loved everything about this rental! From the location to everything about the house. It was perfect. We had two teen boys with us, and they loved the ping pong table, games and bikes. Everything you need is there. House was super clean and the owner was wonderful to work with. We would definitely recommend it and we would definitely come back!

Perfect Stay - Perfect Location!

This duplex was just perfect for my family of four plus my two fur babies. Very cutsie decor with a fun beachy feel. There were four bikes which I recommend riding along the shore. The beach chairs are quite tattered and worn with memories but worthy of a few more. The location was perfect because the beach was a short stroll as well as several casual restaurants. You really don't even have to drive anywhere. Just enjoy the beach til you get hungry, rinse off at the house under the outdoor shower and stroll over to Mango's or Beachcombers (1 block over on the beach) or the awesome Taco Shop across the street. All of which were really good! We booked a couple of ghostly tours to keep our daughters entertained in the history of this beautiful old city. We chose the discounted groupon offers which were really fun. The weather was beautiful every single day. I recommend taking a small spray bottle of water to help with the heat. Upon booking, the owner, Kathleen, was very nice and timely with communications. I highly recommend this adorable little beach house!!

2 miles from Osteens Restaurant featured on Travel Channel for their world class food! also just great food you can walk to. mango's jacks BBQ, beachcomber(incl. live bands) playa chac moal(authentic mex.) 2 blocks south on rt. just walk!! its casual fantastic!!!

January through March are typically monthly rentals ($2800). Weekly rental is $1400 in season (June thru August). Low season, fall & winter and last minute bookings negotiable. Minimum nightly rate is $200 (3 nt min). Additional 10.5% hotel tax and $125 cleaning fee will be added.

100% refund if canceled at least 30 days before arrival date.
