Property type cabin
Minimum Stay 2 nights

About the property

Cabin, 2 Bedrooms + Convertible bed(s), 2 Baths, (Sleeps 4-6)

The Brasstown Creek House is a beautiful, centrally located spot to spend some quality time, whether you're looking for peace and quiet, a base from which to explore the area, a place to stay while visiting family and friends, a place to host a gathering or to take classes at the nearby, nationally known John C. Campbell Folk School.

The Creek House can be found three miles southeast of Brasstown, NC at 8105 Old US 64 in Clay County. The Smoky Mountains surround the Creek House and provide spectacular scenery. The Creek House is situated directly on Brasstown Creek which borders the edge of the Hyatt Farm. What this means to guests is lots of fun; wading, tubing, fishing, hiking, and picnicing. Quieter enjoyments at the Creek House include watching the brown herons stalk up and down the creek looking for a likely spot to catch a few fish, and listening to the creek lull you to sleep.

Quiet and Calming

  • 5 of 5

Beautiful wooded setting, gurgling creek, in a word: peaceful. Mere yards from the road, it still feels as if you've left the world behind. Four minutes from the folk school, fifteen from the shops and restaurants of Murphy. It was the perfect spot for a homebase for eclipse viewing. Logistics of payment, check-in and check-out worked perfectly, Sandra is a terrific host.

Cell service is spotty (as it is everywhere in extreme western NC, outside of towns); wifi would overcome this if a reliable connection to the outside world is needed - I would gladly have paid a bit more to have it.

Property was exactly as described and pictured.

  • 5 of 5

We enjoyed a quiet and relaxed weekend on Brasstown Creek. The house was exactly as described and had everything needful for a few days away from the city. The owners were very gracious and welcomed us to walk around the farm. We thoroughly enjoyed our time there.

Awesome place to unplug and enjoy nature

  • 5 of 5

We loved this place. We have boys, age 14 and 10, and they loved just exploring every day in the creek that is right out the front door. My husband enjoyed hours of fishing in the creek every day as well. Everything was as stated on the listing and the cabin was clean and well stocked with everything we needed. The washer and dryer in the unit was a God send as we used it daily to wash clothes from the boys' outdoor play. We all went to the folk school on Tuesday evening and learned a little bit of square dancing. Be sure to check out the downtown Brasstown area when you are there.

Although the listing says it sleeps 6, we found that our 4 were plenty and it would be pretty cramped for 6 people, in my opinion.

We have recommended to friends and we will probably return as well.

Where do you live?

Beautiful and peaceful! We can't wait to go back!

  • 5 of 5

As you sit on the front porch you can see and hear the beautiful Brasstown Creek. Down the path a short walk you get several opportunities to get in this cold but refreshing creek! While the children swam the husband fished! We couldn't believe our good luck finding such an awesome vacation spot! Sandra and Bass were a joy to meet and visit with! The beds were cozy, the cabin spacious and the view is amazing. We were not bothered at all with the lack of signal - everyone needs to unplug every now and then and take in the wonderful nature this world has to offer. Thank you, Sandra and Bass, for sharing with us! We made memories that won't soon be forgotten. Hope to be back soon!

Well Thoughtout Cabin In A Peaceful Setting

  • 5 of 5

Easy to find, right on the creek. I wasn't sure what to expect but far exceeded my expectations. The cabin had anything and everything I could have possibly needed including a hot tub. While we were there we left the doors open and we could hear the creek and the weather was beautiful. Anything I needed or any questions I had was just a phone call away to the owners. The owners are great people. I plan to be back again!
