Welcome to Casa Majahua (ma-ha-wa)! It is our pleasure to share our home with guests from around the world. We have spent quality time preparing Casa Majahua for visitors by sharing our home with family and friends. This allowed us to decide what was ‘just right’ so our guests can enjoy Casa Majahua the way we do.
We have a handful of ‘themes’ that we ensure are present at Casa Majahua:
* Private & Communal areas
Casa Majahua was built with an open floor plan so guests can experience the unspoiled natural beauty surrounding the property. There are ocean views from the living room, dining room, upper decks and each casita. The construction consists of local soft and hard woods (most of which are sustainable) and artisan craftsmanship is seen in every door, window, cabinet and gate.
But natural and architectural beauty is not the only thing that sets Casa Majahua apart from other rentals. We also offer on-site personal attention during your visit. As part of your reservation, you will be greeted by our Property Manager, Alejandro or his wife, Mariana when you first arrive. They will walk you through the property and explain everything to you. Mariana will also check in every other day to ensure you have everything you need. She can help you arrange tours or provide help in other areas (i.e. shopping). Also, a cook can be arranged for $100 pesos per person per day (plus you pay for the food itself). Please indicate whether you'd like this additional service when you make your reservation.
Lastly, Casa Majahua staff are on-site every day to clean living spaces (sheets are changed every 3 days...towels more often based on guest need), water plants and clean the pool. We also have a night watchman, Don Tino, who rounds out our 24 hr security.
Casa Majahua is made up of five separate structures--a common area, two identical casitas, a guest quarters and a tower. The combined living area is just over 6000 square feet on almost a half acre of land. Please see the site plan that is shown as one of the pictures.
The first floor of the common area houses the kitchen, dining room, living room and a full bathroom. The dining room table can accommodate up to 18 people. The living room is connected to the infinity pool and has direct access to the swim-up bar, not to mention direct access to the beach and views of the ocean and Majahua Point. There are stairs in the living room to the second story as well.
The pool area includes a swim up bar, steps into the pool from the living room, a wrap-around deck, an attached hot tub and a shower as you come in from the beach.
The second story of the common area contains one enclosed bedroom/entertainment room (full futon) which is air conditioned. The rest of the second floor is an open loft area, which can accommodate overflow sleeping. Another unique feature of this level is a 'gangplank' that traverses the dining room to a deck where you can watch the sunset.
Each of the two casitas has an outdoor living room with sleeping chaise lounge (full size - can accommodate 2 people). There is an inside bedroom (king bed) on the first level with large full bath, and the second level is a loft area, which can be used for overflow sleeping (full size futon). The casitas copy the common area 'gangplank' effect, and each have a little deck to look out to the ocean. The casitas utilize palapa roofs that allow in sea breezes, therefore, no air conditioning is utilized.
The Guest Quarters contain two separate air conditioned bedrooms (queen bed) and one shared full bathroom.
The Tower is two stories. The first story contains the laundry facilities. The second story is one bedroom (queen bed) with an attached full bathroom. This room also enjoys strong ocean breezes, thus no air conditioning.

Absolutely Epic Vacation
Not sure where to start except to say...stay here (but not the week that we plan on coming back). We just got back from a glorious week at Casa Majahua. From start to finish this place was amazing. We had a group of 10 people (9 adults and 1 child) and we spend a full week surfing, relaxing, drinking fruity cocktails, walking the beach and eating (oh dear lord the eating was insane but more to come on that). We hired Guille to cook EVERY meal for us. breakfast is included everyday except Sunday but we hired her for Sunday as well. Her skills are rock solid and the overall cost for all the shopping and cooking was way less than going out. We hired two vans to pick us up from the airport and made a pit stop at the big grocery store for beer, booze, junk food and other necessities. However, after eating three meals per day we found that the only thing we truly ran out of was the booze. The property is breathtaking. Everything is so well kept and the pool is pristine. At one point I had to check my pulse to make sure I still had one. Out little family of three stayed in one of the King Casitas. We didn't need the overhead fan or the bug net but both were available. There are two local small markets you can walk to which we used a lot during our stay. We also enjoyed drinks at Marthas and we took two of the EcoTours (check with Alejandro the PM he will hook you up its his company). We had massages twice on property, went to listen to live salsa at Eden out last night there and went to town a few times just to change up the scenery. I cannot believe our fortune in finding this treasure. The beach right on front of the house is good for some tide pool exploration (bring swim shoes) and you can wade in the water but if you are not an experienced swimmer I'd skip this beach all together as there is a crazy rip that can be dangerous. There is a beach right down the road that is way better for beginners or those looking for calmer waters. If you are a hotel type person who likes to be catered to and you are looking for an umbrella in your drink this is not the place for you. Troncones is a chill town with next to nothing going on....which is exactly how we like it.
Amazing! Elegant and Intimate.
Your own personal resort. Small staff is incredible. The buildings and grounds are beautiful. Incredible location. Top notch!
We had an amazing week with the family at Casa Majahua. Shawn was very responsive to questions getting things set up, and all of the staff on site were super welcoming and worked hard to ensure everything was perfect.
The buildings are beautiful, and I can't say enough about the cooling service - definitely worth it. The little town of Majahua had some great restaurants and an amazing beach a short walk away, and our daughter (2 years old) really loved the beach in Troncones.
We are looking forward to another visit to this magical place. Thanks for sharing your home with us!
Can't say enough...
Second time we stay at this villa and can't say enough.
Everything was more than perfect; the caretakers, the villa, the cleanliness, the location, the pool, Alejandro, etc., etc.
Hope to make this our return point each year.
Came for my son's 17th birthday celebration
Came to fish, but weather was hot and muggy. Fishing was a little tight, so we only went one day. But we had many hours poolside at Casa Mahajua, once again Sean was amazing from the start.I stayed here multiple times
( with both large groups and small groups)!I will always return here if it is available. Sometimes I want to hold back on the review, but the owners and the staff are so great! I have to give them mucho credit! It's an awesome place... just don't try to book it when I need it haha!! Gracias por Todo! Can't wait to come back!
Ps... every review I have to mention Gia she is absolutely amazing to help with anything you need and is the best cook in the whole area
Troncones is a 5 KM beach including portions of straight white sand and some rocky points and coves. Surfing a large draw to this area, but the area also enjoys good fishing and wonderful bird and wildlife watching. The Sierra Madre de Occidental Mountain range can be seen about 100 KM to the East. Other Activities: kayaking, boating, wildlife viewing
