50m from the Picasso Museum and 5 minutes walk from the Place des Vosges, in the heart of the historic Marais district.
The apartment is located in a beautiful mansion of the 17th century listed historical monument.
This hotel was built in 1619 for Nicolas de Croisilles, advisor to the king. It consisted of a main building between courtyard and garden which turns first on a right wing then on a left wing attached to the main building in 1665. He served from 1898 as a Christian home for young girls
The facade on street was rebuilt in 1800
The hotel Croisilles, is emblematic of the safeguarding of the marsh in the 1960s when it was question of shaving most of the neighborhood. The facades on the courtyard and on the old garden, as well as the corresponding roofs, were thus classified in 1961.
We are two steps from the Place des Vosges, built under Louis XIII, the father of Louis XIV. In one corner of the square is the house of Victor Hugo that can be visited and is interesting. The visit is also free because it is a museum of the city of Paris. Same thing for the Carnavalet museum, located just behind us, which presents the history of the city of Paris. It shows models and signs of the Middle Ages, paintings of the French Revolution etc., all presented in a mansion. The Picasso Museum is not far either and it has finally reopened after many years of renovation. There is also an old market overlooking the rue de Bretagne, the market for Red Children, which is worth a visit.
The apartment has just been redecorated with an original decoration and has been furnished with antique furniture, engravings and rare objects., It can accommodate 2 people.
