The Tiny House at Malahat Farm is a beautifully designed Tiny House set in an idyllic setting. Malahat Farm is one of the original Homesteads in the area and was established in 1896. On the property are the original Farm House from 1914 and The Cottage built in 1918. Once a 160 acre Farm, the property now consists of 5 stunning acres of farm land and forests.
We are located on the South west Coast of Vancouver Island 12 Km west of Sooke.
There is plenty of storage in the tiny house with every square inch thoughtfully designed. The footprint of the house is 176 sq.ft., the loft bedroom with Queen size mattress brings the total to 232 sq.ft. This space is perfect for two adults or two adults with one or two small children. The bench on the lower level pulls out to a single bed.
Plenty of windows and a high ceiling make the tiny house feel spacious for its size. There is a covered entry and a large deck with bistro table and chairs.
The kitchen is fully equipped with everything you will need and has a large sink, fridge/freezer, two burner induction stove top, microwave and toaster oven. Even with all of this there is still counter space.
In the bathroom you will find a shower, sink and flush toilet.
The nearest beach is Muir Creek Beach about 500 m away. Muir Creek runs into the Straight of Juan da Fuca here and the estuary provides a great opportunity for bird and wildlife watching. Canadian Geese, Bald Eagles, Heron, River Otters... From here you can look across the Straight to the Olympic Mountains. Whales and Sea Lions are often spotted here.
Farther along the coast are the many beautiful beaches of the area; Gordon Beach, French Beach, Sombrio Beach, China Beach and many more. Botanical Beach at Port Renfrew is a must see at low tide.
The Farm is 1hr 15min drive away from Swartz Bay Ferry Terminal and Victoria International Airport. One hour to Victoria and 15 minutes to Sooke.
There are many things to do and see in the area. Mead tasting at Tugwell Creek Honey Farm, tour the Salt West salt making company, Foggy Mountain Forge and the Sherringham Point Light House are but to name a few. After all your adventures stop in at Shirley Delicious for a coffee and some delicious food and treats, the name says it all! Stoke Wood Fire Pizzeria is just down the road with their authentic Italian style wood fired pizzas. Did I mention that there are 3 micro breweries in the area? Bad Dog Brewing Company being the closest and my personal favourite! Enjoy!!
