Authentic charm by the sea - Restaurants and fish market 2 steps away.

In a small charming building, in the heart of a fishing village, a few meters from the sea and the port, I offer an apartment for 2 adults (+ possibility 1 child up to 13 years old).
The architecture and layout, produced by Les Filles Du Bord de Mer, has already won over the decoration press (Art and Decoration, West side, The house journal ...)
Particular care has been taken in the choice of materials and equipment.

The apartment "Le Matelot & La Normande" was so named in reference to its beautiful Norman wardrobe, family furniture passed down for several generations, in contrast to a chic marine decor and vintage touches.

This particularly bright apartment of approximately 33 M2, for 2/3 people, is composed of:
- On entering, living room of 17 M2 with fitted kitchen, Norman wardrobe as a dresser, table and 3 chairs, 1 bed (70 * 190) for 1 child (also suitable for an adult) and serving as a bench seat during the day, TV / DVD / Ipod-Iphone / WiFi station
- Bedroom of 9 M2 with a double bed (140 * 190),
- Shower room of 7 M2 with an old desk on which we put a basin, large mirror, shower, WC, hairdryer, wardrobe.

DECO SIDE:
Classic spirit (bourgeois with moldings, family furniture in dark wood) in contrast with a chic marine decor and vintage accessories (50s / 60s) or reissues design.
Paintings in shades of soft blue, gray and white.
Beautiful old parquet in the living room, seagrass in the bedroom, painted parquet in the shower room.
Some marine objects here and there, books available.

WINDOW SIDE:
Very bright apartment. The living room and the bedroom face south, on a small square with a nearby grocery store. Some residents park on this square. The shower room overlooks Halley lane with cathedral glass panes.

Outstanding!

Loved our stay in Port-en-Bessin! Charming, well-appointed, clean and comfortable! Loved the location- fun to watch the fishing boats and the tides. Central to visiting the Normandy beaches. Relaxing!

Wonderful!!

The apartment is charming and the perfect location for exploring Normandy. The owner, Astrid was incredibly warm and helpful with getting us settled. The apartment itself was just as pictured- very comfortable and well appointed to make our short stay there delightful! There are several nearby restaurants to choose from, and a wonderful patisserie just steps away. We would definitely return, and can not recommend this property highly enough!

Perfect location and apartment

Port en Bessin is the perfect little community for your stay in Normandy. Centrally located to everything, clean, friendly and beautiful. Not only is the town perfect, but this little apartment is as well. Located on a private street with no car traffic, you do not have the noise of any cars. You are within a short walking distance of many restaurants and eateries, grocery store, canal and shopping. The apartment is very clean and has all the amenities that you would need. Everything is updated or new and wonderfully decorated. The owner Astrid, is a delight and very helpful if you need her.

A Perfect Spot.

We had a tremendous stay at Le Maison De Matelot. We used it as a base for a cycle tour of Normandy. It is perfectly situated between Omaha and Gold beaches. Bayeux and many of the WWII sites are within short distances. The village of Port en Bessin was perfect for us. Love small villages with restaurants and amenities within steps. A patisserie at the end of the street...what more can you want? The accommodation itself was exactly as advertised. Very comfortable and absolutely charming. Utilized the laundry facilities easily. Astrid was onsite to greet us and provided all the information we needed. Parking nearby. Astrid even arranged secure storage for our bike. We would not hesitate to stay here again. A great place to start our 2017 France adventure.

Perfect stay at Normandy.

We had the best holidays at Port en Bessin. Lovely Town, nice people, best food, fresh fish at the fish market and a perfect apartment. We stayed at the apartment for one week and enjoyed it a lot!
