About the property

Cabin, 2 Bedrooms + Loft + Den, 2 Baths, (Sleeps 6-8)

Tucked away in a wooded setting, Bear Ridge is a beautiful two story log cabin. This two bedroom cabin is perfect! Guests of all ages will enjoy the black bears hanging from the rafters. But please do not feed the bears! The living room and dining room combined have been elegantly furnished to provide both comfort and style. Marvel at the cathedral ceiling, and luxurious furnishings. The kitchen décor with black appliances set the stage for the black bears. The dining room table is enchanting. Enjoy the carved details on the table and chairs. The living room has a plush sectional with a queen size sleeper sofa, very large stack stone gas log fireplace, as well as a 52' HDTV with VCR, DVD and Dish Satellite Service. A DVD and video library is available in the cabin for your convenience. The master bedroom located ion the main level features an impressive king size log bed, jetted tub and a 19 inch flat screen TV. A full bath is centrally located next to the master bedroom and the living room. Next to the bathroom is a large utility room has a stack washer and dryer, as well as an ironing board and iron.

Bear Ridge has two back decks. The deck on the main level leading off the living room and the master bedroom features a hot tub and porch rockers. Another deck upstairs leads off the game room in the loft. The spacious deck provides plenty of room to relax and enjoy the peaceful setting. The upstairs loft has a game room with a pool table, and an air hockey and comfortable sitting area with a 32 inch flat screen TV with a DVD/VCR combination. The plush sofa folds out to a full size sleeper. A second bedroom and bath adjoins the loft. The bedroom on the second level is enhanced with large windows, a king size log bed, and a 21 inch flat screen. TV The bedroom has an endearing window with shutters that allow a guest to marvel at the view from above. Bear Ridge, a two bedroom, two bath log cabin is located eight miles from the Great Smoky Mountain National Park, and less than ten minutes area attractions and shopping outlet mall.

Great Location

  • 2 of 5

We stayed in the cabin from Jan 13-16, 2017. First a few positives: The cabin is located in an ideal spot, far enough away to give you the secluded feeling but only a few minutes from the Pigeon Forge Parkway. There are houses on each side of the cabin but the way it is positioned you don't see them from the back decks where the hot tub is. Secondly a few negatives: the cabin was not very well cleaned when we arrived. There were cobb webs in the cabinets and in the corners of every room/ceiling rafters. The sheets on the master bedroom had several stains on them. The water smelled like sulfur very badly, to the point we had to use bottled water to brush our teeth. The drain in the whirlpool tub in the master bedroom (one of the main reasons we booked this cabin) was broken and we had to use a rag to stop the tub from losing water. My wife was not very happy about this. The hot tub seemed like it hadn't been cleaned recently, the walls and bottom were extremely slick, like it had a thin layer of algae in it. I sent the owner a message about the above negatives with not much concern in his response. He did say he was having a family medical situation but still didn't seem to care too much about the problems at the cabin. If the issues listed were fixed, this would be perfect for two families who wanted seclusion and closeness to town.

Owner's Response: I always appreciate guest coming to the mountains for a beautiful experience , I asked the guest as always when they checked in after 24 hours was everything ok , He stated quote(We made it . It's Super Nice. Thanks again . The spider webs in cabins are always a problem , you can take them down and they will be right back the next day , as for the hot tub , they used it the first night and apparently used lotion causing the film on the sides , the Hot tubs in any Cabin are required to be cleaned. The drain in the Jacuzzi tub was previously fixed and was never mentioned by the guest , now has been fixed again, he did say something about the hot tub only the next day I sent someone to check this , and lastly I was in with my Mother in Law which is terminal and I really hate to put this on here , I told the guest this , but I understand my guest expect things immediately . I thank the lord a above that we have been blessed just to see the beautiful mountain area , I have learned that I can't fix everything for everyone, but I do try if I know about it.

Great cabin but.....................

  • 3 of 5

The cabin is nicely decorated and in a great location. However it needs a little TLC. The jacuzzi does not hold water (can be used if a washcloth is stuffed around the drain plug and the water is run continuously), the pool cues are broken, the hot tub jets are so weak it's not worth using, some type of rodent is running around in the ceiling and the water has a very strong sulfur smell and taste. The windows, cobwebs and dusty decorations need cleaning. The house is beautiful and could be so much better if these things were improved.

The fall foliage was beautiful. We went to several Christmas show which were excellent. If you enjoy Christmas shows and decorations, it is a perfect time of year to visit the Smokey's!

Owner's Response: Anonymous wrote , owners Steve response, it was stated about the jacuzzi tub drain which was fixed while this guest was there , The sulper was from the water going through the hot water heater , This was also fixed while they was there, I sent someone up to this cabin 3 out of 4days , I think the guest probably needed someone to be on call constantly , The cabin was also cleaned of any spider webs while guest was there. Hope this answers any concerns that any other guest may want to know by seeing this review , please take a moment to check the other 20 reviews that were all positive. Thanks Steve

A wonderful cabin!

  • 5 of 5

This cabin is beautifully decorated and is very, very comfortable. My only suggestion is that a full length mirror be added somewhere and a small mirror in the main level bedroom. I was unable to get ready while my husband showered. Otherwise, our stay was just perfect!

Awesome Stay!!!!

  • 5 of 5

We had an amazing weekend for my daughters 12th birthday. We took a few friends and they had a really fun time. It is very close to all the attractions if you want to go out. Everything you could possible want to do and a nice stay in if you want to lounge around. I would highly recommend this cabin for anyone. :)
