Last min getaway
We were able to reserve this quirky, rustic home at short notice and it ended up a comfortable, convenient getaway. The kitchen was very well stocked and the propane stove by the dining area was thoroughly enjoyed by all. It was clear for the first half of our trip and we soaked in the views of Lincoln Peak and Mt. Ellen off the deck and Camel's Hump across the field. Overall it was a pleasant experience.
Lovely winter retreat, family friendly.
We loved staying in the Pratt home for our ski vacation this March. The home was well stocked with everything we needed. Lots of thoughtful details-- dish soap, toiletries, paper towels, even a bit of laundry soap was available when we had to do an emergency wash of some kids clothes. The fireplace and well stocked woodpile and gas parlor stove were very cozy after a day of skiing. The decor was thoughtful and heartfelt, we felt privileged to spend time in this well loved home. The house is a bit off the beaten track and we were concerned when it snowed, but the roads were and driveway were plowed. We were happy that one member of our party had a 4x4 when we wanted to go skiing in a snowstorm, but I had no problems getting to the house in good weather in with my front wheel drive honda. The internet was not so fast (DSL) but apparently the ski lodge had great internet, for those who needed it.
Style, Charm, and Access to the mountains
Great ski house close to Mad River Glenn and Sungarbush. Well outfitted kitchen, awesome living room, and comfortable beds
Beautiful views, great location
The house was perfect for our family trip to ski at Sugarbush and Mad River, easily drive-able in about 20 minutes to both mountains, yet in a peaceful location outside of town. The views out of the back of the house are gorgeous and watching the sunset on the mountains in the evenings was a true highlight. The place also has a spacious living area and great wood burning fireplace where we spent a lot of time. You can tell the house was built by hand with love and has all of the quirks that come with it. The downstairs bedrooms are very small but comfortable and the kitchen layout isn't ideal if you want to cook a lot but we still cooked every breakfast and dinner and all worked fine. Overall a relaxing stay, we would be happy to return!
