Nice location, unit and grounds needed some maintenance and repair

  • 3 of 5

Nice convenient location! We had some issues with the unit and complex. Complex pool was closed and drained and we were not notified. Master batroom shower did not work but we used the 2nd bathroom. Bathrooms need updating including fixtures. Bathooms reaked of bleach. Walls need painting. Property grounds were a mess until Monday afternoon when the leaves were finally blown off the sidewalks and driveways.

Owner's Response: We're sorry you had some issues. We were not aware that the pool had been drained, but have learned that it was damaged by the hurricane and had to be drained in order to repair it. Likewise, the leaves were the result of hurricane damage. The island prioritized cleanup by removing trees and limbs first; leaves were left until later, with the assumption that people needed to be able to navigate the roads first, and leaves, while unsightly, wouldn't keep people from getting to their destinations. We will have our property manager check the master bathroom shower. The fixtures are actually only 2 years old, so we're surprised to hear you had problems. The walls were painted earlier this year, and they looked good when we were there in March.

Beautiful surroundings and loved the proximity to Fernandina

  • 4 of 5

We loved going to the beach every morning and sightseeing or the pool in the afternoon. The surrounding area is covered by trees and great walking paths. Everything was within a 15 min drive. Favorite activities were the sunset Amelia River cruise, and exploring Fort Clinch. It was great to have 2 full bathrooms, a dishwasher, and a washer/drier in the unit. Everything was very clean and comfortable, and the rental property company folks were very nice and accommodating.

First let me say you will not be disappointed at this condo. The condo was clean and everything worked like it was supposed to do. Except for the lights - they kept flickering - BUT when you open up the balcony door and the windows, there were plenty of sunlight! You will want to do this even though the view wasn't the beach. You got the view of the golf course which itself it pretty relaxing to me. The kitchen was nicely stocked. We had to go out and buy a cutting board and a set of tongs. Not sure if previous families just use the beautiful granite countertops, but they looked so nice I couldn't do it. The location of the condo is on the third floor tucked in the corner - very quiet and relaxing. I was amazed at how quiet it was. We didn't hear anything - not even our next door neighbor through the walls. Further, this condo is on the Omni Amelia Plantation. Very beautiful place itself. You have trails, you have a small but beautiful shopping strip just about 5 mins walking distance, you have the beach just a 2-3 min walk, and the golf course right there. Fernandina Beach is about 5 mins drive and Jacksonville is about 25-30 minutes drive. The beach was not overcrowded like most beaches. The sand is nice, white, and soft. For those looking for things to do, you are not far (within a 20 min drive away) from the Talbot National Parks, Cumberland Island Tour (this is a must do!), Fort Clinch, Kingsley Plantation. Take a stroll around St. Augustine, its a well worth 40-45 minutes drive.
