About The Owner

My husband and I purchased this cabin as a family vacation home. We take great pride in providing our renters with the same facilities as we enjoy ourselves.

The Owner purchased this cabin in 2007

Why The Owner chose Serene Lakes

We had been coming to this location for ski trips several years and loved its convenience to great ski areas. Then we came for a summer vacation and totally fell in love with the peaceful neighborhood, great hiking, fresh mountain air, and proximity to the lake.

What makes this cabin unique

In the winter after a day on the ski slopes we enjoy dinner with family and friends around the large dining table. In the summer we love being able to hike on the local trails and walk to the lake for canoeing, fishing and swimming.

Perfect for our group of 2 families

  • 5 of 5

I highly recommend this cabin! Our group included three adults and two kids (ages 9 and 12) and it was perfect for our needs. We loved being able to sled, build snowmen, and snowshoe right behind the cabin.

Great location, great weekend!

  • 5 of 5

This Soda Springs rental was perfect for a ski/snowshoe/sled weekend in Tahoe. Sugarbowl is10 minutes away, if that. Everything we needed was available, including a well-stocked spice drawer, linens and cable TV. Our group especially enjoyed the big dining room table and the separate lounge areas on each floor. We would definitely come back again, great for a large group!

Super great stay

  • 5 of 5

We hosted a three generation long weekend so our grandkids who live, as we do, in the Bay area could experience snow. We skiied and boarded and kids built snow forts. I sank to my hips in the deep, wonderful, drought lessening snow. We did a similar weekend last year. All agreed this was a perfect gathering house for all, kids allowed more TV time downstairs while 6 adults got to chat, imbibe, play cards etc. upstairs. House worked well for all needs.

Great for Family Reunion

  • 5 of 5

We stayed at the property for a long weekend in August. Nice open floor plan upstairs with easy access to the balcony and more seating. Also nice was the downstairs family room with billiards. Gave the young adults a great place to hang out. (One note of caution for those with small children. The outside balcony railings are not compliant with current building codes and would be easy for a 1-3 year old to fall through.) The cabin is just a quick drive to the beach at Serene Lakes. We would definitely go there again.

Great exprience Serene lake community

  • 5 of 5

We stayed at this property just before Christmas. One of friend wanted to come with us last minute, so i just checked with the owner and she was OK with it. Being two floors helped with two families. There were lot of snow in back yard and front yard. My Son build a snowman on front-yard and played with the sleds provided in backyard. It is only 1 mile from soda springs, so our children enjoyed a lot. One morning we all went to the Serene lakes, it is only a block away, We enjoyed the Frozen lakes. It helped with a well stocked kitchen, we just got our own meat and vegetable and enjoyed nice meals. I will sure make trip in summer too.

Three generation extended family

  • 5 of 5

The house was really quite ideal for our extended family. The two "living spaces" meant we could spread out and it was easy to have "quiet time" for reading, children's naps, and talks. The house is VERY well equipped and everything we needed for food preparation was there. We also appreciated that some non-perishables were leftover from previous renters. It was also a pleasant surprise to find a collection of sleds we could use on the nearby sledding hill. As a family who wanted to sled AND cross country ski on the lake, the location of the house was perfect with easy walking distance to both, and an easy drive to several downhill ski sites as well as Royal Gorge ski center. We had a delightful week with near perfect weather. It snowed about six inches just prior to our arrival, but no chains were needed during our stay. We would recommend this property to any friend or relative with needs to house 8-10 people.
