About Johanna van Zanten
Retired from my social work job and enjoying the Mexican moderate climate in the mountains, while writing novels. Want to share my house when I am away.
Johanna van Zanten purchased this House in 2016
Why Johanna van Zanten chose Ajijic
This property is right in the middle of the Mexican neighborhood, where I can enjoy the real life. No gentifried, semi-posh street here. My house (87 sq metres per floor, ) is completely rebuilt and has the standards that anyone from the USA and Canada or other industrialized nations expects. Very comfortable two-story home.
What makes this House unique
The water is treated: a main convenience and safety issue. The gas man doesn't have to come to fill up the large tank on the roof more than once a year. The courtyard is one big mural of the village so that you don't have to go out and can still be in the village on those quiet days of private contemplation and relaxation. Has a solar-heating dunking pool for those hot days.

The town has many festivals with a lively town centre. Several travel agents arrange trips to wherever you might want to go on a day trip or on longer cultural expeditions. The city of Guadalajara is a centre for air travel and is about a 40-minute taxi ride away.
