Brand New FAMILY FRIENDLY Listing! Remodeled Spacious 6bd/3ba Retreat
About Aimee D'Alessandro
Nick and I both grew up in Southern California and moved to Colorado in 2012. We have thoroughly enjoyed exploring Colorado and fallen in love with it's beauty, tourism, and entertainment options. I have always loved working in the industry of hospitality and we are looking forward to sharing our home/retreat with guests and making their stay as memorable as possible!
Why Aimee D'Alessandro chose Gleneagle
Gleneagle is one of the most popular neighborhoods in Colorado Springs, offering larger lots, gorgeous front range views of Pikes Peak and the Air Force Academy. We fell in love with our neighborhood at first sight! We love that it's quiet and you feel like you're away from everything, yet you are only minutes away from restaurants, entertainment, and tourist attractions!
What makes this House unique
We love our home! It's a retreat set up off the culdesac which gives us amazing views of the Front Range including Pikes Peak and the Air Force Academy. One of our favorite parts of the home is our family living area with a ceiling to floor stone fireplace and wood vaulted ceilings. It's our cozy hangout with family and friends! We love that there are no neighbors directly behind us and we can relax and enjoy the privacy of our property and at night, you can see the city lights to the south of the home! We really are "Above it All". We have spent the last two years completely remodeling our home and are looking forward to sharing it with guests to make their own vacation memories.

Nice home, great location, wonderful owners, but no A/C
We struggled over this review because the owners were very kind and extremely responsive, they left a very nice gift basket, the house was nice and within 10 minutes from USAFA, and there is plenty of room. However, at the end of the day, we wanted to make the review about our stay in this home. Location and size of the home are the only reasons we rated the home as high as a 4. The house has no A/C, and the afternoons were miserably hot. If the temperature gets to 80 or above during the day, as it does during many Colorado summer days, that is the temperature inside the home, as well. A note by the heating thermostat inside the home says that most houses in Colorado do not have A/C. That has not been our experience, and even many of the homes in that same neighborhood have A/C. Regardless, for the relatively high rate we paid to stay at this home, we were disappointed we had to leave to find things to do during the afternoons because of the temperature inside the home. I don’t imagine the temperatures would be an issue for 7-8 months out of the year, but I think it’s worth highlighting to potential tenants that the home does not have air conditioning. It definitely would have made us look elsewhere even though the accommodations themselves (other than the temperature) worked well. There was plenty of dining seating for our small party of 5, but for a home that sleeps 12-13 people, I thought there would be a larger area to dine and more than 7 chairs to the table. Again, it wasn’t an issue for us, but larger parties will have difficulty if they want to have a meal together and not be spread around the house to eat. Toiletries were provided, but toilet paper was not stocked (5 rolls) for a group staying 5 nights, and we had to purchase more. Most of the home has been through a thorough remodeling. The kitchen is significantly behind the rest of the home in terms of updating. In fairness, the refrigerator is nearly new, and the stove and microwave are both in very good condition (the oven looks like something blew up inside). However, the microwave is located just over a foot above the stove which makes the stove difficult to work on, and the cabinets have had much better days and are literally falling apart. That said, there is a very nice gas grill in the back yard to cook on. It appears there are continual improvements going on in the back yard. A nice small brick patio has recently been installed surrounded by a dirt back yard.
Thank you for reviewing our property, it helps us to make it better for future guests! We appreciate your feedback, however there are a few critiques that need to be addressed as they are disingenuous and untrue. I would encourage guests to read all reviews to get a better perspective on the home.
Although we do not have AC, we plan on adding it. Because you questioned my “note” I unfortunately feel obligated to defend that AC is not common in CO. There are two other VRBO’s on our street and area that also do not have AC-neither of them mention that in their listing, as it is not a standard feature for CO homes. As a former realtor, I’m familiar with our neighborhood and CO. Some homes have AC (added by the owner) and some do not, but it is not a standard feature, but rather an upgrade. We do have ceiling fans, along with standing fans for each room that previous guests have found very helpful per their review! Our guests in July (the hot month) found the fans very helpful.
Regarding the eating space for a party of 13, all our 5 star reviews came from parties of 13 guests and they commented on how spacious the home and eating areas were. With you being a party of 4, I’m confused why you would review for a party of 13, while in fact those larger groups have reviewed specifically stating the eating space was great.
Toiletries are starter, however we offer many more than the standard ones.
I respect your opinion on the kitchen, however “literally falling apart” is disingenuous and an untrue perspective. The cabinets are original to the home and not updated, but are very clean and all function properly. Counters are new granite and all appliances are new stainless steel. The oven was used by guests throughout the summer, and has been cleaned after your stay. If the kitchen was falling apart, the pictures would show it and at least one of the reviews would have mentioned it. I personally clean between guests and literally clean baseboards and door knobs, I’m a neat freak! The property is immaculate.
The new patio is 900sqft. It’s spacious and has two separate entertaining areas for eating/socializing. We are updating between guests-landscape and a very cool fire pit area is next!
I encourage future guests to read all the reviews and if they would like an immaculately clean/entertaining updated space for their family, with privacy and gorgeous sweeping views of Pikes Peak, then our VRBO may just fit their needs!
Awesome stay at the house
House was easy to get too, clean and had everything we needed. It was very nice to have snacks and drinks for the kids when we got there. The communication between the homeowner was outstanding , responded quickly and very helpful. Beds were comfortable and had plenty of board games for the kids. We had a great experience in Colorado and in the house. Would definitely recommend aimee as a hostess.
We are so glad you all enjoyed your Colorado vacation and that our home provided everything you needed. I really wanted to make sure the beds were comfy for our guests, that's great to hear that they were. It was a pleasure working with you, and thank you for leaving our home in good condition!
This property was beautiful! Love the design and finishes and room layout was great. We had a wonderful vacation in Colorado Springs and this home fit our needs well. Aimee, the Owner, was very attentive and helpful too! We would recommend this home for large families and a central location.
Linh, thank you for leaving our home super clean! We are so glad you all had a great Colorado trip and enjoyed our home.
Beautiful Views, Great Accommodations
We thoroughly enjoyed our stay. Aimee was helpful and accommodating throughout, and even had a basket of energy bars and the like for those in our party who were running the Spartan race. The views of Colorado Springs and Pike's Peak were great as well. Overall, we would highly recommend staying here.
You all were great guests! So glad you enjoyed your CO trip and our home. It was great working with you and thank you so much for leaving the house in great condition.
Great family vacation
The property was perfect for our family vacation. We had 8 adults and 5 children staying in the house. There was plenty of space for everyone to spread out and relax, and plenty of space for everyone to sit and eat a meal. It was a great location for us as well (with a great view of Pikes Peak). We were in town for a wedding in Larkspur, but wanted to be close to the attractions in Colorado Springs. Our children enjoyed the trampoline, swing set, air hockey table, and movies/games in the basement. There were plenty of tower fans in the house to use when the temperature got a bit warm (we traveled in July). The only thing "missing" would have been a patio to sit on, but I know the owner said they would be putting one in within the next year. Owners were very prompt in returning messages, and were kind enough to leave some snacks and tea on the counter to welcome us when we arrived. Everyone in our group agreed the house was a perfect place to stay for our large group, and would recommend it.
Thank you for the great review. We are so glad that our house was perfect for your Colorado trip! You all left the house in such great condition, we appreciate that. The patio will be installed in August and we are excited to add that for the comfort of our guests. You all are welcome back anytime!
Perfect Vacation Home
We loved this property! Nick and Aimee were quick to respond to any questions we had. Property was immaculate. We had a party of 12 - 7 adults and 5 grandchildren and we had plenty of room. Amazing view of Pikes Peak from the front of the house.
The kids loved the in-ground trampoline and everyone loved the arcade quality air hockey game. We had an air hockey tournament to accommodate the rainy afternoons and evenings! Location was only 20 minutes away from Garden of the Gods, Manitou Springs, etc. The reason I gave the location 4 stars instead of 5 was because it was more suburban than rural, but we wanted that to ensure a good wifi connection. Wifi worked perfectly. We highly recommend this property.
We are so glad you all enjoyed our home and it's amenities! Thank you for leaving it in great condition and you all are welcome back anytime!
