About Marian Sheedy
We both grew up in this area and built Fuschia cottage as our home in 1995 when we got married. We lived here for several years until we moved nearby to another house. We both have worked in the catering business since college and currently run Roadford House Restaurant in Doolin village. We have two children - Blathnaid and Jack, a dog called Beans We enjoy guests coming to our home and make every effort to ensure their holiday in one to remember. Several guests return year after year so they are now family friends.

We traveled from the US with another couple. Marion and Frank were incredibly accessible and I can’t say enough about the cottage’s coziness and views. I think we could have lived in the sunroom if other area attractions hadn’t called us away. We slept soundly on the comfortable beds as well. We’ll be back at some point!
We had an amazing time! Frank and Marian we amazing hosts, the cottage is unreal how nice it is. If you're visiting Doolin, look no further, you've found a great place to stay
If we could give this place a 10 star we would!
The home is beautiful and SO clean! It felt luxurious and yet down to earth at the same time! The bedding and pillows and towels were top quality. The kitchen was very easy to feel comfortable in and had lots of amenities so we could cook some simple meals. But mostly we ate at McGann's which we loved! The hosts other recommendations were also so appreciated! The view and location were stunning. They were immediately available when we had one simple question ( we did not need them much because everything was there that we needed and was explained in the booklet and when they welcomed us). Thank you from the bottom of our hearts for a wonderful family holiday!!!
SUPERB home in gorgeous private surroundings
Frank and Marian are the most divine hosts ever in the most splendid part of the world. The views from every side of this house are stunning. The home was very spacious with tons of thoughtful details (brown bread and biscuits baked by our host Frank waiting for us when we checked in), personal visit from our host to welcome and orient us, books and maps of the area and many other cozy details. I loved sitting on the sunporch with my cup of coffee and book watching the ocean. The beds were very comfortable. The house was immaculate. There was more than enough room for our family of five with 4 bedrooms. We loved the cows grazing in the backyard (why is it that Irish cows look like giant stuffed animals????!) Our only regret was that the house was booked through the weekend--we would have stayed a few more days if we could! Definitely check out Pat Sweeney's cliffs of Moher walk if you stay here (took about 4 hours, was moderately difficult in parts and I wouldn't recommend at all if you are nervous with heights or have young children or anyone with anxiety--however the views were spectacular and he is so knowledgeable and passionate about the area) and McDermott's pub for excellent food and music or O'Connor's pub for AMAZING food and atmosphere. Lovely lovely lovely people in this part of Ireland and I can't wait to return!!!!
Great for family of 5
We were a family of 5 with 3 teenagers. Plenty of beds for all of us. Beautiful views from the cottage. Only 5 minutes drive into the town of Doolin for great pub music. There was a small market just 5 minutes away and there was a large grocery store about 15 minutes away. Frank suggested doing the 5 mile cliff walk along the coast up to the cliffs of Moher and it was a highlight of our trip! The kids also loved exploring around the Burren. Great property in a beautiful location. Would stay again.
Lovely cottage with spectacular views
We loved Fushcia cottage! The views were perfect- from the Burren off to the right, Aran Islands On the horizon and peeks of cliffs of Moher on the left! Marian left the nicest basket of baked goods and tips on local music! Amazing stay and we would definitely go back!
cliffs of Moher cruise, boat trips to aran island, fishing trips, visit Doolin cave and Ailwee Cave, hill walking through Burren, guided walks through Burren, traditional music sessions nightly in the village pubs
