This is a family owned home that I lived in since 1960! I am a retired entrepreneur that cofounded an IT firm. I have a degree in engineering and worked in the aerospace industry for many years. I am currently the national president of a nation wide sports organization! I have hosted our home for bed and breakfast on other sites and have achieved more that 120+ FIVE STAR accommodations!

This property is a classic custom craftsman home build in 1916. in 2008 it was completely renovated and additional improvements were made in 2018. It has been in our family for the past 59 years and we are very proud to share it with others. It is centrally located in the area called Mid-City which describes its general location! 5 miles west of downtown L.A. 8 miles north of LAX airport, 5 miles south of Hollywood (2 miles from Beverly Hills) and 8 miles east of the beach! Public transportation is available 200 feet from the house as well as several small eateries and restaurants. A renown live theater is only one block away that has hosted many veteran and rising stars. No better place to stay while visiting the City of Angels!

It was a good location. It was easy to get to the various places that we planned going to visit.
The house was fine. There was no street parking
Unfortunately one of our neighbors has 8 cars which can make street parking challenging at times BUT we have a long extended driveway that can accommodate up to 5 vehicles making street parking not much of a concern in most cases.
Great to vacation and enjoy our family all together in a great setting.
Our house manager and Housekeeper called me while I was out of town to inform me that these guests were the neatest guest that they have ever had in our home! Before leaving, they cleaned the house and left it in immaculate condition! Thank you for staying with us! We know you had many choices and are grateful that you selected to stay with us!

This was a wonderful family that was so very respectful of all of our House rules and were so courteous even the children greeted our staff with the utmost respect and we were so impressed that the were taught that at such an early age! We highly recommend this group/family to any and all hosts!

We had 16 in our group for our 4 day stay and it was the MOST Amazing & Clean House I've ever stayed in. We had Food there for us, enough linens for everyone and most of all the neighborhood was great. I would DEFINITELY recommend this house for your stay in LA!!

It is hard to believe that a guest actually gave us a negative review because we left all that food there for them to enjoy! So it is nice to know that you and the majority of our other guest appreciate the effort we made by providing you with the food and drinks that we do!
Great location but not clean
We arrived early and the cleaning person was still there and she asked us to come back in an hour or so. When we got back, we found a not so clean place. This is what we found - used glass in the sink, fridge and appliances not wiped down (dirty), there were so many items in the fridge we had no room for our groceries (they had left bread, eggs, yogurt, bacon, lunch meats, some open so we didn't know if they could be used or thrown away), dirty pots and pans - such that we could not use them, used toothbrush, paste, razors in the bathroom, hair clog shower drains, flies all over inside the house, dead grass clippings, toilets not clean, dead bugs in the house (one dead fly in the red pepper spice, scary), birthday balloons in the house, shower curtain yellowed from use, black hair on towels, garbages were not emptied (the kitchen garbage can was chuck full), and more. We wondered and were afraid the bedding was not clean. Our young girls used the hot tub and came away with a huge, chicken pox-like rash. We have pictures but it was not good. They still have the rash today, according to medical advice it is a hot tub rash that should go away in about a week or even two. The rash is due to a hot tub chemical imbalance and has been quite painful. The floors were not swept and in general, the floors were dirty and it showed when walking bare foot the feet turned black. While we loved the location, we were just unable to relax and enjoy the house because of the lack of cleanliness. We are not complainers and generally do not give bad comments because we enjoy the opportunity to see other locations especially with our once-in-a-lifetime trip to take daughters and granddaughters to have a weekend together in a home that allowed as many guests as we had. If this unit were clean, it would be an awesome place. Or if the property owner had been available to help us out, it would have been correctable. Or if the cleaners had done a good job. But it remains a very poor choice for our group.
IT IS A SHAME THAT 95% OF POTENTIAL GUEST WILL NEVER READ OR SEE THIS! We take customer satisfaction very seriously and NOT AFTER THE FACT but during their stay! We have 3 signs located throughout the home saying “We STRIVE FOR FIVES” we request ANY GUEST THAT HAS A PROBLEM OR ISSUE TO CONTACT US IMMEDIATELY during their stay! We include the phone numbers of myself as the owner and three of our dedicated hostess/housekeepers to call if there is any issue and we never want to hear about an unresolved issue in a review! I am absolutely flabbergasted over this review! This guest asked if she could come by early to "drop off their luggage" and I indicated that the house was in the process of being cleaned and most likely would not be ready but they could drop off their luggage. Prior to their arrival, I personally reminded them that we offer a full complement of breakfast items to our guests! EVERYTHING is fresh and replenished several times per week.
The hot tub is checked at least 3 or more times per week & I checked it on Monday after their stay, the PH and chlorine level were ideal. A few days later, I read this review and was shocked about her claim of her daughter getting a skin infection from using our spa so I ordered a sample of the spa water to be taken for professional for testing. We contacted the other guest that stayed with us before and after this guest. There was an entire family that used the spa the day before this incident and several other guests used the spa after and there were issues. We took the water and had it professionally tested by an expert at Leslie's Pools and their conclusion was the same with the PH being good which is one of the most critical factors having ideal chemical levels in a spa. They said since it was isolated to that one child that the problem most likely was due to her having sensitive skin and or allergic reaction to chlorine which is not uncommon especially for a young kid.
We have been hosting our home on another site for the past 9 months and our record was absolutely impeccable, our lowest rating that we ever received was a FOUR out of FIVE stars for an excess of 175 reviews with 91+% being 5 stars. The most common feedback was on how clean the house was! I feel that if this guest had problems they should have contacted us for corrective actions as instructed but did not and this review being our first on VRBO was an intentional conspiracy by this guest I hate to say it but solely based on bigotry!
