Faboulous apartment, awesome 1sr visit to Bamburgh

  • 5 of 5

This was our first visit to Northumberland, and it will definitely not be the last.

The apartment is in a fabulous location on Budle Bay, lots of parking, superb fixtures and fittings and lots of little touches that make it truly special - like a telescope to look over to the Farne islands and all the dog accoutrements in the apartment. We were 3 adults and our Spaniel ajasper.

The location is ideal for exploring, with Bamburgh, Seahouses, Newton, Alnwick, Beadnell, Craster etc all within a short drive.

The additional Jetty cottage is a lovely touch, overlooking the estuary, but would no doubt be more useful in summer.

All communication with the owner was superb, thoroughly recommended.

A fabulously located beautiful apartment for Xmas

  • 5 of 5

We wanted to do something different this Christmas and having been to Northumberland many times over the years, I had a yen for a Xmas day walk on Bamburgh beach. We had an amazing week - weather was great, we saw the Northern lights and as for the apartment...

Decorated for Christmas with a goodie tray of Fizz, liquers, a well as being the best equipped holiday home I have ever stayed in. Everything we needed was here and we even managed to get our Christmas food shopping delivered!

We played board games, pool and watched shooting stars in the amazing dark skies.

Tracey was amazingly helpful and efficient and very pleasant to deal with. I recommend this apartment whole heartedly for any time of year. Thank you for one of our best Christmas holidays.

Perfect holiday home :)

  • 5 of 5

I took my three children Nd small dog here and we had an amazing time.

Firstly the apartment is perfect. Kitchen is so well equipped, much more so than any other holiday home we have stayed in. There is even a small amount of coffee, tea and milk on arrival, and even cooking oil, which helps so much.

The views are breathtaking and we often found ourselves just staring out of the window watching the tide come in and go out again.

The area is lovely, but very quiet, so no shops within walking distance. We generally shopped at the Co-op in Seahouses, which is also a fantastic place to get your fish and chips!

Bamburgh is beautiful (just five mins down the road) and the beach there is stunning. We walked the dog there every morning and usually only saw one or two other people. I think our dog thought it was all his!

Some fab rock pools for kids on a low tide. We spent ages looking through them all.

So overall we had the best time and would definitely recommend the apartment, and the area :)

Idyllic Weekend!

  • 5 of 5

Have just returned from a long weekend at Swan Bay and had the most pleasant time.

Located about 2 miles from Bamburgh itself, the Mill buildings are in excellent condition and perfect location for a good beach walk to Bamburgh taking in the most amazing views and sinking sand!

Apartment itself was kitted out with everything 6 girls needed for a long weekend - couldn't fault the facilties and added extras that were left for us (maybe a few more ice trays neeeded ;-))

The apartment was spotless, very clean and well maintained, all towels and bed linen provided for us.

Jetty house provided excellent location for a BBQ and late night chats with wine and friends. Star gazing and shooting stars was an added bonus!

Would recommed to all and will definately come back for a visit!

Swan Bay, Waren Mill, Northumbria

  • 5 of 5

A beautifully appointed and elegant apartment tastefully decorated with every possible home comfort thought of. We had a fabulous long weekend here - the scenery is wonderful. A trip round the Farne Islands, Bamburgh Castle, and fish & chips at the harbour in nearby Seahouses, along with beach walks, great local food, and good cycling routes made this our perfect getaway. The view from the appartment and the Jetty Cottage added the finishing touches - not to mention the brilliant weather and the North Sea looking like the Med and warm enough for my (very hardy!) son to swim in! Thanks Tracy.

Occupying an idyllic location on the banks of Budle Bay, the former buildings of historic Waren Mill (built by the Normans and believed to date back some 900 years) have been converted to provide a collection of unique, high quality, apartments. Standing in an area of outstanding natural beauty, Waren Mill forms an ideal base for both nature lovers and bird watchers, with Lindisfarne Nature Reserve nearby. Countless Castles and stately homes beg exploration and the village of Bamburgh with its stunning Castle and village green lined with 18th century cottages is close at hand. Alnwick and its spectacular gardens are close by, whilst Scotland is only a few miles north of the lovely historic Berwick upon Tweed. The River Tweed provides some of the best salmon fishing waters in the country. Coastal golf courses, beautiful beaches, boat trips to see seals and quaint pubs
