This cozy North Shore 3 bedroom, 2 bathroom cottage (Hawaii TAT # 57395300) sits just steps from two different world class white sand beaches and is centrally located on the most prime shoreline location of Oahu's North Shore. This home offers two newly remodeled bathrooms as well as free high speed WI-FI, flat screen TV, DVD, stereo, and as of September 2015, we have added Air Conditioning. The cottage has beautiful garden views and is so close to the beach that you can hear the waves.
Our cottage is located on a gorgeous oceanfront lot property along with it's larger 'sister' home (HomeAway Property # 164566), which is situated directly overlooking the ocean. Two of the best beaches on Oahu are a short walk from the front door: World famous Waimea Bay and the white sands of Three Tables Beach. Amazing diving and snorkeling in Sharks Cove is a 5 minute walk away. 2-4 Beach Cruiser Bicycles are available to rent for your use. A beautiful bike path takes you everywhere along the north shore from this spot. This is the Prime North Shore location, right by Foodland and Starbucks. Private parking lot for up to 2 cars. Remote controlled electronic gated private entrance to the property.
The bathrooms were completely remodeled in 2013. The beautiful garden surrounding the cottage consists of large palms, plumerias and gardenias. The landscaping separates and provides privacy for both homes. The cottage has a an outdoor deck with a dining table. There's an outdoor shower to use to wash the sand off after coming back from the beach. Come relax in this wonderful cottage on world famous North Shore where you can surf, snorkel, jet ski, ocean kayak or just kick back and enjoy your iced coffee from Starbucks, which is just one block away.
Another Ocean front house on this same property at Waimea Point is also available to rent. Please see Home away property # 164566.
This cozy Cottage is ideal for families of various ages (in our case, 2 grandparents, son, daughter-in-law, and a 13-year-old grandson). It is far enough back from the highway to avoid noise and danger. Close to the beach by a very short walk in either direction. The kids had a ball with boogie boarding, sand castle building, surf lessons, and general beach sports.
The xlnt Waimea Bay Botanic Garden is within a mile of the Cottage. We spent a full day there. This is 5-star "Bot" compared to the barely 2-star Foster Garden in Honolulu, and is right down the street! General admission is a bit high at $15, but senior tickets are just $7.50. There’s a waterfall and swimming hole at the end of the trail, so bring a swimsuit. Free access is included with your admission ticket. Lifeguards are on duty and life vests are provided.
The big Foodland market is within walking distance of the Cottage. Nearby historic Haleiwa proved to be a fun town for a day's visit. Kaneohe and Kailua are a lovely scenic drive along the east coast, another fine day trip.
We loved watching and photo'ing the intrepid surfers riding the world famous waves. Sections of beach with dangerous undertow conditions are clearly posted.
The Cottage amenities include a new BBQ grill, which was great for family dinners of steaks and chops. Lots of extra beach towels and boogie boards were a welcome addition to the other household supplies. The garden around the squeaky clean Cottage is lovely and restful. The sound of the surf at night lulls you to sleep. Three little green geckos kept watch over the house while we enjoyed the many attractions on the island during the day.
We all achieved our R&R goal at the Cottage, although I confess to doing some work on my forthcoming (April 2012) book "Arthritis and Autoimmune Disease: The Infection Connection." We were thankful for the strong WiFi connection that made this work possible, as well as keeping in touch by email with family and friends on the mainland. The week went by far too quickly!
Thanks to the owners, who went the extra mile to make sure our stay was trouble-free and wonderful.
First of all, the location is superb -- we left our windows open at night and could hear the oversized surf concussing on the rocks, a brief stroll took us to the 3 Tables Beach park in the morning, and a few more steps brought us to the fantastic grocery (Foodland) on the island. The house itself is perfect -- simple, efficient, private, and in a gorgeous setting. The kitchen is nicely stocked with the items you'll need for grilling the fresh fish you'll find on the island and, of course, brewing up a pot of hot java in the morning. Finally, in addition to the wonderful location and house, Andy and Seton are helpful, responsive hosts who helped us feel the "aloha" of Hawaii. We look forward to our return! Mahalo.
Family of three adults on rest stopover before travelling through to mainland enjoyed the location of this lovely little cottage - between Three Tables Beach (dramatically beautiful) and Waimea Bay (great to swim and jog) and just a short walk to Shark Cove. We loved this protected inlet with fantastic snorkelling, an experi nice we hadn't expected...and we were able to love Shark cove because Waimea Cottage was so well stocked with beach gear - thank you so much Andy. We were a little nervous about sharing the property with another group in the front cottage, but it worked fine. Sliding walls between rooms could be a privacy problem for bigger groups, but worked ok for us. In our smalller back cottage the beds were great, the water was hot, the kitchen was generously stocked, Foodland was handy.....all we had to do was relax and enjoy, perfectly poised to take advantage of all the north shore delights.
House was great, location was great and easy to get in an out of. Everything was clean and very user friendly. Defiantly going to remember this place and VRBO as a whole
Absolutely amazing little cottage!!! All u really needed was your clothes and toothbrush! Cutest lil cottage w all the accommodations of home. Very clean!
Yes, u could here the traffic, but we got used to it after a couple of days. Laundry area ...dark spot. We always did our laundry at night and needed a flashlight to get back there.
Loved the chickens and geckos!
This cottage was very well stocked from bedding, kitchen and bath necessities. Even has an iron/iron board.
Beautiful Beach was right next door and Waimea Bay was about a 5 minute walk.
We would highly recommend this cottage.
2 houses on this property. The larger home is on the water and this cottage sits directly in front. Total privacy though.
Property mgr (Seton)was very friendly and responded immediately when we inquired about the bike rentals and minor questions.
The artwork really added a nice touch!
Really relaxed and enjoyed our stay!
We are located right on the ocean, in the middle of the world famous North Shore of Oahu, at Waimea Bay, 10 minutes north by car of the town of Haleiwa. Waimea Bay beach and and Three Tables Beach, Sharks's Cove, Foodland supermarket and Starbucks are all just a quick walk from our house. We are approximately a 45 minute drive away from Honolulu international airport. We have bicycles that you can rent to explore the bike path that wraps around the North Shore.
Other Activities: Walking to distance to the most famous beaches and surf spots in Hawaii.
Golf: Two full 18 hole courses are located at Turtle Bay Resort, just a 10 minute drive away form this house.
