'Lighthouse Manor' is a beautiful, 3-bedroom, two-story home right on the beach of Dungeness Bay (on the Straits of Juan de Fuca). You cannot get closer to the water (unless, of course, you jump in!)

Watch the cruise ships, cargo ships and even submarines cruise through the glorious Straits of Juan de Fuca. Gawk at the spectacular views of Mt. Baker, the lights of Victoria B.C., and the New Dungeness Lighthouse. Bald eagles, otters, deer and seals are regular visitors.

As if these ocean vistas were not enough for your eyes, the opposite side of our home faces the majestic Olympic mountains. You will see some of the most spectacular sunsets over these snow-capped jewels.

Sequim (pronounced 'skwim') offers so many great activities and attractions:

* Dungeness Spit (for those folks up for a great hike) (10 min); * Lavender Farms galore (5 min); * Olympic Game Farm (5 min); * Ferry across the Straits to Victoria B.C. (30 min); * Hurricane Ridge (40 min); * Local kayaking tours (5 min); * Fishing and crabbing (on site); * Several nice golf courses (10 min); * Shopping (15 min); * John Wayne Marina (15 min); * Port Angeles Airport (30 min); * Port Townsend (30 min); * Seattle (1.5 hrs) * Victoria B.C. You won't run out of things to do.

But you may just want to sit on the beach all day and soak in the views and the salt air.

The town of Sequim (15 minute drive from the beach house) has quaint shops as well as grocery stores and many restaurants. For those planning to stay for a while, there is even a Costco and a WalMart just 15 minutes away. Starbucks, QFC, Home Depot, etc. They're all here.

Sequim has the lowest rainfall in the Puget Sound region. Less than 14 inches a year!!! It has been named 'the blue hole' by airplane pilots as it is usually visible from the skies above despite the rest of the area being cloudy. Sequim boasts a large retirement community because of the weather, golf and proximity to so many nearby attractions.

Many people use Sequim as a home base to explore Washington's glorious Olympic Peninsula and Victoria BC, Canada.

Golfing is popular in Sequim as well. Lighthouse Manor makes a great home base for golfers who want to hit the links during the day and relax on the beach at night. During those long winter months while Seattle golf courses are being soaked with rain, Sequim has several golf courses that remain very playable due to the area's low annual rainfall.

'Seven-Cedars Casino' is in Sequim and offers great recreation, music and food.

About Dave and Margie

We have traveled all over Washington State to enjoy its beautiful scenery and dramatically varying landscapes. Of all the places we had found and made our special vacation spots, Sequim was the one to which we most often returned. It became our dream to buy waterfront property in Sequim and build a summer home. Lighthouse Manor became the fruition of that dream.

Why Dave and Margie chose Olympic Peninsula & Pacific Coast

We have always loved the north coast of Washington State. It is beautiful. Sequim was especially appealing as it only gets about 14' of rainfall per year due to its location in the rain shadow of the Olympic Mountains. We bought our piece of waterfront land in 2001 and built the house soon after.

What makes this house unique

We love the no-bank waterfront. Sitting in the house, you can feel like you are in a houseboat at times. The kids love to play on the beach, of course. The views are the most spectacular! The Olympic Mountains rise from the foothills in the front of the house, and the Straits of Juan de Fuca are on the other side. Few places on planet earth have mountains this high seemingly rising out of the sea. Since there are no public beaches on our street, we enjoy unparalleled quiet and tranquility.

One can sit for hours and watch the cruise ships, cargo ships and even submarines cruise through this amazing body of water. Bald eagles, seals and otters are also frequent guests.

Myself, kids and grandchildren were amazed when we walked into the Lighthouse Manor. The expansive water view was enchanting and the home had a cozy appearance with beautiful wall colors appropriate for an elegant beach home. The beds were comfortable and the kitchen had everything we needed. We often go to Seaside Oregon for entire family summer vacations, but this was much closer and the beach was only feet away.

We absolutely loved this house! There are already plans being made to come stay here again.

The house was a perfect set-up for our girlfriend getaway. The views from the front and back of the house are spectacular. It was so great to have beach access and we enjoyed many strolls up and down the beach. There wasn't anything we needed that wasn't already supplied and at the ready for our use.

Perfect waterfront vacation home😀

This home is a great spot for relaxation, while being within short driving distance from the entire upper peninsula of Washington. We are four 70 somethings who meet every year go relaxation, walking/hiking, eating good food and catching up. This house more than met our needs. It is spotlessly clean and well equipped with everything from bedsheets/blankets to kitchen appliances. Every bedroom was lovely and the beds were very comfortable. The home is only about 25 feet from the water and at certain times of the day you can walk quite a way on the beach. There is plenty to do in the area, although our main goal was to hang out and catch up with old friends. Sequim is a thriving community with grocery stores, restaurants, in abundance. It is not a fancy community, so you needn't take dressy clothes. It also doesn't cater to tourists, in that it has some fun shops, but it's an everyday community. You are close to Crescent Lake, Hurricane Ridge, and lots of outdoor activities.

The owners have put a great deal of care to provide a home that is inviting and comfortable. Would go back in a heartbeat! If you rent this property, you will not be disapppointed!!

Great location

Clean and in good shape. Right on the beach with beautiful views! Wish the deck was bigger to enjoy the beach views more, and we felt like a little more cleaning was expected than other houses we've rented (we've started dishwashers before but not been expected to clean it out before leaving). All in all a great location and nice house to stay in!

Great location. Put off by realty company's list of demands and fines. House not well-kept.

Great location. Really enjoyed our proximity to Dungeness wildlife refuge. Not aware this was not really a walking beach. House was fine but not well attended to before our stay. Spiders up in the corners of all the bedrooms. Windows not cleaned.

Our property managers (Sequim Valley Vacation Rentals) have always been VERY responsive and always do an excellent job cleaning and taking care of our guests (please see other reviews on how clean the house is). Their number is posted all over the house and you could have simply called them and they would have immediately come and addressed any issues you encountered. They are literally 10 minutes away. We will certainly talk with them and see what happened. We were not made aware of any problems nor of are there any "demands" or fines or fees. Lighthouse Manor sits directly on the beach and our guests have, for many years enjoyed miles of beachfront walking, beachcombing, clamming and crabbing.

Wonderful Location!

We love the location of this property. The water view is great and the people in the town are very friendly. We hiked just about every day in the National Park and even went to a few beaches. Would definitely recommend this property. It fit our family of 5 perfectly.

We loved our 5 night stay at the lighthouse manor. Comfy beds except the futon, it was hard as a rock. gorgeous setting with nice views of the beach and lighthouse. clean and comfortable
