Tranquility on the Deschutes near Sunriver. Completely renovated and renewed spacious 4000 square foot lodge on a secluded stretch of the Deschutes River with forest, wetland and mountain views. The house is located on a very private 2-acre site, at the end of a private road, just 10 minutes from the Sunriver Resort and half-an-hour from world-class skiing at Mt. Bachelor. This is an exceptional riverfront site with river and mountain views. The wetlands directly across the river are home to a range of enchanting wildlife -- including deer, elk, river otter, foxes, chipmunks, ducks, geese, eagles, and many other species of bird.
We are close enough to Sunriver to enjoy its amenities, many of which are accessible for full- and half-day rates, though away from all the hustle and bustle that comes with resort living.
The lodge is beautifully appointed with high quality, comfortable furnishings throughout. It has two large and spacious living areas, upstairs and down, six bedrooms and five bathrooms, a wrap-around covered deck with plenty of sturdy tables and chairs for outdoor dining, a large gas grill, outdoor hot tub, two large flat-panel TVs, free DSL and WiFi, plus all of the amenities that you might expect from such a place. (Please refer to the "amenities" tab for further details on these.)
The main level of the lodge features the Master Suite with king bed and large windows overlooking the river and wetlands beyond, plus access to the deck leading to the hot tub on the lower level. Two other bedrooms are on the main level: one with queen bed, across the hall from the master, the other with two twins. These two bedrooms share a common bath.
The lower level of the lodge has two bedrooms and a living area all with views of the river and wetlands. The hot tub is on this level, just outside the downstairs living area. Three bedrooms downstairs all have their own bathrooms; two with king beds, one with a queen. The lower lodge level features a second large living area that includes our very popular pool table, couches around the TV, and an additional futon couch that can be converted into a double bed. There is an additional sofa bed in one of the king bedrooms too. We provide bedding for both sofa/futon beds, as well as for all the other beds in the lodge of course!
If you have more than 15 in your party (or some members of your group would like their own bed/bedroom), you might be interested in adding "The Cottage" next door to your reservation. Together the lodge and the cottage sleep up to 25. When rented with the lodge, the cottage costs just an additional $195 per night.
The 1200 square foot cottage has five small bedrooms -- four with double beds, one with twin bunks -- a nice open living/dining area and a full kitchen. In addition to regular living room furniture, the cottage has couches alongside the windows which can serve as extra beds for a youngster or two (if they bring their own sleeping bags)! The cottage is also located right on the river. For more information about the cottage, see VRBO listing 153385.
The Riverside Lodge and Cottage share the private dock on the property, for ease of access to the river for swimming, floating and river trips. This is a great put-in/take-out spot! (Please bring all your own water toys and PFDs.)
The Riverside Lodge, with or without the cottage depending on the size of your group, is ideal for reunions/gatherings of families and friends, as well as for business retreats. A perfect place for a large group to enjoy all that Central Oregon has to offer.
An additional lodge on the same stretch of river (500 feet upstream) is also available--check out the 'Mountain View Retreat' VRBO #46606. Groups as large as 42 can be accommodated using all three houses.

Deshutes River Paradise!
The house is very comfortable and perfect for large groups. We added the cottage which is a rustic charmer and great for even larger events. Fire Season was low so we had wood delivered to site for campfire fun. Spent many wonderful hours looking at the view of the river and floating on it. I look forward to coming back soon. This place is a big thumbs up!
Beautiful home and convenient location
Thank you for opening your wonderful home to our group. The house was perfect with tons of space for everyone!
This is our second year renting this location for our annual family camp. Communication when booking and preparing to come was clear, prompt and friendly. Our stay was wonderful due to the comfortable accommodations. Everything was clean and the property has so much available- beautiful views as well as a great kitchen for prepping meals for a crowd. The new BBQ was a great improvement since last year which we very much appreciated! The close proximity to Costco, Cash and Carry and Whole Foods make this location ideal in every way!
Great place for large groups!
We loved our stay at the Deschutes Riverside Lodge! The home was the perfect size for our large group. The location and setting made for an incredibly relaxing time away, and it was still very close to various hikes in the Bend area. The home was very clean as well, and very cozy. We would definitely recommend this home!
Clean, roomy, great for groups, unparalleled river access
The Riverside Lodge was a pleasure to stay in. Everything was clean and ready for our visit. The property is secluded and quiet, with incredible access to the Deschutes and hiking trails. I'd definitely book this house again for a group getaway.
We had a great family reunion. There were about 20 of us from as far away as NY and Houston, as well as Ca. And Az. We loved being by the river to go on a float trip, fishing and just enjoying the river, geese flying over in the morning and watching the other people go by in boats or kayaks. A lovely lodge with everything
one would need. Also, the cottage was really cute and functional.
Very private location in beautiful Central Oregon, near the Sunriver Resort, on the Deschutes River with mountain, wetlands, and forest views. A wide variety of outdoor activities for all family members in all seasons.
