Peaceful Solitude with Historic Charm

Bedrooms 3
Half Baths2
Property type house
Minimum Stay 7 nights

About the property

3 bedrooms, 2 bathrooms, sleeps 5-7

Historic, secluded, handsome, 3-bedroom on Truro's Old County Road. Magical setting, overlooking Pamet Harbor. Painted by Edward Hopper in the 1930’s (see attached image). Tucked away at end of long private driveway on two acres of pine and locust forest.

Not your run-of-the mill rental, this is truly a special spot. The house itself is more than 200 years old, and has been maintained well, but with a full appreciation for its unique and historic character. Antique furniture. Plenty of sunlight. Pine floors and period wallpaper. Every room has a special aura, warm and reminiscent of another era. A wonderful space for entertaining or for peaceful solitude.

Water view. Picnic table in yard. Vegetable Garden out back. Comfortable, fully-functional and well-appointed eat-in kitchen with dishwasher. Large living/dining room, with fireplace. One sleep-able futon in its own room downstairs. Master bedroom with large dressing room and full bathroom with stall shower and pressure bidet. Middle bedroom with two single beds and large closet. Third bedroom cozy, charming. One full bathroom and two half bathrooms, as well as an outdoor shower and sink. TV & DVD player, and outdoor grill. Canoe provided, easy launch on site.

Preference (and discounts) given to longer rentals.

Why Danny Field chose Truro

This is a house that has been in the family for 50 years. For the past 15 years, we have been running it as a summer rental, and using it ourselves in the off-season.

Rentals are administered by several members of our family -- we all care deeply about, and for, the house and its setting.

Lovely Home!

  • 5 of 5

We stayed in this home for a week in August and found it very charming. Very private with a lovely walk from the yard over the marsh. Nice antique decorating touches but comfortable and homey. Lots of great reading material. Somewhat dated kitchen and appliances but all in working order. Really loved this place!

Quaint and Secluded Truro Rental

  • 5 of 5

My husband and I spent a relaxing two weeks at this wonderful home on the Pamet salt marsh. The house has been lovingly maintained, and has a real charm. The master bedroom is an exceptionally bright and comfortable room, and we enjoyed reading at night in the living room. When our son visited with his girlfriend, there was more than enough room (and three bathrooms). We really enjoyed the easy access to the beach, as well as the ability to eat and read outside- there are a number of picnic tables and chairs surrounding the house. Despite Truro's busy summer happenings, the house is tucked away at the end of a long driveway, with no other houses around, and we experienced a very peaceful vacation. We'll be back next summer, and highly recommend this rental house.

The house is located next to Pamet Salt Marsh, and looks out to Pamet Harbor. At high tide, it's possible to launch a canoe or kayak from the front yard, and paddle out to the bay. 10-minute walk to Fisher Beach (bayside) along marsh; 3 minutes by car. 8-10 minute drive to Ballston Beach (ocean side). It's an ideal location for walking, biking and quiet repose. The house abuts a small hill with spectacular views of Cape Cod bay and P-town beyond. Driveway has ample parking. Shops in Truro Center are 5-minutes by car. There's strong cell phone reception at house.
