GOULT: 2 bedroom house with great views, 2 minutes walk from the main square

Bedrooms 2
Space 484 sq. ft.
Property type house
Minimum Stay 7 nights

About the property

2 bedrooms, 1 shower, sleeps 3, in the heart of Goult

La Joliette, my little stone house which has been restored with care, enjoys an exceptional location in a calm, winding street in the medieval perched village of Goult, one of the most sought after villages in the Luberon. The view is fantastic and the countryside sumptuous with it's vineyards, lavender fields and cherry orchards. The house dates back centuries and has been beautifully restored using old materials.

Outside, on the landing, you can have breakfast or an afternoon drink in the shade of the vine and there is a beautiful vaulted cellar with exposed stonework, where you can keep cool in the summer. Come and experience genuine French village life in one of the most beautiful villages in France!

I also have another small house in Goult, "La Pitchounette" (property n° 1437837) advertised on this site as well as a studio apartment outside St.Saturnin-lès-Apt "La Remise" (property no 806593).

About Goult: Goult (population about 1.200) is still relatively unspoilt and less touristy than the other villages and has a very friendly and lively atmosphere with plenty of shops and restaurants, all within a couple of minutes walk from the house. There is a grocery store, a butcher, a bakery, a post office, several restaurants, and the 'famous' Café de la Poste, where lunch is served "en terrasse" in the summer and where you can find foreign language newspapers, order a café au lait in the morning, check your emails and do some people watching. So if you feel like staying put, there is no need to get into the car. A few of the open air markets are a must though. The Coustellet farmer's market on Sunday mornings is my favorite and all the best goodies of Provence can be found there: fruit & veggies, wine, cheeses, cured hams and sausages, olives and olive oil... The markets in Apt and in L'Isle sur la Sorgue are not to be missed either!

About Eva Parmelee

Hello, I'm Eva!

I'm a Swedish woman who ended up in the Luberon, Provence, France, nearly thirty years ago now. Time flies! I spent eleven years in the East Village, NYC in the seventies and eighties when it was nice an rough.

I'm the mother of two grown boys and I've been working with a bit of everything from dance and theater and restaurant management in the Big Apple, to selling and distributing olive oil in Provence.

Vacation rentals is my main activity (since 2004).

I have two more properties advertised on this site, "La Pitchounette" (property n° 1437837) in Goult and "La Remise" (property n° 806593) i a hamlet outside Saint Saturnin-lès-Apt.

I hope to see you soon in the Luberon!

La Joliette is a joy!

  • 5 of 5

Bon Jour Eva! What an amazing stay we had at La Joliette. And what a joy it was to meet you. We loved Goult in every way. The house was perfect for us. There is such comfort there. And Goult is perfectly situated for exploring the other villages. Hiking trails, walking the local roads, and the lovely streets of town. We miss the village, the boulongerie, epicerie, church bell ringing, the shop keepers and you! Thank-you, and we hope to see you again soon!

charmantes kleines Häuschen im Luberon

  • 4 of 5

Wir haben uns im Haus sehr wohl gefühlt und es hat nichts gefehlt, besonders reizvoll war die Lage mitten im Ortskern, so dass man zu Fuß zum Markt oder in das wunderbare cafe de la poste gehen konnte.

Goult is situated a 10 minute drive from the famous villages Gordes, Bonnieux, Menerbes and Roussillon and a 1 hour drive from Avignon and Aix-en-Provence. Paris and the CDG airport can be reached from the Avignon TGV train station in 2 hours and 40 minutes. Provence and the Luberon is truly the heart of Europe. Here you are within easy reach of the French Riviera, the Alps, Italy, and Spain. Barcelona can be reached by car in about 5 hours! Then of course there is the Camargue, Arles, Nîmes, Marseille, St.Rémy... The renowned wine regions Châteauneuf du Pape, Gigondas and Vacqueras are right next door as well as other, lesser known ones, but almost equally as good. It's for you to discover!
