This oceanfront luxury condo is furnished with top-of-the-line Tommy Bahama furniture. Recessed lights have been added to all the rooms which add a warm & cozy touch. Upgraded lighting fixtures have been added as well. The main living area can be separated or opened up to the master bedroom area to enhance the ocean-view with a modern & chic room divider made of frosted glass panels that can easily slide back and forth. You can prepare all the home-cooked meals you want in our fully equipped kitchen, complete with a stove, oven, microwave, blender, toaster, refrigerator, coffee-maker, and stocked with cooking and eating utensils. Enjoy your meal in the comfortable dining area or dine on the lanai for breathtaking beauty while you eat.
Should you desire to eat out there are three restaurants within walking distance. Just down stairs is the Five Palms Restaurant, a romantic, open-air restaurant with fine food and attentive staff serving breakfast, lunch and dinner. Even more enjoyable than the fine dining experience at the Five Palms Restaurant is the stunning panoramic view of the world-famous Wailea coastline. At the entrance to the Mana Kai Resort is Zacks, a convenient high end deli and general store featuring an exquisite collection of over 450 wines, a wide selection of liquor, a complete line of beverages, deli meats & gourmet cheeses and also an assortment of delicious desserts to feast on. A short stroll on the white sandy beach is Sarentos, a fantastic five star Italian restaurant.
ABOUT THE MANA KAI RESORT -
The Mana Kai Resort is located at the extreme south end of Kihei, which is a few hundred yards down the beach from Wailea, known for it's five-star luxury resort hotels. My wife and I grew up in Louisiana, but we LOVE the ocean. Ever since we honeymooned in Maui we've been going back to vacation as often as we can. As our family grew, we found Hawaii to be the perfect place to take the kids. They couldn't get enough of the ocean. They were just amazed the first time we took them snorkeling - they said, 'Cool, it's like swimming in giant a fish tank!' There was no question, we had to invest in our own 'Hawaii beach house.' Our two-bedroom deluxe ocean view superior suite, recently totally renovated (September) with Tommy Bahama furniture is our home away from home. The difference starts with our location, and by far one of the best. Located by the end of the building closest to the ocean. The front door is equipped with a coded push button lock, which offers the freedom of not having keys. The Lanai floored with 16 x 16 ceramic tiles and furnished with weaved polythurane-coated table,chairs and footstools. Sleep while listening to the ocean sound of the waves rolling. One bathroom offers a walk in rain shower with glass wall, which is unique to our facility but gives you the view of the entire coast of Maui. The second plush bathroom offers a full soaking tub and not just a standard tub. All bedrooms have 600 count linens on all beds with queen size feather pillows finished with black out curtains. Prepare all your home-cooked meals in our fully equipped Gourmet kitchen. This kitchen offers sub zero frig. (ice maker included) most do not, confection oven, micro wave, glass top stove, granite counter tops, and finished with low voltage lighting. In times of bad weather or just taking a break from the strong trade winds enjoy the central a/c through out the entire condo and not just a window unit located in one bedroom only. My husband and I enjoyed a wonderful week (plus) in #203 at the Mana Kai condo owned by a most gracious owner, Gary Young (and his wonderful wife Sandy). It was uniquely special to be able to meet both Gary & Sandy since they were in Maui when we were. You couldn't ask for more accommodating and gracious hosts! Gary made sure that we had everything we needed, our comfort was truly his top priority. The condo itself is in the perfect location. It is on one of the most beautiful beaches we have seen on the island with a perfect view of the coast and the offshore islands out over the water. Viewing sunsets from the balcony of the condo was exquisite. Being on the 2nd floor afforded us the feeling of being on the beach and immediate to all activities and the beach itself. We ate a great many of our meals at the table on the balcony to start our day and at the end of the day to watch the sunsets.
The condo is furnished with very comfortable and in new condition furnishings. The beds in both rooms were comfortable and we had no problem having a restful night. Having air conditioning in the unit was an added pleasure since it was hot and humid on several days. The back bedroom affords you a view up the coast towards the north part of the island. Both bathrooms are well furnished and we had all the towels we needed as well as soap, hair dryer and laundry baskets to use! The kitchen is well furnished and sufficient plates, pots and pans to prepare dinner and breakfast for many of our meals.
The condo resort itself offers a restaurant on the first floor as well as a deli that is indispensable for every little need you may have and a quick sandwich at lunch. There is also a snorkel shop on site where you can rent equipment, including bikes and kayaks. The pool is well tended and there are plenty of tables, chairs and recliners to use. We never had a problem with having room to relax there if we wanted to for the afternoon rather than going down to the sand. The grass area between the pool and the sand is perfect for keeping sand off while relaxing in the sun - and of course for watching sunsets. We had an assigned parking space and never had to worry about where to park even if the beaches were crowded. We were close to many restaurants and 5 minutes from the Grand Wailea Spa (a must)!
We look forward to renting from Gary again and highly recommend his condos. He has truly thought of everything for a worry free, relaxing vacation!
This condo exceeded our expectations! The owner Gary was also very responsive and accommodating when we asked to extend our checkout time, and when we had a minor maintenance issue. Here are just a few things I would want to know prior to booking:
The Mana Kai condo building has a pretty darn perfect location. It's in Kihei, which is on the southern side of Maui and is less crowded/touristy than the northern side of the island (Lahaina). The condo is a short 5-10 minute drive from downtown Kihei, which has several cute little restaurants, and you can also drive 5 minutes south and get to Wailea, which has more upscale dining and shopping. The view from the balcony (and really the entire condo) is spectacular - the beach is almost directly under the balcony and you see Molokini Crater in the distance! Other perks about the location are that the condo building has a great restaurant - 5 Palms - on the first floor, which has an excellent happy hour ($7 Mai Tai's!). The building also has a convenience store in it, which was super handy, and a grass covered beach area with chairs/showers provided. Really, it can't get much better than that! Oh wait, it's also 5 minutes from the boat dock, which comes in very handy if you are planning any water excursions.
One minor thing to be aware of: one of the bedrooms is basically connected to the living room, and at night there is a retractable wall that you move into place to "create" the bedroom. The bedroom is therefore not super private, and it can also get pretty hot at night because the air conditioning does not circulate properly when the wall is closed. However, this issues were very minor and we would undoubtedly choose to stay here again!
As most of the other reviews have said - this condo complex is in a perfect location. RIGHT ON THE BEACH and the snorkeling right outside the door is great. Mana Kai is perfectly located at the south end of Kihei - close enough to Kihei-town make for a quick drive to restaurants, groceries, equipment rentals, etc. but far enough off the beaten path to be a bit more quiet than the complexes that are right in Kihei. Great location for walks on the beach - north or south.
Gary (the owner) was a pleasure to deal with and this condo (#203) was very nice. Fairly-recently updated, comfortable and equipped with everything you need for your stay. If we come back to Maui, I will definitely be in touch with Gary to rent this unit again.
Our stay at the Mana Kai #203 was excellent. We felt like the location was perfect to be able to go and see all the things we wanted to see and do in Maui. The Mana Kai was very family friendly, in fact we made friends with a few different families also traveling with kids while we were there. The condo was perfect for our needs. Amazing views, extremely comfortable beds, kitchen with all the necessary items. Condo has air conditioning which was a nice comfort to have. Gary was amazing to work with. I highly recommend this condo!!

Locations says it all! Impossible to beat the awesome views and great beach access. The well stocked kitchen made it easy to cook in and enjoy breakfast, lunch or dinner on the lanai while listening to waves crash. Unit was fresh, clean and well maintained. Hope to return on day soon.
Situated on Keawakapu beach, consistently voted as one of the best beaches in Hawaii. Excellent snorkeling steps from your front door. Unbeatable, unobstructed views down to Wailea Point and Makena.
