The Wayback Cottage is perfect for a couple or a group of friends and family (up to eight) looking to enjoy a private and secluded getaway surrounded by the beauty of the Texas Hill Country.

Located in Dripping Springs, this spotless vacation rental truly lets you leave the world behind and spend quality time with fellow travelers. Explore or hike the property, then cuddle under the bright, star-filled sky. The main street of Dripping Springs is 13 miles away, and booming Austin is 33 miles for additional attractions and nightlife.

With a no-frills-needed atmosphere, this house feels exceptionally welcoming with wood floors, updated furnishings, and a flare of stylish decor.

Gather the group in the living room to catch a movie on the flatscreen TV (Blu-ray DVD player attached), stream music on the WiFi, and dive into a good book while lounging on the leather sofas. A nearby dining table for four is great for sit-down meals together followed by a laughter-filled game night.

A nice pop of teal on the kitchen cabinets brightens up the full kitchen. Not only are major appliances provided, but add-ons like a dishwasher, mixer, toaster, coffeemaker, French press, blender, and more make whipping up tasty meals a breeze. On warm evenings, head out to the patio table to dine al fresco and take in the clean, fresh air.

Come nightfall, retreat to any of the three bedrooms for a good night's sleep. The inviting master bedroom features a king-size memory foam mattress and en suite bathroom with a tub/shower combo. A queen-sized memory foam bed occupies the second room, which also has a full attached bathroom. The last bedroom has a full-size bed, a twin with a trundle, and a bathroom attached as well.

Wayback Cottage - Fantastic Experience!

This is exactly what we needed and were hoping for. Our home is being remodeled and we wanted a nice get away for a few days. Fantastic drive from the cottage to the falls. The cottage is quiet and exceptionally spacious. Its very clean and comfortable. We are a family of 5 but more could have be there with us and they would have been comfortable. We will be back and I just hope it is not booked when we want. Thanks John Marc!

New Years Wedding

My family stayed here so we could attend my nieces wedding on New Years Eve! The cottage is just lovely and very spacious. We were comfortable and had enough bathrooms and rooms for 7 people to get ready for the wedding. Plus the kitchen is stocked with everything you need. I would recommend this cottage and would stay there again. Very clean! Thanks John!

Our Thanksgiving Stay

The online listing for this cottage describes it perfectly. The cottage is well kept - no complaints whatsoever. There was plenty of space in the living room to do family activities, such as puzzles, games and watching TV - something my wife and I value due to the size of our family. There are trails on the property that is suitable for young children. And equally important, the owner made our stay convenient and without trouble by making sure we had everything we needed - from accurate directions to the rental to making sure our expectations were being met via email. Though our plans were somewhat impeded by the weather, that did not stop us from enjoying the local attractions. Our only regret was not being able to stay longer! We plan on coming back! Getaway with friends

We had a wonderful weekend at Wayback! The house had everything we needed and the owner was available and responsive to my questions and it was a welcoming space. It’s close to Pedernales (different map apps gave us widely conflicting ETA’s but the reality was around 25 minutes or so). We enjoyed a “nature walk” with the kids on the property also.

Owner is very engaging and cares that you have a great experience. House was as described. The fact you can walk the property is what sold us on the place since we have two small boys that aren’t ready for long hikes just yet.

Great place to stay

We were in town for a wedding. The place had three bedrooms and bathrooms which worked out perfect when 6 adults are getting ready at once. The place was very clean and the owner responded to any questions or needs we had. Highly recommended!

The name says it all...

This cottage really is "way back" out of the way - away from the crowds and traffic and noise. It is very peaceful. The house has a large living room and three bedrooms, each with it's own bath. We had two families in the house and we were very comfortable. Our questions for the property manager were promptly answered and the property had everything we need. The cleaner does a great job - it was immaculate!

As described!!

I booked this property based on reviews and description. Traveling with 6 adults for a wedding, we needed 3 bathrooms. We were not disappointed! The property is beautiful and the cottage layout was excellent. All 3 bedrooms were spacious with a private bathroom. The bedrooms are spaced away from each other for maximum privacy. Cottage includes anything you would need. Host communication was excellent, responding immediately to emails. Security deposit was refunded within 24 hours. We would love to revisit Wayback Cottage in the future.

Hill Country Beauty

We have stayed several times at this property and love it. It is kid friendly and at night under the beauty of the stars great for the adults to enjoy a drink on the patio. The house looks exactly as presented in the photos. The house is well equipped for a comfortable stay. Our favorite aspect is that it gives us an opportunity to enjoy the parks nearby. We have even taken some small hikes on the property. In the evening the kids look forward to the campfire with s’mores and out door games. The owner is polite and responds quickly which helps with our trips running smoothly. We have never had to contact him during the stay because everything works and is easy to navigate. Overall, I would highly recommend.

Clean and Comfortable

This little cottage is clean, kid-friendly, and comfortable for everyone. Felt much larger due to good use of space and is uncluttered with unnecessary furniture or Knick-knacks (which also makes it kid friendly). At the same time, it’s well-equipped with everything you could need. Towels and linens are more than adequate and things like dish soap and trash bags were provided. The owners were very quick to respond and very communicative, always offering to be as accommodating as possible. Everything was very clean and well taken care of. A little far out of town, so make sure you get what you need while you’re there, but quiet and secluded, which was nice.

Everything and more.

I ve never rented a homeaway property. Best experience! I had so many questions before we arrived and they were quick to respond. The property was beautiful and perfect for what we needed. Each bedrm had its own full bathroom which is important for traveling with 2 other couples. They allowed our dog to come which is so important to us since we lost our older lab this year. They left bags for collecting and a food dish(thank you). Everything you could possibly need is there. They have a tv and dvd wifi you can use but cant tell you about the picture because we didnt use them. I highly recommend this place. While you are there take some time to go for a walk and find some fossils and enjoy the Labyrinth they have made; we sure did. This place was a gem and we all cant wait to go back.

Great place!

We loved our stay here. We brought our two dogs, and they loved exploring the grounds with the kids. There are lots of little surprises, including an area with a lot of fossilized shells. The house is very clean and the beds and other furniture are very nice. The kitchen is well stocked. We didn't get to use the grill, but I was impressed that the chimney for starting charcoal looked new. FYI for people traveling with kids, the mattress from the tressle bed fits perfectly in the master closet, if you have a kid who isn't quite ready for a bed without sides.

Cozy and comfy!

While it might not be fancy, this cottage was very cozy and inviting. It was very clean and had all the necessary amenities and the beds and pillows were very comfortable. The owner met us upon arrival and even helped unload our bags! It was a perfect fit for my parents and our small kids and we loved that each bedroom had it’s own attached bathroom. Location was great for the wedding we attended and my kids loved exploring the land and finding cool rocks. We would definitely stay here again!

Clean, comfortable and very relaxing

The Wayback was everything my family was looking for. The house was very clean, welcoming and stocked with all the essentials we needed to cook all of our meals. It was super quiet and relaxing. The beds and linens were very comfortable and the blankets are the best. We totally plan on returning to the Wayback!!!!! We could not have asked for anything more.

Great secluded house in the hill country

We spent thanksgiving at the wayback cottage. Very nicely decorated and a well stocked kitchen that had everything we needed to make a mini turkey dinner for 4. We loved that each bedroom had its own bathroom and the bedding and towels were very cozy. Would come again!

Quiet and relaxing

The cabin was clean and well-equipped. We enjoyed cooking and hanging out with the family. It was also fun to hike through the property. The kids loved the collection of rock and minerals displayed around the cabin. Convenient to Pedernales Falls and Hamilton Pool.

Wayback in the Woods

Upon entering the property - I wasn't sure if we were at the right place - drive almost requires 4x4 or at least a elevated vehicle. Then as we drove in and saw the house, we were skeptical and then we walked in. It was adorable, comfortable, and I only wished I could have stayed longer.

Relaxing retreat

Secluded and Quiet

The place makes you feel very secluded and it’s nice and quiet. Beds were comfortable Air conditioning worked well. Nice views Only complaint is that the grass was not cut. There’s a fire pit and outdoor table but it was all grown over. The steps to the front door had grass that was at least 3 ft tall in front of the steps. Just would’ve felt they would’ve had that cleaned up knowing it was being rented. House was good but all the tall grass made it feel like it hadn’t been rented in awhile.

Nice and secluded. Very Quiet

Only one complaint. Grass wasn’t cut and everything was overgrown. The stairs had 3 ft tall grass in front of it. Otherwise the stay was fine.

Recommended!

Nice cabin away from the city. The three bedrooms and four baths made this place very accommodating. Fairly close to Hamilton Pool, which is a must see. But be sure to book weeks in advance or you will not get in. Everything went according to plan and would stay again.

Great Spot! Clean, quite and comfortable!

This house was exactly what we needed! It fit our group perfectly! We were able to cook at the house and enjoyed being way back! Thanks for a great stay! One thing is the fridge could have been a bit cooler, but it did get the job done! The shower heads were also either too hard or too soft with no way to adjust but we got used to it! Thanks for a fun week!!
