My family and I enjoyed staying at this breathtaking lake house last season and are now re-booking for next Summer's vacation. This house is absolutly beautiful and you can tell that the owners had spared no expense, it was done first class all the way. It's right on the lake and the panaramic lake views are like looking out on the ocean as there is nothing but water as far as you can see. The sand toys, canoe and tubes were a big hit with my kids. My family enjoyed taking long walks around town and on the beach and we enjoyed the beautiful sunsets every night. The lake house was very clean upon arrival and was everything and more than we expected from seeing the photos online. The village of Sylvan Beach is a cute quaint town with lots of shops and resturants to enjoy. Sylvan Beach had a car show and a country concert all in the same week! The kids especially enjoyed the amusement park and we enjoyed the steak and seafood place down the street. I would recommend this to anyone looking for a wonderful experience and vacation stay.
We stayed at the Sylvan Beach Lake House for our 5th year in a row and for some it was a first time ever, and from my 4 sisters and our 92-year-old mother down to my 2 grandchildren, we all loved it. The lake house, the deck and sunsets were all just spectacular. The house is well-appointed and clean. We liked how the kitchen and living room are one large room, that allowed us to be together but still have plenty of room. The wall that faces the lake is almost entirely glass, providing an incredible view from inside the house. The first couple days we were there were rainy, but even those days were enjoyable, watching the rain (and an intense thunder storm) over the lake. The kids loved playing in the lake and beach, and several of us had fun in the canoe and tubes. Brenda was always quick to respond to any questions we had, both before we went and while we were there. The area was quiet, the sunsets breathtaking. This was a long overdue, much needed vacation, and we are grateful to have been able to spend time together as a family and at such a nice place. Booked again for next Summer!
Beautiful home with all the amenities for every age. Comfortably accommodated eight of us. Outstanding sunsets and peaceful mornings overlooking the lake. Was the perfect place for us to trek to Niagara Falls, Lake Ontario, Howe Caverns and the Adirondacks.
My husband and I were so pleased with our stay at Twin Peaks, that we made reservations for this year and just can't wait to get back. The "camp" is unlike any place we have ever stayed. Every room was so clean and decorated with great taste. We enjoyed the beautiful sunsets every night by the camp fire. During the day we went on the water, and enjoyed the sun and sail boats. We were close to great restaurants and the amusement park. One night we went to the park to listen to the live music. The best vacation, can't wait for this summer’s stay
Am so looking forward to another great stay at Twin Peaks.
The accommodations were spot on, all you could ask for to make the stay awesome, very clean and well stocked if you want to cook in.
We found some great restaurants and some vegetable stands with fresh farm produce, and it was close to the Casino and the race track.
The manager was so easy to deal with and we received our security deposit the week after we returned home.
Can't wait to go back again this summer.
The house is located in a very quaint town in NY and offers your basic amenities. By definition, it is not luxury yet nicely appointed for a relaxing getaway and the sunsets are stunning. The biggest plus is the location on the lake yet wished there was better access into the lake from the house. It was nicely cleaned, the windows offer maximum view of the lake and it was nice having fireplaces on chilly nights. The sandbox for kids was a special treat for the little one - glad we brought sand toys ourselves.
The house truly accommodates ONE family with kids. The open loft is not private to accommodate adults and other rooms are for kids only. The are "leftover" pots and pans - someone should buy a set of pots and pans and better cooking utinsels but thankfully we grilled most of the time. The owner did not tend to dirty garbage cans which were reported upon arrival - so we dealt with the nuisance of flies. We had to clean the grease out of the grill ourselves - not appetizing (both the grilling rack and the grease catcher). We also had to provide propane for it - which was kindly offered to be reimbursed. The canoe did not have any oars so we borrowed from a kind neighbor. There's no dock as pictured on the house - it may have been washed away. Overall, it's an average property on a heavenly slice of the lake and it's very tranquil. The town was filled with nostalgia and a couple of solid places to eat (Canal View Restaurant; Oyster house). It certainly should be priced more appropriately and the kitchen supplies should be upgraded and cleaned thoroughly. Typically, we've had houses that provide a lot more information on the area and what to do yet it was nice to find our way around for once. It was nice and recommed for small family who wants to enjoy the lake and the kids enjoying the yard and cycling around town.
The road on which the Twin Peaks Cottage sits is local traffic, kid friendly road. There are three deep-water marinas with in a short distance. Sylvan beach is the Jewel of the inter-coastal waterway joining the New York Harbor to the St. Lawrence River. Sylvan Beach is on the East side of Oneida Lake and enjoys the most spectacular sunsets and wide open amazing skies. There are plenty of things to do in this resort town including casinos, horse racing, fishing, golfing, fine dining, and great night life. Sylvan Beach supports tourism with activities throughout every week of the summer. Amusement parks, canal fest, weekly car shows and concerts -Sylvan Beach has it all.
Come join us for your next vacation in style and with a touch of eloquence!
