Everything the Big Island has to offer. Welcome to Kona OneNalo, a community of 12 private homes in a gated oceanfront community. Your rental borders one of the best snorkeling areas on the Big Island and is 200 yards from Magic Sands Beach. You can snorkel, surf, scuba, swim or just sunbathe on the beach, all within 200 yards of your front door.
Your home has two lanais from which to sip your morning Kona coffee and view the spectacular Pacific ocean and Kona coastline. Watch the surfers from the lanais when the surf is up. Let the waves lull you to sleep while you watch the stars from the master bedroom. Wake to the calls of tropical birds and the sounds of the surf. Plumerias and gardenias are among the lush landscaping surrounding Kona OneNalo. Massive lanai doors permit unfettered views of the surf from both the first and second floors.
This home boasts a three-story cathedral ceiling in the living room and cathedral ceilings in the bedrooms. The master bedroom is furnished with a California king bed and a TempurPedic mattress. The second bedroom has twin beds which can be configured to a king. Both bedrooms have private baths. There is a den with a trundle bed that opens out to two twin beds. A full dining room and a gourmet kitchen make mealtimes a breeze.
The house is decorated with many works of art with an emphasis on local artists and their work. The Hawaiian ambiance is carried out with koa trim throughout the home and an assortment of glass fishing floats.
Kona OneNalo is minutes from Kahulu'u Beach, perfect for snorkeling and surf lessons and populated by amazing tropical fish and sea turtles. There are many golf courses nearby for golf enthusiasts, and the pool and adjoining whirlpool/spa at Kona OneNalo are steps away from your door. You are centrally located on Alii Drive, only four miles from the center of Kailua-Kona and one mile from the Keauhou Bay community.
Further afield you can visit Volcanoes National Park, the Mauna Kea observatory or the famous black sand beaches.

My husband and I first went to Hawai'i in 1967 and were captivated. It took more than 30 years before we actually bought a house. We live on the East Coast, but decided it was truly worth the 10 hour flight to be able to spend time in Hawai'i.

Spacious home on a beautiful ocean lot
Check-in was easy, and having two assigned (we only need one) parking spots was pretty nice. Communication with Susan was prompt and she even called to confirm a couple things. Its nice to talk to the owner of the property.
There was beach access on the property, and we had no problems getting in to scuba, but I could see how it could be dangerous for someone elderly or children. Theres so much to see right there, plenty of fish and turtles.
The home was well stocked with towels, dishes, even a Britta water filter in the fridge so you dont have to purchase bottled water.
The master bedroom has its own lanai that overlooks the ocean. It was fantastic!
We Overall we had an excellent stay, the only reason for reducing by one-star is the street noise. The home, although gorgeous and ocean front, is located at a 3-way stop where you hear loud music from cars stopped, and engine noise round the clock. I somehow missed that it didnt have AC, my filters must've cleared while doing my search. This was our first stay on Kona (out of 10+) without AC, however there's a nice breeze and ceiling fans keeping you comfortable.
Again, despite reducing one star for the street noise, we would stay here again. This time prepared possibly with earplugs.
Great view and location.
Close to golf, shopping and great restaurants. Short drive to the harbor for whale watching, snorkeling and fishing trips. The kitchen is well stocked and the beds are very comfortable. We loved eating our meals on the deck overlooking the pacific. Great home.
Fantastic location and best view around
This house is in a phenomenal location and has an amazing view to boot. We just spent a week there with our adult kids and their two friends and the house is plenty big enough to accommodate six adults. The downstairs lanai occupied large amounts of our time relaxing, having a cocktail, and enjoying the sunset. The upstairs lanai was a private get-away for my husband and myself. The best part of the day was the morning and hearing the birds chirping while taking in the fabulous view from the master bedroom.
We enjoyed cooking breakfast everyday, packing lunches, and even bbq'ing on the lanai. Having six people with us, we only ate out for one meal a day. The kitchen is stocked with every item one could possibly need - including two coolers which we used on a daily basis.
The house is also stocked with beach towels, boogie boards, floatation toys, snorkels, etc. We enjoyed snorkeling right out in front of the house (be careful of sea urchins), and used the beach towels everyday.
The best part of this house is the location. For those wanting a sandy beach, it is less than a five minute walk to Magic Sands. Our kids went there frequently to enjoy a beverage and some body surfing. The house is very close to downtown Kona where shopping and excellent restaurants await (we loved the Kona Inn). Additionally, there is a KTA grocery store, urgent care, and Long's Drugs in a shopping center five minutes away (yes, we had to use all of those!). Costco is only a short drive as well.
We also enjoyed the spa on the property and for those with young kids, they would love the pool.
I highly recommend this as a great place to stay!
Who needs Maui? Kailua-Kona on the Big Island is paradise!
Our one-week stay at Kona OneNalo was way too short! So much to see and do and so little time. This place turned out to be perfect in every way for our family of two adults and three teens. The accomodations are accurately described elsewhere. Plenty of room, comfortable for everyone, cool breezes through huge sliding doors, excellent wifi with great bandwidth, clean and well equipped. Check-in and check-out were simple and trouble-free. Breakfast on the lanai was a joy, watching the surf, listening to the birds, and surrounded by lush green gardens. We even ate fresh bananas and limes growing in the complex, provided to us by the grounds keeper.
Body surfing at the Magic Sands Beach is just a 5 minute walk (one of the best beaches on the Big Island). Close to shopping and many restaurants. We learned about Kona Coffee, Captain Cook, black sand beaches, and lava flows. Took selfies at the southern-most-point in the 50 states! The kids took surfing lessons at Kahaluu Beach Park, just down the road. Ate and drank way too much at the luau at the Sheraton, just minutes away. And my 15-year-old son caught a 374-pound Blue Marlin on a sport fishing trip. We have memories to last a lifetime!
Susan is a caring and responsive host. We look forward to staying here again!
Great family accomodation
Our family stayed 9 nights for a reunion and found everything we needed and more at this property. Opening the huge front glass wall to let in the morning breeze off the lanai was just wonderful! View - amazing. Two back bdrms a bit noisy with the road traffic but hundreds of other accommodations are on the same road, so pretty hard to get away from it if you want the splendid view - a pair of earplugs and no problem. The master suite is GRAND! Convenient to downtown - just down the road, a trolley goes by every two hours for only $1.50 each way which saves looking for parking. The grounds and pool were meticulous and clean. Susan was quick to respond to our several inquiries and the receipt of keys, etc was well organized. We appreciated the boogie boards, umbrellas, coolers and travel beach chairs. For two couples and some kids it is a perfect spot. We would absolutely stay in the same unit again. Maholo!
beautiful waterfront location
Highly recommended for anyone wanting to stay directly on the waterfront. View of the Pacific directly from the living room and bedrooms.
Clean and well stocked.
Other Activities: wildlife viewing, rock climbing, basketball court, boating, shopping, kayaking, spa
