LOVED LOVED LOVED IT....

  • 5 of 5

We came to Lake Placid with friends we travel annually with. This has been our 20th year. Camp Bearberry was by far our best rental. It had everything...the most comfortable accommodations, the serene setting with unbelievable sun rises, and overall layout of the house. Everyone had their own space, and we never felt cramped. Each bedroom was beautifully decorated and had its own full bathroom, a real plus for our age group. Everyone picked a night to fix dinner and the kitchen was perfect...lots of laughs and work space.

Kathie was most helpful throughout the process of the rental. She had a lease for us and

kept us informed from beginning to end of our stay...our security deposit was returned

within days of our stay...Our rental was processed in a most professional way so that we felt very comfortable....the house has been a rental for 18 years we were told....

We cannot wait to return as there was something for everyone to do. Town was so close but we enjoyed the winding road past the golf course to our private "INN" to our majestic views of the mountains and lake. ....the leaves were incredible also. Cannot say enough.

Fantastic, magical property. Amazing stay!

  • 5 of 5

This property exceeded everything you imagine when checking it out online. There is no hyperbole or inaccuracies in the online listing. Based upon our experience, if you are considering this rental, do it. You will not be disappointed in any aspect.

First of all, the setting is drop dead gorgeous sitting directly on the lake, with what seems like one of the better close-up views available along with White Face to the left. Facing east the sun rises on the face of the house. Mornings, we tended to have coffee on the dock or the porch and immerse ourselves in watching the sun burn off the almost mystical mist upon the lake. Even in mid September, our early rising 22 month old grandson insisted in playing at this hour in the water at lakes edge. Directly across were unspoiled views of forested island. We swam daily.

Our family gathered for a wedding at the almost-next-door Whiteface Club and Resort and the three minute walk took us to the venue and the boathouse/restaurant.

The accommodations were comfortable and the private baths for each of the rooms were greatly appreciated and of hotel quality. The rooms themselves were spacious with good closet space and beds. What we did not derive from the pictures was the very special game room and a set of books and toys that delighted young ones.

Finally, the owner was easy to deal with, very gracious and professional. If you are looking for a beautiful place to stay with serenity and tranquility with an emphasis on the adirondack experience, this is the place.

Camp Bearberry makes you happy!

  • 5 of 5

Our annual winter family vacation this year took us to Lake Placid, as we have decided to keep changing mountains for the benefit of different experiences. The town of Lake Placid is the most beautiful and entertaining so far! The house at Camp Bearberry is everything you would want for your overall vacation experience, and the location is ideal! The prior reviews just about include all there is to say. The house is absolutely charming, well stocked, and ideal for one or more families. We cooked, snuggled, played games, and relaxed at Camp Bearberry. The window views are amazing; they put you in the best of moods. I look forward to returning, whether it be winter or summer. Kathie has presented this home in a very special way, with every nook filled with charm and nostalgia. Gary is there to greet you and make sure that you have everything you need. He will even give you a brief history of the original home which is quite interesting. So far, our third annual ski vacation this year, has been the best experience so far. You will absolutely love it!

Breathtaking Views. Charming House

  • 5 of 5

We had the pleasure of staying a week at the very charming and comfortable Camp Bearberry. The house is fully equipped and decorated tastefully with antiques and collectibles. Every bedroom has its own en suite, which is a rare find. There were twelve of us for most of the week and even up to fourteen and we never felt crowded.

The outside amenities would be hard to match. There is a huge dock with plenty of furniture. It faces Whiteface Mountain and the Adirondacks. Quite frankly, it was difficult to leave this beautiful property to sight see. However, we did! There is a lot to do in this area and town is a five minute drive. Grocery stores and anything you may need is close by.

There is the option to rent their boat. We did and it was worth it.

Kathie and Gary, the owners are wonderful to work with. They are responsive and lovely people.

Hopefully, we will back someday for another family reunion.

perfect adirondack camp

  • 5 of 5

We picked camp Bearberry for our family vacation inclusive of our four grandchildren. We could not have been happier with our selection and both the accommodation's and setting. Kathie and Gary (the owners) were excellent host, providing for our every need and delivering the house at a level that exceeded our expectations.

The large house was both comfortable and intimate. everything that we needed was right at hand. We would definitely return, perhaps for years to come as our family continues to grow as we feel we have found the perfect vacation spot for all.
