About Marlene Kellett
My husband and I have been married for 42 years and had 2 children who are both adults. We live in Columbia, Maryland which has allowed us to make frequent visits to our vacation home. For many years we have been in business together. We owned an adult education business, mail order business and also were printing brokers. Since 2003, I have been managing and renting our Big Bass Lake home which is now our only business. It has been a 'labor of love' and it is our pleasure to provide a rustic, comfortable home to our renters, many of whom come back year after year.
Marlene Kellett purchased this House in 2003
Why Marlene Kellett chose Gouldsboro
My husband and I searched for months (In Maryland, Delaware, West Virginia, Florida and Pennsylvania) for a vacation home that would be a nice second home for us. It would also have to be attractive to other people so that we could rent it out to help defray the costs. We knew instantly that our Big Bass Lake home was the right one and put in an offer on the same day we saw it. It was a large, rustic, comfortable home, with a very desirable position on the lake. We loved the house, the setting, the view and the Big Bass Lake community. We found the community to be first class with amenities that would appeal to everyone. We also liked the fact that our home was located close to the heart of the Poconos. It offers the best of both worlds – a pristine, quiet, safe community which celebrates nature, not far from so many ‘things to do’ for us and our renters.
What makes this House unique
Our home is located on the east shore of the lake with a panoramic view. The sunsets over the lake are gorgeous! We also have the best dock on the lake (with seating), a sandy area for children’s play and seating as well as an area to launch our boats. The community has a very natural, country feel to it with lots of mature trees, natural grasses, shrubs and large yards. Parking is ample (both in our driveway) and in our own off-the-street space in front of our home. There is also parking at the beach and pool/clubhouse complex. Our beach and pool are close enough so that you can walk there. Our home is spacious with several ‘common areas’. The 5 bedrooms are roomy and comfortable. Our beds are good quality and we have lots of them! There is unlimited hot water as we have a ‘pass through’ system. The kitchen is generously stocked with dishes, glass ware, utensils, pots and pans, serving platters and bowls, etc. Our air conditioner is very quiet and will provide you with 30,000 BTU’s of power. Seating in our dining room/kitchen will accommodate a large group. The game room has a professional quality pool table, air hockey and a huge TV with many premium channels. Of course, we have Wifi as well. Telephone reception is good.

No one wanted to go home!
This was the perfect home for our family! There was plenty of space - bedrooms, bathrooms, dining area for us and our married sons and their families. The owner provided everything that was needed for a wonderful stay. The home and the porch and hot tub were very clean. The additional amenities made for a fun and relaxed time. The view is beautiful and the setting is peaceful. We have no complaints and are grateful to have found such a lovely place!
We loved Big Bass Lake! The house was perfect for our weekend getaway. The children went fishing, canoeing, and especially loved the hot tub. The house was immaculate. It was very spacious. It was an overall wonderful trip and we would stay there again.
Awesome place to relax
The house was great. We all loved it. The kitchen really well stocked. Comfortable beds. Kids had lots of fun. The owner very responsive and a pleasure to deal with.
Wonderful home for family retreat
My extended family and I spent a long weekend here. We loved our stay. This home has lots of space for a big family to convene and not feel like they are all on top of each other. There are so many spots for gathering and playing, or stepping away from everyone. The few steps to the dock to fish were wonderful. The home is well cared for, has everything we needed. The hot tub was great. Marlene was responsive and easy to communicate with. We hope to go back!
Above our expectations
House was very clean, kitchen was full of dishes, nice property with a lot of car spaces. Very easy to reach landlord . Everything met our expectations and above. We were enjoy stay there.
Best time ever!
Our annual girls weekend was spent here this year. This was our second time renting the property. It's spacious and right on the lake! The hot tub water was a bit low when we arrived, but "Bud" showed up as the first 2 women arrived, he filled the hot tub and left his number in case we had any issues at all. We did not. Thank you Bud! And the owner was pleasant and very easy to deal with. We had a blast! Kitchen had a brand new dishwasher as well as a few other pleasant upgrades. Plenty of beds, plenty of room. Awesome neighbors who helped us out with group photos too..
