I have lived in New England all my life, graduating from Harvard, attending medical school in Worcester and completing a residency at Brigham and Women's and Mass General Hospitals. I currently work as an Ob/Gyn in Massachusetts, where I am raising five children after divorcing in 2011.
Michelle Cochran purchased this house in 2008
I have always been in love with the area--it is so beautiful and there is so much to do. When I got married in October, 2004, there was nowhere else we would rather celebrate than under the colorful foliage of the White Mountains. Later, I was thrilled to find a lot in the perfect location. After spending a few years pitching a tent and camping on the lot we were finally able to build our home in the winter of 2008. The house is a warm and welcoming place I try to share with family and friends whenever I can.
One can be in the middle of everything North Conway has to offer, yet avoid all of the traffic and chaos which detract from the experience.
I planned a long weekend get-together for brother, sisters, and spouses in North Conway, and we could not have been more pleased. This West Side Road home was quite spacious, very clean, and had comfortable mattresses that everyone commented about. The bathrooms were extremely nice, and having four of them is a real luxury! The fireplace in the living room was just enough to take the chill off during the spectacular fall days. This North Conway location is centrally located for so many wonderful experiences, but avoids the major traffic of Route 16 through town. We took the scenic train from town up through Crawford Notch one day, attended a fabulous performance and great food one evening at the Stone Mountain Arts Center in Brownfield (a short 25-30 minute ride), attended the amazing Fryeburg Fair another day, and fit in a quiet stroll at Diana's Baths and more serious hiking to Mount Washington as well. Though we spent little time shopping, the outlets in town are definitely a mecca for those so inclined. When we weren't cooking up a feast at home, we enjoyed scrumptious breakfasts at Peaches, and delicious salads and pizza at Flatbread in town, and a great lunch at The Back Burner restaurant in Brownfield. The owner was extremely pleasant and accommodating when we called to add an additional day to our trip. Wish we could have added an additional week, but there is always next year! We will definitely return if we are able, and highly recommend this very convenient and comfortable "home away from home."
This house was beautfully decorated and clean. Perfect for our summer family vacation. My kids enjoyed feeding the horses every morning and making smores on the gas fire pit. There was plenty of space for the whole family.
The house was located near everything. We went swimming at echo lake, hiking up diana's bath waterfall, story land with the kids and a 45 min drive to santa's village. And clark's trading post was a blast.
We are looking foward to getting back to the white mountains again.
Thank michelle for sharing your home with us.
Love the shumbo's
This North Conway house is large, clean, and located within convenient distance to all White Mountain activities. We hiked several days, visited Mount Washington, and spent several days kayaking or lounging around at various swimming holes. Large back-yard, grill and gas-fired pit on the back patio. The horses next store were a novelty for us. Michelle was very accommodating and very helpful, and the house is just as billed. Especially nice is that while a five minute drive away from Conway and North Conway, with plenty of restaurants, stores, etc., the location on West Side Road avoids the majority of the summer July traffic and, while near several other homes, is fairly secluded and quiet. We would definitely consider coming back to this property when we come back to New Hampshire. Thanks!
Great House! Great location to everything you need in North Conway! Cant wait until next year!
Our stay here felt just like a "home away" from home. The spacious open floor plan allows for great entertaining, yet the upstairs bedrooms and four bathrooms allow for privacy. Although it sleeps 8, one of the sleeping spaces is in a small living room on main floor and is not private. Surprisingly, the futon in this room is actually very comfortable! Amazing as well is the location. Minutes from down town N.Conway, and set far back with roaming horses next door, provide a welcoming picturesque escape from the city! We highly recommend this home!
We had a fantastic time visiting North Conway. The area is fantastic, with wonderful rivers and mountains to entertain a family with 5 children and 3 adults. The house was wonderful, and having the game room downstairs is a HUGE plus with so many children. The yard is fantastic, and the kids loved petting the horses next door. The house is brand new, however, the pre-arranged cleaning services had not come before our visit. The owners were fantastic. They jumped in a car, and drove the 5 hours from their vacation to come the next day and clean themselves. This is a beautiful spot, 5 minutes from everything, and the home is wonderful, with wonderful owners.
Very close to outlet malls and every outdoor activity possible in the White Mountains!
