About Mia Sheppard
Mia and Marty first met on Mt Hood in 1992. In 2003 they purchased a year around guide service Little Creek Outfitters. In 2006 they got married and in 2007 their daughter Tegan was born. Marty was born and raised in Oregon and grew up on the banks of the Sandy River. With his dad as tutor and angling mentor, Marty landed his first steelhead at the age of five. During the 70s his dad continued to hone and shape [perhaps unknowingly] Marty’s future by taking him fishing, seemingly every day, and instilling in him the instincts and techniques for pursuing steelhead. Much of his fly-fishing inspiration came from devouring books, especially those written by such notable and insightful naturalists as Roderick Haig-Brown and Bill McMillan. Mia is a world champion spey caster, accomplished guide, conservationist, upland bird hunter, snowboarder, and mother. She grew up in Tennessee, chasing trout and hiking the beautiful Great Smoky Mountains. Fly fishing caught her attention in 1996 and in 2003, Mia started her guiding career on the John Day River. Mia soon became efficient at casting both a single and double hand rod and is now recognized as one of the top women spey casters in the industry and has used her casting skills to raise over $18,000 for Casting for Recovery. When she isn’t on the river, or being a mother, she is working to engage more women and children in the sport of fly-fishing and the outdoors through her company Juniper River Adventures.

Very comfortable place to stay. Enjoyed the view of the river as well as falling asleep listening to it. Stayed for work, will definitely return for vacation.
Great fishing weekend
My son and I met for a weekend of fishing on the Deschutes and the accommodations were fantastic. Would recommend this rental.
Thank you for staying ! Mia
We enjoyed our stay. The accommodations were clean and comfortable. We had my 86 year old father and he loved the view of the river from the windows. We will definitely be back! Very gracious and helpful hosts as well!
Spacious with a view
Great set-up in the lower half of the owner's home. Plenty of room, and equipped well for our boys fishing trip. The owner was very accommodating to meet our needs. Will certainly stay here again.
