Le Touyot is a spacious 4 bedroom property that comprises half of a 19th centuary savoyard farmhouse. The beautifully converted house nestles at the foot of the mountains in the Giffre Valley in the hamlet of Sougey, 3km from the medieval town of Samoens and the main ski lift into the Grand Massif Skiing area. The open plan ground floor has 1 metre thick stone walls with internal wooden cladding. A spacious living area has an enormous comfy corner sofa that all guests can collapse into at the end of the day in front of a woodburner. The kitchen is well equipped with plenty of workspace and the dining area has a large oak table that seats up to 12 guests.
The down stairs WC has storage space for drying ski boots, gloves and helmets. Skis can be stored in the ancient stone cellar (which is unheated) which is reached by external stone steps next to the front door.
Wooden stairs lead from the living area to the first floor with 2 bedrooms and a seperate WC - one twin bedroom and one larger bedroom with 2 twin beds and bunk beds with balconies looking over the garden and the mountains. Please note that the stairs between the ground floor and first floor are quite steep and narrow with a turn at the end and may not be suitable for those with infirmaties.
The main bathroom has a large walk in shower and mountain views through the window as you relax in a huge sunken bath.
The top floor has 2 further double bedrooms and a shower room and WC. The main bedroom on this floor has a balcony with glorious mountain views. The second double room with mountain views to the rear has an additional cabin bed under the eaves.
Outside is a patio area and sunny open garden with stairs down to the cellar where bicycles and garden furniture are kept for guest use in the summer.
