Great Area

  • 4 of 5

My family including three generations, celebrated my 70th birthday here. We found the house to be very comfortable for the 9 of us. We loved the fact that we could bring our dogs. There is plenty of space to spread out or hang out together. Our daughter and her family live close by in MI. She brought her canoes and kayaks , which we could launch from the private beach and boat dock. Unfortunately the weather was too windy to get much use of the beach and water front, but our daughter did enjoy one sunset paddle in her kayak. We had family fly in to nearby Grand Rapids which was a quick drive away. There are lots of shops and restaurants to enjoy in Holland and surrounding areas. The beach's of Lake MI are like being at the Ocean. We would definitely book this home again.

Great for family

  • 5 of 5

Our family loved the beautiful view, the swimming off the dock, especially when Lake Michigan was too wavy. We found this to be a beautiful, welcoming, well maintained place where we could feel at home.

Great for Large Groups

  • 5 of 5

I have rented this vacation home with a large group of friends twice a year (Fall & Spring), now going on our 4th year and would highly recommend this house in a beautiful location. Our group doesn't care for anything super fancy, but wanted a house that had enough space to not feel cramped as a large group, yet plenty of kitchen/dining/living space to build lifelong memories. This is the house for that! On the practical side, the house is equipped with everything you'll need (kitchen has a lot of stuff to cook with!), the beds are great, and most of all the lake view is amazing from the house (large living room windows), patio deck, or the boat dock! When our group was initially looking for a house this owner was by far the most responsive and accommodating to any need or questions that we had. Holland is a fun place to hang out, there are plenty of restaurants, breweries, and shops. We couldn't be happier with this vacation home!

Wonderful weekend away!

  • 5 of 5

I rented this home with a group of friends (we're in our late 20s) looking for a relaxing weekend away from Chicago. It was a great fit -- plenty of beds for everyone to sleep comfortably, a huge family room and dining room for us all to enjoy time together, a gorgeous sun room for some quiet time, and of course the beautiful lake right in our backyard. Fully stocked with everything we needed (including plenty of fun board games!). The owner was very nice and able to accommodate us even with our very last minute rental request. The location was perfect as well, a quick drive from the best ice fishing spots and the adorable downtown streets of Holland. We had no idea it was such a great town with so many restaurants, breweries, etc. Highly recommended!

Great family vacation, property could use some updates.

  • 3 of 5

We chose this property to celebrate my mom's birthday with a family reunion. We had a wonderful time with family and friends. Overall the property worked for what we needed it for. It was clean and the air conditioning worked well. :-) The view of the water from the house is great. The view of the pickle factory across the water is not so great. The water had green silt in it everyday so we did not swim at the house. We were able to dock our boat (launched from the park nearby) to go out to cleaner water, the Holland State Park, and out to Lake Michigan. The outside picnic areas and shade were perfect and so was the grill. Inside the 1st floor worked out great. Lots of kitchen space, dining area, and lounging chairs. It allowed us to do many things together creating memories that will last a lifetime. The sleeping arrangements are the main place where the property fell short. The pull out couch in the living room is practically falling apart. If the list is going to say it has a pull out to sleep on it should be functional. The bedroom at the top of the stairs to the left had an issue with a water leak that the owner started to address as soon as we reported it to him. I am sure by now it has been corrected. I would ask if it has been before counting on using that room. Otherwise the beds are very comfortable and there are lots of them. The owners of the property were very nice and accessible to answer all of our questions. The location of the property is wonderful in that it is close to a wonderful Dutch bakery, the local ice cream hot spot, Holland State Park, and downtown Holland.

Owner's Response: Tim, I was wondering why you posted this response 6 months after your visit. You told me everything was great. I responded immediately when you informed me of the leak in the one bedroom. I got it repaired in a day and it has not leaked since. I would like to ask if you would reconsider the rating you gave and consider a 4 star rating. The pull out sofa had a broken spring and that was repaired. Please consider my request. Thanks, AL
