There was no mention of additional fee for early/ late check out on the HomeAway post. When I emailed to ask for late check out I was informed that it was an additional fee. I do not mind additional charges as long as they are upfront. I ended speaking to Claudia at Tahoe Truckee Vacation Properties and she didn't understand what I was saying. It took a while, but in the end she understood, but was unwilling.I asked to speak to her manager - Kate (I think). Claudia said Kate would call me back.
Everything was okay in the house. They did provide us with hotel sized bars of soap which is a pet peeve of mine. I mean really??? 4 night and a family of 5 with 4 hotel sized bars of soap.
Additionally, there was no way to recycle. Another HUGE pet peeve. We left the recycling inside a bag on the kitchen floor. I'm not confident the items made it to recycling.
We used the guest pass for the recreation center on our 2nd night. The guest pass was "confiscated" because it was expired. I called management company and told them and asked for updated cards ASAP so that we could go back to the pool - we have 3 kids under the age of 8 years. Claudia was able to get a hold of the home owners and get new cards, but she told me to go to member services. NO. I'm on vacation and this was part of the package. The cards were on our kitchen counter when we returned that afternoon. I also mentioned that her manager never called me back.
All in all it was an okay experience, but I will not rent a property that is managed by Tahoe Truckee Vacation Properties.
