About Christa Cranston
After quitting our own business (Mark) and corporate job (me) and then selling our home with everything in it, we travelled the US in our motorhome for what came to be 6 wonderful years! We drove our motorhome to Joshua Tree in 2004 to visit friends and never left. It is a beautiful place!
Christa Cranston purchased this House in 2005
Why Christa Cranston chose Joshua Tree
It's seclusion but close proximity to town makes this a lovely location. We love that it sits on a dead end street, never having to see or hear through traffic. Your neighbors are the rocks and mountains this home sits up against. Peace and quiet..

This place is amazing!
We absolutely loved our stay here. All the amenities of home and then some. The hot tub was the perfect way to end our day after our adventures in the park. The kitchen had everything we needed and more. In fact we probably should have gone there first before the grocery store bc we ended buying a few things already there. The location was peaceful, unique, and private yet only a short drive into town. We'll definitely be back. Thanks.
Thank you for your review Laura! So glad to hear you enjoyed your stay and all that our El Coyote house has to offer. We hope to have you back again soon!
This is a beautiful place and we would come back and recommend it to others
We really enjoyed the beauty of the location and the wonderful accommodations
Thank you so much for taking the time to write a review! We are happy to hear you enjoyed your stay and we look forward to having you back again soon!
Girls weekend getaway
Loved the property, the location, and the amenities! Views were amazing!
Only comment would be to provide one address for property. I received one address on my HomeAway account for one of the other properties and a different address in my email attachment.
Thank you for your review Lisa! I'm glad you enjoyed your stay. We do list our office address through VRBO/HomeAway but when we send the confirmation email out, we also send the address for the property rented along with directions so that it is clear. I'm sorry that there was some confusion. We hope to have you back again!
Great spot in Joshua Tree
This is our 3rd stay at this wonderful, funky place outside Joshua Tree, and each time we are so appreciative of the location, landscaping, and amenities of Christa's cozy nest here. So many perfect spots to watch the sunrise, watch the light on the rock hills, look at the stars (or just have a fire, a soak in the hot tub, a nap in the hammock...). Thank you, thank you!
We are always happy to have you and your friends back at the El Coyote house Mari! Repeat guests are a good sign to us. We will see you again in a few months!
Fabulous find in Joshua Tree
This is a beautiful property, clean, comfortable and quiet. We saw lots of bunny rabbits, and other wildlife. Absolutely would recommend. We didn’t even get a chance to use the hot tub, but we will next time! Tiny little complaint the second night while we were sitting out enjoying the evening someone very nearby decided to ride around on his dirt bike. Very loud and dusty. He kept it up for a good hour. This is completely beyond the hosts control, that’s why we still rated it a 5!
Thank you for your review Robin! I'm happy to hear your enjoyed the house but sorry to hear about the dirt bike rider....a little surprised as most of the neighbors are very mindful and this has not been an issue in the past. I'm glad it was just for a short time and you were able to enjoy the peace and quiet that the house normally offers! We hope to see you again....
We absolutely loved our stay at El Coyote! This is an immaculate property which still manages to be family friendly. Home cooked meals are a snap with the well-appointed kitchen, bedrooms and bathrooms are spacious and the outdoor entertainment space is delightful. The location is close enough to the park and downtown for convenience yet set back far enough for gorgeous views and peaceful surroundings. The casita was an excellent addition of space for another couple or grandmom. Thank you for a wonderful New Years experience!!!
Thank you for your feedback Edith! I'm so happy to hear that the house was everything you hoped for, it is one of our favorites with the many outdoor seating options. I especially love the acreage that it sits on...miles of wild and remote land right outside the back door. Glad you were able to take it all in and enjoy with your family and we hope to have you again!
