We chose this self-contained accommodation because of our desire to be in the Menton area, and were attracted by the pictures and description of this one-bedroom apartment. We got so much more – the pictures clearly show the rooms (bedroom, galley kitchen and sitting room, as well as the patio). We were hooked by the availability of off-street parking, and the lovely large arched windows bringing light and sea glimpses into the bedroom, kitchen and sitting area.
We were not dissuaded when advised by Ludivine, the host, that there are approximately 80 steps up to the apartment from the parking area to enter our suite. Although we are both 70 years old, we had no problems managing the steps, even with our luggage. After a day of exploring, climbing those steps was quickly rewarded by the sense of calm and the great vistas.
Ludivine is able to provide information on many interesting sites, yet is very astute in finding out her guests’ interests. An added bonus for us was the presence of incredibly appealing Brittany spaniels, Jules and Jim, who were so playful and welcoming, yet capable of giving you space. This location became our retreat after a busy day of sightseeing. If you are looking for atmosphere and tranquility, with a very knowledgeable host, this rental would be ideal. You will certainly know you are in France!
