Villa Perezoso is the gem of Manuel Antonio. Awarded "Best Vacation Rental in Manuel Antonio", recipient of over a hundred five-star guest reviews, and featured in Su Casa and Ocean Home, Villa Perezoso promises a Costa Rican getaway you will talk about for years to come.
Boasting a full staff—including a personal chef, bartending services, housekeeping, a Guest Services/Concierge and a behind the scenes facilities staff—Villa Perezoso combines the luxury amenities of a five-star resort with the privacy and personalization of an intimate vacation rental that’s wholly yours.
A wall of glass at the front of this five-bedroom, six-bathroom villa ensures that every room faces the lush Costa Rican jungle and the boulder-studded sea. Because the villa is situated on a tropical hillside at the edge of Manuel Antonio National Park, guests regularly spot monkeys, toucans, and the sloths from which Villa Perezoso gets its name.
You’ll have plenty of time to enjoy this dynamic setting, because all gourmet meals, cleaning, tour booking, grocery shopping, and even transportation are taken care of by Villa Perezoso’s prized staff.
When you arrive, Villa Perezoso's own Chef Jose will meet with you to plan the menu. Our chef is more than happy to accommodate any dietary restrictions. Or just let Chef Jose work his magic—his signature dishes include surf and turf, Costa Rican specialties including empanadas and tres leche cake.
Randall, your Guest Services Coordinator and Concierge, is a Costa Rica native and will help you experience the best of your surroundings. Many guests don’t leave the property, and we don’t blame them. However, if your group is eager for excursions, you can zip-line or raft down a river through the rainforest, or take it a little easier and walk down to the beach or nearby café. Whatever your choice, you won’t need a car—Randall will take care of all the transportation details for you. He along with our facilities crew will ensure that VP is pristine, functional and safe.
Every room in the 6,000-square-foot Villa Perezoso features handcrafted furnishings and accessories from Bali, such as solid hardwood furniture and vibrant fabrics—details that add to the feeling of luxury and immersion in total beauty. Most rooms also have attached terraces extending out into the jungle, with more than enough lounge chairs for your entire group.
Sumptuous, first-level lodging options include the exceptional Grand Master Suite, with its king canopy bed, yoga/meditation space, iPod docking station, flatscreen TV, air conditioning, and floor-to-ceiling windows that provide magnificent unencumbered views of the ocean and jungle. Get even closer to nature by taking a book and a coffee onto the furnished private terrace. The en suite bathroom offers a private, glass-door shower, so you can duck under the spray and look out over the rainforest and the ocean.
Two more Master Suites also have private decks, air-conditioning, flatscreen TVs, docks for your iPod, ceiling fans, and large en suite bathrooms. One of these has a king bed, the other has two doubles.
On the second level, an open living space is fitted with floor-to-ceiling glass doors to keep the lush Pacific Ocean and Manuel Antonio National Park in view. These doors open up to a wrap-around terrace with a pool, cushioned Balinese teak lounge chairs, and outdoor dining table—all spots where wildlife are known to frolic. The living area provides ample seating, a dining table for 12 plus a bar, a gourmet kitchen where Chef Jose crafts his epicurean delights, a large full bathroom, and an air-conditioned entertainment room with three additional sofas and 42-inch plasma TV.
We call the third level The Penthouse. This space houses two more master suites, plus a full living area with a second gourmet kitchen (a great place to fix a snack or a cup of coffee), and views of the Pacific extending from one side and the jungle from the other.
The fourth level—the Penthouse Loft and Sun Deck—is reached from a grand circular staircase and is encased in glass for 280-degree views. From the rooftop terrace, you can sink into the warm water Jacuzzi tub with your signature cocktail and watch the sunset fade into a twinkling night sky. To experience the bird’s eye views of the sun terrace is to capture the essence of Manuel Antonio. We also recommend this spot for an in-house massage—Randall will help arrange one for you.
In short, the award-winning Villa Perezoso presents captivating views, gourmet meals, your own on-site personal concierge, and up-close-and-personal experiences with wildlife that you’ll never forget.
Search Villa Perezoso on YouTube for a full tour—of course, no camera can capture its beauty, but it’s a start.

Seda Sejud purchased this villa in 2008
To us, Manuel Antonio is as close to paradise as it gets. Our dream was to someday live in a tropical haven, near the beach and somewhere not too far from 'home' (California). Having traveled nearly all the continents and vacationed on many of the worlds' best islands and tropical destinations, upon arriving in Manuel Antonio in November of 2003, we knew we had to live there someday. Not only was the place magical, the views heavenly, the beaches some of the best we've ever encountered but the friendliness of the people of Costa Rica, the emphasis on preserving their beautiful country, we knew when we arrived that we were hooked and that we wanted to make Costa Rica our next home. We found a gorgeous property with some of the best views we have encountered, bought it and started building. With Bali being another favorite destination of ours, we wanted to bring what we loved about Bali to Costa Rica--from the feeling of living outdoors to using natural materials and woods and stones to the top notch service they provide their guests. Our architect did a beautiful job taking our vision and in creating Villa Perezoso (named for the resident sloth), with every room having distinctive ocean and jungle views. We travelled to Bali to have all the furniture and accessories custom built for the property and had it transported to Costa Rica. It was a labor of love building it from the ground up and we love the finished product as do our guests.
Simply stated, our staff. From our charming house manager/concierge who always has a smile on his face and has lived in the area and worked in the hotel industry for over 20 years, to our full time chef, to our favorite drink mixologist, to our facilities manager and our never in the way sweet housekeeping staff, you will be pampered beyond your imagination. You will never have to lift a finger here at Villa Perezoso as we will do all the lifting for you! Whether it's to.... go food shopping, clean up, prepare and serve the most tasty, gourmet meals, to the drink making, to advice on the best activities or local culture, to running an errand or getting that extra bottle of rum, our staff will take care of it all. We also love that nature beckons right outside, I personally love the monkey visits and am always excited on seeing a 'perezoso' in the nearby guarumo tree. If I could pick out two of my favorite things about Villa Perezoso is 1) the staff and how they spoil us and our guests and 2) the openness of each of the rooms (especially the bathrooms with floor to ceiling glass doors that open up allowing you to shower looking out to the vast jungle and pacific ocean. Its a slice of paradise found. And, the wildlife that you will experience at the Villa will make you feel as if you were in your very own National Geographic movie!
Much thanks for a week that was beyond perfect mainly because of the amazing staff. No request was impossible and everything was take care of. Thank you for tending to our numerous needs--our party of 7 from 10-74 kept you all busy but you were always so gracious. All our excursions, transport and any other need were always taken care of. The kids numerous requests for smoothies along with our pina coladas kept Chef Jose busy. Always with a smile and dancing feet! you are an amazing chef and a man with a good heart.Pura Vida. Thanks to Ana and Mari for keeping this gorgeous place immaculate and Ana for the sloth sightings. She can always find them! You are all the best!
we loved our week. The house is magnificent (the photos are 100% accurate) and the excursions were loads of fun, but without a doubt, the best part was being with the incredible staff. They did a magnificent job of taking care of us and making us feel right at home. The staff was available but not intrusive. We had all meals at home and Jose, the chef, is as good a chef as one might find at a Zagat 5 star restaurant. He uses all fresh produce and fish that is caught the same day. A real culinary experience. Randall, the house manager, oversaw our every desire. Anything we thought about, we'd say, "Let's talk with Randall". Anamaria and Maria kept the house immaculate on a daily basis. We are a family of 10 and were extremely comfortable. This was pampering at its most luxurious. We travel a lot and found the beauty of the country, the friendliness of the people, and the range of outdoor activities to be exceptional. Finding this piece of heaven in a dangerous world was fantastic. Seda Sejud, the owner, is extremely responsive and easy to work with. She delivered on all her promises. You just can't do any better.

My family and my mom just returned from 10 days at Villa Perezoso - our first Costa Rican adventure. It was fabulous mostly because the staff that the reviewers have raved about holds so true. I can't imagine traveling any other way, with Randall at the helm to recommend and deal with adventure requests, Jose, preparing amazing breakfast and dinners with each day surpassing the last, and Anna and Mari - providing clean rooms, sheets, towels and fresh flowers daily. The walk to the beach is a bit further than we had expected, but taxi rides are a cinch to coordinate last minute. The daily adventures we enjoyed include: parasailing, white water rafting with Rafiki, zip lining with Safari, Catamaran Sunset trip, kayaking in the mangroves, hiking to waterfalls, daily entertainmemt by monkeys and lots of naps. We loved each minute!

This property and staff are amazing. First of all the views from the upper three floors are fabulous. The construction is sound and prevents noise transfer from one floor to another. The furnishings are comfortable and in keeping with the property itself. The beds and pillows are very good. Enough about the building.
Now the wildlife....We enjoyed the howlers (monkey alarm some days!), the capuchins and spider monkeys. The later two must think guests are there for their own entertainment. The sloths made silent appearances several days - one has to be alert to spot them in the trees. We saw beautiful birds most of which we couldn't identify but we did know the toucans! The patios are great places to sit quietly and wait for wildlife to appear all the while enjoying the view and breeze.
What really makes this property special is the staff! Warm, friendly, efficient, high quality in all aspects. We were there during the hurricane - we felt perfectly secure not only because of the construction of the building but primarily because of the staff. They were paying attention to the weather warnings (as were we); we knew that if strong winds came that they would take us lower in the house for protection. As it turned out we only had about 15 minutes of hard rain.
So what did we do? We enjoyed beautiful views and breezes from the terraces, ate wonderfully prepared and served meals. enjoyed an always spotless house, visited with good hosts and chef, Randall and Jose. Deep sea fishing was a treat. The boat that Randall arranged for us was spotless with a great crew netting three large fish which we partially ate for dinner and shared with Randall and Jose. Some went white water rafting and some to the National Park. Because Costa Rica had closed all boat excursions and we had planned a catamaran trip, Randall arranged to take us to a swimming waterfall and beach trip with lunch at a beach restaurant. Randall was ever vigilant - even though the beach had a life guard, he stood watch at the water's edge making sure all of our party was safe!
All of the trip was exceptional. I think that our high satisfaction can be laid at the feet of the staff. Anna and Mari maintained a spotless house without making us feel we were making a mess. Randall is a consummate host and house manager. Jose is a great chef only to be matched by his smiling friendly personality! Anyone who stays in this house is in for a treat!
We traveled to Costa Rica and Villa Perezoso with friends and family to celebrate my daughter's 30th birthday. To say that the house and staff far exceeded my expectations is an understatement. The entire trip was spectacular. The house is beautiful - even better than the pictures if that is possible. Every little detail is considered. The staff though is what made this trip truly memorable. Randall and Jose are amazingly good at their jobs - taking care of every need and even some needs that we did not know we had! Beyond that, they are just "good people" with smiles on their faces always and always striving to make every guest feel special. The food was better than any restaurant and excursions were arranged quickly and easily. We will be going back in December of 2017 to celebrate our other daughter's 30th birthday. A tradition has begun! Thank you Seda, Randall, Jose, and Ana Maria! See you soon. Pura Vida
There are not enough words to describe how much we enjoyed ourselves at Villa Perezoso! We traveled with 10 guests, ranging in age from 72 years to 7 years old. Each of us had the time of our lives! There was so much to enjoy, be it watching the monkeys from our private pool, to white water rafting or zip lining.
Randy is a fantastic, gracious host and Jose (our dear chef), is IMMENSELY talented! Each meal surpassed any meal we have ever enjoyed. Ana Maria connected with us, she was like family.
Though small in size, Manuel Antonio is considered to be the most beautiful park in Costa Rica, (rated top 12 most beautiful parks in the world by Forbes and 15th best beach in the world!), famous for sparkling beaches that emerge from its wondrous tropical rain forest.
Manuel Antonio is the natural habitat of hundreds of species of wildlife and birds, any number of which may be seen on any of the park’s network of hiking trails. The area offers an array of ecotourism and adventure options , and the Pacific Coast of Costa Rica has some of the best sport fishing anywhere, with charters available from the nearby fishing town of Quepos.
Villa Perezoso features some of the very best views in all of Manuel Antonio.
Other Activities: zip line/canopy tours, dolphin cruises, hiking, national park visits, white water rafting and our very own beach bbq TICO style offered by our chef!
