Wonderful cabin for a weekend get-away!

  • 5 of 5

My husband and I rented the Smokey Dreams for a long weekend to celebrate his birthday and our anniversary. From the moment we walked into this lovely cabin we knew it was going to be a great weekend! The cabin is just as advertised, quiet, relaxing, comfortable with a kitchen equipped to cook a meal or two. We enjoyed the bear décor throughout the cabin. The bed was comfortable. The front porch was great to enjoy a cup of tea in the morning. The cabin was about 20 minutes from Gatlinburg/Pigeon Forge area and entrance to the Great Smokey Mountains. The owners were very helpful and quick to respond to our inquiry as well as to any questions we had before our trip and even when we locked our car keys and keys to the cabin in the cabin one night. We would highly recommend the Smokey Dreams! If we return to the area, we will definitely stay here again!

nice cabin

  • 5 of 5

This is a nice cabin that is, for me, just far enough away from Gatlinburg. It is a charming log cabin with a great hot tub. Sandy is a joy to deal with and is very accommodating. It is very close to good dining and shopping, and is about 30 minutes from Gatlinburg if that is your destination. I give this cabin a thumbs up!!!

Memorial Weekend

  • 2 of 5

We were very happy at first, with the price and availability. When we first arrived, we were pleased with how cute and homey the cabin looked. We were very disappointed to find out that the cabin was not close to Gatlinburg/Pigeon Forge at all. We were told it was 25 minutes away, but driving through the mountains to get there, it took at least 45 minutes to an hour each way! We would've rather paid extra to be IN Gatlinburg like we were told.

On top of having to drive 45+ minutes each way to get anywhere, the beds were extremely uncomfortable, the reclining chair and couch in the living room were broken, the DVD player didn't work, and there was no wifi. Wifi wouldn't have been a big deal, but my mom had homework to finish. The kitchen was not stocked properly, dishes and silverware were dirty, and there were roaches in the cabinets. There was no foil, plastic wrap, or anything else to save cooked leftovers, very disappointing. There was also only two rolls of toilet paper in the entire cabin, we didn't realize until we were already out!! The absolute worst part of our experience at Smoky Dreams cabin, was every night we were constantly killing roaches. I realize we were in the woods, but we weren't opening/leaving doors opened. We have no clue where they were coming from. It was a disappointing experience. Sandy was very nice, always answered any question via email, which was great because I don't like talking on the phone. When we were out of toilet paper, she made sure to swing by(we were out at the time) and drop some off.

If you're planning to do things outside of seeing Gatlinburg, like white water rafting, hiking, etc. I would definitely recommend staying here, it would be much more convenient for those things. There were also zip lining places near by, we wanted to do those things but I'm pregnant and can't. It was nice to have the hot tub, we stuck our feet in, but again being pregnant I'm not supposed to be in for very long! It was also hard to find the drive way, but easy fix if you could cut down some trees and stuff.

Owner's Response: We appreciate any and all comments and suggestions about our cabin. Comments from a previous renter attest to the fact they took 20 minutes to get to Gatlinburg. Our website’s first paragraph states that were are about 25 minutes away from Gatlinburg and not in downtown Gatlinburg. I received an email a few days before her arrival date telling me that I should have told her that we were not in Downtown Gatlinburg. I believe she just didn’t read the information before making the reservation. We make the trip weekly in under thirty minutes. If anything is broken or does not work we try our best to repair or replace it. It would have been nice if you found something not working to give us a call. We would have sent someone to do repairs. The furniture is not broken. We do not offer WiFi just yet because it is not offered in this area. Many who stay at this cabin are very happy with the amenities and no one has ever called and said that the needed a spaghetti colander or a pizza cutter. The last review also said that the cabin was very comfortable. Everything you normally need is there in the cabin. We leave starter paper products (normally an extra roll of toilet tissue in each bathroom and paper towels) for all our guests, but we do not offer hotel services. We offer guest cabins. If we forgot something, then we are happy to provide it. All of our cabins are on a monthly spraying program for insects and the like. This cabins has never had a complaint until now, but we take the observation seriously and we will ensure that it gets an extra visit from the exterminator. If we cut a lot of trees on the property, then you would lose your privacy. This particular cabin gets many visitors each year and for the most part they leave not only as satisfied customers, but also return successive years to visit it again. All you have to do is read the guest books and you will see the same names with a lot of positive comments.

Great cabin outside of Gatlinburg

  • 5 of 5

This was a great cabin - couldn't have been happier. It's location is perfect outside of Gatlinburg about 25-30 minutes. Front porch offers beautiful mountain views. Secluded location, nice and quiet. Hot tub on the front porch has views of the mountains. The cabin has everything you need --- 2 bedrooms, 2 full bathrooms, charcoal grill outside, kitchen in stocked with everything you need for cooking, laundry room. The cabin was clean and decorated nicely. Sandy was very helpful in the booking process and answered any questions I had. We would love to go back and will share this with our friends!!! This was a very relaxing cabin for a weekend getaway.

Spring Break Trip

  • 4 of 5

We had a great time at this cabin for spring break, was nice to be away from the crowds in town but close enough to it all-about 20min from Gatlinburg/Pigeon Forge, the cabin inside area seemed small at first but it worked great for us (2adults/3 kids) loved having a washer/dryer, rooms & closets great size, only downside is no trash can at property, so had to drop off at nearby trash site, which was fine until leaving on check out day and drove there to find out they were still closed so had to travel with a couple trash bags until we could find a dumpster. Also the path to back door (only entrance) was small gravel/dirt, and is a little steep and narrow, so after it rained was a little slick, it was great to have key on site with code to enter, so no stopping at an office. Hot tub was nice to have too, as was fireplace, but it would be nice to have fire pit outside in yard and possibly wifi but was nice to be off devices somewhat too.

Owners were great at booking, answering questions via email, returning phone calls, etc....prior to trip. Would def book again with them.
