This ideal vacation spot is nestled in the woods and borders a state preserve for optimal privacy. The 1 acre property is located at the end of a cul-de-sac with only 2 other homes, none of which are visible. There is no traffic and safe for kid's and pet's to run and play.

Enjoy all the comforts of home and more ..... LARGE GAS FIREPLACE that is easy to operate; TV's for each bedroom and living room; FREE WI-FI; FULLY EQUIPPED KITCHEN; WASHER & DRYER and as an added bonus expect visits from the neighborhood black cat, blue heeler dog, hummingbirds and the other little critters that roam our property.

The best part of our secluded cabin is found in the back - YOU WOULD NEVER IMAGINE THAT YOU ARE LESS THAN 1/4 MILE FROM A BUSTLING LITTLE TOWN.

There are 3 DECKS ON VARIOUS LEVELS. The MAIN DECK is covered (not screened) and has a dining table and chairs. The LOWER DECK is large and has plenty of room to sprawl out and relax and finally the UPPER DECK has a comfortable glider love seat. From all the levels enjoy the privacy of THE WOODS THAT SURROUND YOU OR ENJOY THE BABBLING BROOK that runs right under the back porch.

BEDROOMS: Each bedroom has a queen size bed plus the the larger of the two bedrooms also has a bunk bed (two twin beds). NOTE: There is no pull-out sofa. MAXIMUM OCCUPANCY IS 6.

BEDDING & HYGENE: We DO NOT USE traditional comforters that hardly get washed. WE DO USE 100-Percent Hypo-allergenic Luxury goose down-alternative comforters for each queen bed. These are covered with 100% cotton DUVET COVERS THAT ARE WASHED AFTER EACH TENANT. In addition there are spare duvet covers available.

KITCHEN: There are enough pots, pans, dishes, trays and accessories to host a grand meal. (Our Grandma always does a lot of cooking when she is here :-)

This is a very comfortable, up-to-date cabin. It was completely renovated with new interior, furniture, windows, roof, decking and so much more within the past few years.

HELEN is a perfect vacation spot and centrally located for all your day trips - BUT ONCE YOUR DONE FOR THE DAY WOULDN'T IT BE NICE JUST TO PARK THE CAR AND WALK TO DOWNTOWN, HAVE DINNER, ENJOY A LITTLE NIGHT LIFE, DO SOME SHOPPING AND JUST STROLL BACK HOME.

We have been coming up here for some 15 years and also started with renting cabins miles outside of town, not wanting to stay at a motel/hotel and loving the privacy BUT NOT APPRECIATING THE DRIVE HOME AFTER A FUN NIGHT IN HELEN.

Our cabin offers you the best of both: 'PRIVACY, TRANQUILITY AND CONVENIENCE TO ALL HELEN HAS TO OFFER WITHIN 1800 FEET!'

Guestbook comments from the owner

As you know, we extended our stay in Helen, GA because we enjoyed it so much. Easy communication with you was very helpful.

The cabin is very comfortable and is furnished with all conveniences, well thought out use of space and exceeded our expectations. The proximity to the town of Helen and Unicoi State Park is as described and is an excellent feature. We took many walks with the dogs, hiked on the trails several times and took a self guided pottery tour among other things. By the way, the food at the Unicoi State Park Lodge is great and gave us a chance to meet some locals.

Hope to have the opportunity to stay in your cabin again

Relaxing setting close to the Alpine Village

  • 5 of 5

We had a great stay at the cabin. You felt like you were far away from town, but it is walking distance from the cabin. My wife absolutely loved Helen so we were glad we stayed so close to town.

Great location, lovely place

  • 5 of 5

We had a great time, and the back area with the creek was fantastic for our two small kids (2.5 and 4). The owner had everything well set up, nothing complicated.

Great Getaway

  • 5 of 5

The cabin was exactly as described on VRBO. Secluded, yet close enough to town to walk in and enjoy the restaurants, coffee houses, street life and country store. The place is so heavily wooded, time did not have much meaning. If you're looking for quiet, you've found the right place. We based out of Helen and did several hikes in the local area: Anna Ruby Falls, Desoto Falls, Springer Mountain (AT), Minnehana Falls, Helton Creek Falls, Dukes Creek Falls and Amicalola Falls. This place was right where we wanted to be. Much more room than it seems in the photos, with a rustic feel, but all the conveniences you might need. We tended to leave the TV off and just enjoy the sights and sounds of the forest. July 4th was alot of traffic, both in town and on the river, but fun to be around as well. An overall great experience.

Beautiful clean secluded and close to town

  • 5 of 5

The cabin is perfect! The creek and decks are the best part. My son loved exploring the creek while my husband and baby napped in the hammock. The cabin is very clean and well appointed, with absolutely everything a family would need. The owners have a comprehensive list of activities and favorite restaurants, and we tried them all. We had a wonderful get-away with our family. We thank the owners for sharing their home with us!

Collectively exceeded expectations and more than met our needs.

  • 4 of 5

Location: Tough to beat. Literally in the woods. Take the edge of your town where it abuts the woods. Then plow over a few rows of trees and build a cabin. Literally in the woods. Outstanding.

Grounds: See above. Just add a tiny babbling brook. A design coup to build part of the deck over the creek---a couple mornings it actually kept me from heading out for my normal morning run. The view of the woods combined with the sounds of the creek is enough to make any urbanite swoon.

Residence: It's a 2/1 cabin in the woods. If you're looking for something more you're reading the wrong review. It's a nice 2/1 cabin--clean, logically laid-out, well supplied if not somewhat under-furnished. What I would have given for a lounging outdoors couch (hammock is a terrific idea but unusable within 18-24 hours of every rain). Similarly; to doze off on a comfy couch indoors to mindless HGTV while raining outside would have been icing. Yet the cake was more than sufficient; the icing would have just been an extra. After all; we went to partake in the outdoors and the small (beware) tourist spots in town.

Residence in closing: Beware the sugar-ants. It's a known. Simply deal. Walk to Helen's and buy some traps and spray and you're fine. We live in SoFL so it's simply a part of living; a non-event.

The Town: It's a tourist place. Expect nothing more and you'll be fine. As dog-travelers we went with the intent of finding pup-friendly outings and the area is fairly accommodating. From a handful of overpriced dog-friendly dining spots to some dog-friendly parks (local, state and Federal lands) to a moderately dog-friendly walkable downtown we were more than satisfied.

Collectively this exceeded our expectations and easily met our needs.

tracie and randy's first trip

  • 4 of 5

the only thing we did not like was the front view of a race track building, but the back was great and the fact that it was within walking distance of town was great. the cabin was beautiful...
