This cabin is perfect for the couple looking for a romantic getaway. Perfectly appointed, my husband and I literally could not have asked for anything more. The decor was extremely tasteful, and we had absolutely everything we needed (and more). Rustic exposed beams, skylights, deck, and cozy fireplace made this midweek escape one of the best we've ever had. A large selection of books, DVDs, and brochures for all the local parks, restaurants, vineyards, museums, and villages ensured that we spent our time enjoyably. The bedroom was surprisingly spacious with a big comfortable bed, fine linen and bedspread, and perfectly furnished. The bathroom was very clean and comfortable. We enjoyed cooking our dinner in the well-stocked kitchen with the local produce we picked up during the day, and also appreciated the wireless internet connection with helped us keep tabs on what was happening in the "real world". There was plenty of closet space for us to keep our things and even a washer and dryer. This cabin is truly perfect, and we plan on staying again.
Clean and cozy
Wanted for nothing
Cute. Close to town but felt secluded.
We just wanted a weekend getaway and this was perfect. The cottage was clean and nicely furnished. We went in early April. It was unseasonably cold and a lot of attractions weren't open for the season. We enjoyed the canal trail that started right outside the cottage door. We saw several ducks, a heron, a red tailed hawk, and a bunch of frogs were coming out of hibernation. We would highly recommend this property.
Beautiful cabin to get away from it all!
My husband and I stayed here for a weekend prior to the arrival of our third child. Beautiful location with reasonable distance to shops and restaurants. The cabin is very well kept and comfortable. We had a fire every night and enjoyed the peace and quiet. Highly recommend!
Always a lovely and reviving break
We took a couple of mid-week days at Sky Island Cottage to recover from Christmas. We stay here often, but this was our first winter-time visit. We took a couple of beautiful, snowy hikes (Lake Awosting in Minnewaska State Park, and the Van Leuwen Cabin on the Mohonk Preserve), and came home to a snug little cottage and all the makings for a warm fire in the fireplace. It was, as always, heavenly.
quaint, clean, hospitable and relaxing
this is my fourth visit to Sky Island Cottage and each time I am impressed with the extra efforts Irene takes to make one feel at home. Elegant seclusion creates a relaxing environment that you appreciate the longer you stay.
