We could tell that you put a lot of time and effort making this 100 year old home current and updated and the improvements that been made are great. Again thanks so much !

VRBO Bear in the Mile High City!

VRBO Bear stayed here

Dec 8, 2009

This lovely tri-level, 4 bedroom, 2 bath Victorian home (built in 1899) was the home base for our “Mile High City” vacation. Located in the historic Capitol Hill District, this duplex offers all the modern conveniences in beautifully restored comfort. The entrance to the house is on the main level, which features gorgeous hardwood floors in the living and dining rooms. The kitchen and breakfast area bring together the spirit of the home, with the original natural exposed brick, period tiles and modern, high-end appliances. It’s the perfect combination to cook a fantastic meal and afterwards, sit down and enjoy the ambiance. The cozy back yard has a deck for enjoying the quiet of the neighborhood or space for a barbeque and entertaining friends! There is a private garage, so no need to worry about parking on the street. The three upstairs bedrooms, the bathroom and private office can be found at the top of the lovely oak staircase. The lower level master bedroom with its nostalgic western feel is tastefully decorated. There is also a private bathroom, which is updated and very modern. Just down the street from this Pearl Street home, you’ll encounter the rich history of downtown Denver. Close by are several museums such as The Denver Art Museum, The Children’s Museum of Denver, The Molly Brown Museum, Wings over the Rockies, and the Museum of Nature and Science. Kids will love discovering how money is made on a free tour of the U.S. Mint. Close to the 16th Street Pedestrian Mall, you can ride the free trolley and enjoy the shops, restaurants and street side entertainment – day or night! Denver has over 200 parks and 850 miles of off-street bike paths and trails to enjoy the great outdoors. If you’re looking for a centrally located place to stay in Denver, this home is in the heart of it all! The VRBO Bear

ACE Conference/Family Vacation

  • 5 of 5

We spent 7 days at this beautiful home in early June. We were in town for the annual ACE conference and decided to bring our 4 children with (ages 9 - 16). We rented out the entire house and it was plenty big for us to spread out and for everyone to have their own space. The kitchen was well appointed with a professional grade gas stove/oven/grill, microwave, coffee maker, etc.

The backyard was perfect for entertaining and we did host a dinner for 10 additional guests one evening. The flow from the kitchen to the backyard area is great for hosting a group. We did have one question about operating the oven and the owner was just a quick phone call away and walked us through our question and also called back to make sure everything was working.

The house was in easy walking distance to several restaurants and, although a little longer walk, we did venture to the 16th Street Mall for shopping and eating out. There is a Safeway on 20th for grocery shopping. You can walk there, although it is a little further and I would recommend driving if you plan to get more than a couple of bags.

We took in a Rockies game. Again, if you walk to the 16th Street Mall, there is a shuttle that will take you all the way to Blake Street and within 5 blocks of Coors Field.

The garage on the back of the property is small. It fit a minivan, although it was tight. If you drive anything larger, be prepared to find parking on the street, which can be a bit of a challenge on the weekends and evenings.

Both bathrooms in the home are either upstairs or downstairs, nothing on the main level so keep that in mind if you have difficulty with steps.

Overall we had a great trip and would definitely rent this property again when we return to Denver! Thank you for everything!

Owner's Response: Hi Niki & family - Was great having you all stay in our house ! Wished we had discussed shopping -- there is a Whole Foods Store 4 blocks away (900 E 11th Avenue) as well as a King's Sooper on 9th Avenue.....2 blocks further.....an easy walk from the house. So you'll be able to shop closer "to home" on your next visit. Thanks again !

Perfect weekend in Denver for a large group

  • 5 of 5

Andrew's house is gorgeous! It's perfect for a big family or a group of friends. There's a back patio too. We found that there were plenty of restaurants, grocery stores and bars within walking distance that we didn't need to have a car. Checking in and out were simple. The only potential downside to this house is that there are only two bathrooms for a house that sleeps 8 people. But there is a spectacular claw foot tub in one of the two bathrooms.

Beautiful home! Worked perfect for 6 adults

  • 5 of 5

We enjoyed the back patio with ample seating and both gas and charcoal grills. The dining room table was great for playing a few games. The beds were very comfortable. The basement shower is gorgeous! Just a blocks walk to a wonderful breakfast place called Jellys. We would highly recommend this home! One of our favorite vrbo's to date!

Thanks Andrew for this great experience!

Warm regards

Great location!

  • 5 of 5

I reserved this house for a New Year's Eve couples trip. We loved this house! We particularly liked that there was a private bedroom for each couple. It was also a very convenient location, with restaurants in walking distance and just a short Uber to most anywhere else we wanted to go. Andrew was also very accommodating, allowing us to have early arrival and late checkout because availability permitted. Would absolutely recommend!
