Bedrooms 3
Space 1,200 sq. ft.
Property type house
Minimum Stay 2 nights

About the property

House, 3 Bedrooms + Convertible bed(s), 2 Baths, (Sleeps 6)

“The Nest” Guesthouse is quite like an Eagles Nest perched on the edge of the high bluff overlooking the ocean down below. Sitting on a nearly 2 acre lot at the end a quiet road, it's unobstructed view watches the puff of a whales blow hole, rafts of sea otters and fishing boats catching Kings Salmon and Halibut down below in Kachemak Bay and the Lower Cook Inlet. It's view extends from the shores near Seldovia to Mt. Redoubt including the expanse of Mountains and Volcanoes that make up the Alaskan Ring of Fire.

It occasionally catches a glimpse of a lynx, black bear, coyote or a moose and on a daily basis enjoys the company of playful ravens, soaring eagles, hawks, and strutting cranes and pheasants.

the Nest is a 1200 square foot 3-bedroom/2 bath house that can easily accommodate 6 people but cozy enough for 2. It's open floor plan is a comfortable place for friends and family to gather and enjoy each others company.

'The Nest' is complete in every way with a washer & dryer and a full kitchen loaded with all the appliances, pots, pans, utensils and staple foods. Each bedroom has an incredible view and can sleep either 2 singles or 1 couple.

It is adorned with warm custom furnishings, butcher-block counter tops, and beautifully painted and decorated rooms. With a wrap-around deck you can use the Weber grill to cook up some freshly caught fish or just sit and enjoy the peaceful surroundings.

It's private location, amazing view, and comfortable interior make the 'Nest' Guesthouse a ideal home for your vacation. Call Chris and I'll be happy to help you make your vacation an amazing experience.

About Christie Curry

I'm a traveler. I love to travel and have been all over the world. I also really love living in Alaska and what Alaska has to offer me as a resident and others that travel to it. It's an amazing place. I really wanted to create a place that is a "home away form home" for other travelers so they get the feeling of living here. I also help provide that incredible experience that should come to someone that travels to the last frontier of Alaska.

Christie Curry purchased this house in 1998

Why Christie Curry chose Kenai Peninsula

This is an incredible place. It is sitting on a bluff overlooking the waters of Kachemak Bay and Cook Inlet as well as both the Aleutian and Kenai Mountain Ranges. It is custom with a homey feel and a great place to escape and experience Alaska with friends and family.

Guestbook comments from the owner

Chris & Daniel,

The Nest was Fantastic! It ws the perfect place for our Alaskan fishing adventure. The views alone are worth the trip, but the house is really special too. We've never stayed in such a well stocked home, it really is a nice touch. Daniel worked us prestty hard on the boat but the results were definitely worth it. We've got lots of fish to take home for the winter. We will definitely be back! Best wishes,

The setting is so beautiful that we have had weddings in the yard at the Nest.

Exactly what we hoped for

  • 5 of 5

The Nest was perfect. The views surpassed our expectations. We had a hard time choosing which room had the best view. The kitchen had everything we needed and then some. The deck was great. Really can't think of a single complaint. If we are fortunate enough to get back to Homer, we will look here first.

Awe inspiring views

  • 5 of 5

The Nest was great! We stayed here for two nights and the views were unbelievable from every room. The house was very well stocked and I must say the it really made you feel like you were in your own kitchen. We met the local greeting committee (the four dogs) who were extremely friendly and we enjoyed there company especially since we left our dog at home. The only problem that we had was that the Jacuzzi tub was extremely loud and basically was to the point that it was unbearable. The floor plans show a hot tub but it is no longer there so if that is a must you better verify if a new one has been installed. The nest is conveniently located to Homer and very private. I would highly suggest that if you plan on staying in this area this you stay here.

Breathtaking View

  • 5 of 5

My mom, sister, daughter and myself fell in love with "The Nest" as soon as we walked in the door. It is everything and more than described. It had everything we needed, was very clean, homey feeling and the beds were wonderful. The view from every window was absolutely beautiful. Chris is a wonderful hostess and she and Daniel have done a super job of making this such an enjoyable place to stay. I definitely want to return when I can stay longer. Homer is home to some of the best fishing in the world. The 'Nest' is a short distance from the Homer Harbor on the Spit or the Kenai, Kasilof and Anchor Rivers. We own Daniel's Personalized Guide Service and Daniel, with 25 years of experience, can take you Halibut, Salmon or Ling Cod fishing.
