Adorable Efficiency Cottage, next door to our Purple & Peach cottages
This is the world's most adorable & tiny beach cottage. Ideal for the solo traveler or romantic couple seeking down time away from the madding crowd & looking to relax on a quiet beach or go sight-seeing. This is an efficiency cottage, so has LR/BR--the orange sofa (pictured) folds down & is the bed, so sleeps one or a very cozy 2. The turquoise bath is spacious & has a stall shower. The kitchen has sink, micro, mini-fridge, NO stove. Cooking is outside on the gas grill with side burner. 2 restaurants nearby (4 miles), one fine dining, one very casual, will accommodate your appetite. There is air conditioning + ceiling fans. The sandy beach is only a few steps distant on the Chesapeake Bay & an outside shower aside the pink cottage will refresh you after your beach time. Incredible sunsets over the Chesapeake Bay!
Pink Cottage Amenities: The Pink Cottage (efficiency) has air conditioning + ceiling fans in addition to the usual Chesapeake Bay breezes. There is an outside shower for your use when returning from the beach, boating, or jet-skiing. The kitchen has sink, mini-fridge, & microwave. No stove. A gas grill with side burner is provided for outdoor cooking. Kitchen items are included as are linens. TV, VCR, DVD.
Activities and Attractions: Boating of all types abounds. Trailer your own boat or jet-ski, wave runner, or load your kayaks on top of your car, and they will see a lot of use at Smith Beach. The community boat ramp (steps from the cottage) is at the mouth of the Chesapeake Bay and a creek area know as 'The Gulf.' So there is quiet water for novice and/or young kayakers/canoers. The fishing is unsurpassed!! Kiptopeke State Park is nearby for hiking, nature walks, birdwatching, etc. Shop and enjoy the casual to elegant dining options in nearby Cape Charles (10 miles south) or Onancock (30 miles north). Visit Chincoteague Island's (50 miles north) famous ponies and go on the nature walk and enjoy Chincoteague's abundance of tourist/souvenir shops and restaurants. As the eastern shore peninsula area is only 10 miles across & is between the Chesapeake and the ocean, the area is easily explored by car & scenic water/nature vistas are everywhere apparent.

Wonderful beach, I will be back next year!
Nice sandy beach, very peaceful and the water was perfect.
I loved this cottage and my long weekend here. Just far enough off the beaten path to offer a quiet, nearly private beach setting. The owner is very kind and accommodating. I ended up staying here with my 3 year old twins, and although this cottage is a bit small for that, we really enjoyed the yard and the beach is just perfect for kids that age - no waves, very shallow for a long ways out. Very relaxing! Can't wait to stay again.
The little pink cottage was perfect for two! The property did have two other cabins that were close but the cottage was in the back and it was easy for everyone to stay out of each other's way. The beach was beautiful and big enough for everyone to relax on. The water was very shallow though and there were no waves, it was like floating in a salty lake! The wildlife around was also amazing, there were multiple types of shore birds. The cabin was very clean inside and I felt the description of it's inside amenities were very accurate. There were some good restaurants around but other activities in the area were slim.
We had a wonderful time just laying around on the beach for four days and I would definitely recommend this property to anyone else with similar interests.
The cottage was a cute, well-maintained, and clean. The layout and features were as described. The only thing not stated in the description is that there are two other cottages on the property, making this cottage not as secluded as it seems. Still, itwas a great place to spend a week and I would deffinetly recomend it to a friend.
Privacy at it's best
From the moment we pulled onto Smith Beach road we knew this was going to be a good vacation. The cottage is just as it looks, so cute and pink! We didn't need a thing. Just our clothes and some food. The beach is also amazing. We didn't see a soul there, it was our "private" beach. If you have kayaks it makes the experience even better. About a half mile from the beach is an amazing sandbar. During low tide its like being on your own tropical island, white sand and blue sky. We hadn't even finished the week and were already thinking about next year.
Smith Beach is a small & private beach village on the Chesapeake Bay with a private boat ramp & sandy beach. Smith Beach is on Virginia's pristine Eastern Shore, a penisula approximately 10 miles wide between the Chesapeake Bay & the Atlantic, & 70 miles long. Smith Beach is 17 miles north of the Chesapeake Bay Bridge Tunnel, which connects the mainland, VA BCH area with the Eastern Shore. Smith Beach is 10 miles north of historic Cape Charles, VA. Forty minutes north of Smith Beach is the historic, quaint town of Onancock, VA, with it's many fine dining & casual restaurants, art galleries, & historic Town Wharf. Chincoteague Island, home of the famous Chincoteague Ponies, is just over an hour north of Smith Beach & makes a delightful day trip, as does Kiptopeke State Park to the south or the Barrier Islands Museum or the Railroad Museum in Parksley. Come relax, ENJOY!!
Other Activities: Bird watching
Golf: If golf is your passion, you will love the new Nicklaus and Palmer courses at Bay Creek, Cape Charles, only 10 miles away.
