Spacious Home on Quiet Seconsett Island, Cape Cod

Bedrooms 3
Property type house
Minimum Stay 3 nights

About the property

3 bedrooms, 2 full baths, laundry room , sunroom, sleeps 8

Enjoy your vacation on this quiet private way, where you can launch kayaks and go exploring or use your own small boat . Washburn Island, conservation land, is directly across from the Island and is well worth checking out, as are all the inlets and rivers in the bay. There is Little River Boat Yard on the island, for those that need boat services. Our small bay beach is excellent for relaxing , boat and bird watching, and our ospreys put on quite a show. Try the quohogging and clamming, we supply the rakes and baskets. Go dig up your dinner and make some delicious chowder or stuffed quohogs.

South Cape beach is a short drive away and can be accessed using back roads and little traffic. Spend the day there swimming, relaxing and walking the long beach. This is a wonderfully roomy house with lots of space. The long back deck seems to be the place everyone congregates for relaxing, grilling, eating and fun. The large enclosed outdoor shower is great after a day of play.

There are many excellent golf courses within minutes of the island. We have par 3's, executive and regulation courses. There is even miniature golf at the Popponesset Market Place, with it's small shops and restaurants.

Mashpee Commons is a 5 minute drive from the island. It contains many well known stores such as Talbots, Black Dog, Vineyard Vines, and Pottery Barn, to name a few and many unique gift and clothing stores. There are also many excellent restaurants, a movie theater and grocery stores. Downtown Falmouth has many small shops including the well known Christmas Tree Shop, not to be missed ! A day trip to Martha's Vineyard is easy to access by the ferries that run from Falmouth and Woods Hole.

Seconsett Island is easily accessible to either Falmouth or Mashpee, but private enough to still remain undiscovered by many.

Guestbook comments from the owner

Jeanne's home was perfect and the listing description exceeded our expectations. We were able to have our dogs with us and the deck and fenced yard was where they spent most of their time. The beach was a short walk where we enjoyed taking our young nieces to play in the sand. The house provided a gathering place for us to have a mini reunion of a few relatives who had gathered to attend a memorial service. We loved Cookes restaurant and the proximity of Roche Brothers market. Hyannis was a short drive where we enjoyed the best lobster roll at the marina there. On our next visit to the cape, we hope to stay here again. We felt as if we were home. Many thanks Jeanne for making us feel so welcome.

From top to bottom this was the best place for 3 kids and 3 dogs and 4 adults. The backyard was perfect and fenced in for our pups. The kids loved the bay beach and the adults loved the quiet relaxing atmosphere. We can't wait to come back next year! And the central air was key once we were all sunburned from the beautiful weather we had.

Owner's Response: I'm so happy you had a great vacation and appreciated our Island and the house. It really was a perfect set up for your needs. I got a big kick out of seeing your families running down to sunset. I have done that so many times. It never gets old. I'm looking forward to having you again.

Great Family Vacation Spot

  • 5 of 5

The owner Jeanne has done a great job of setting up this vacation home with all the amenities you would need to make your stay feel like home. The open floor plan inside is great for families and the fenced in back yard is perfect for pet owners. The home was clean as well!

We were pleasantly surprised at how many activities there were to do in Mashpee, and that Falmouth was a short drive too. The Ferry to the islands was also close by. Would recommend this property to families.

Owner's Response: I loved having the Smiths. i felt bad the weather didn't cooperate but they made the most of it. The highlight I'm sure was seeing their daughter graduate from MA Maritime. I was the recipient of their cooking. Yummy! I'm looking forward to having them return for another visit.

Owner's Response: I so loved having the ladies spend their girls weekend at my rental. What a great idea. They made good use of all the facilities. It was fun to see them out in the kayaks. It's a great way to explore the bay when the weather's mild. I'd love to have them visit again.

Couldn't Have Been Better

  • 5 of 5

We found the house easily and Jeanne was there to welcome us and show us around. She is a wonderful Host. The house is roomy, kitchen well equipped, bedrooms large and the gardens lovely. The home is located on a quiet street with many places to walk.

Owner's Response: Hi Pat and group, I'm glad your stay turned out so beautiful for you. I hope you had a wonderful rest of your vacation as you explored Plymouth Plantation, Boston, and Hull. Thank you so much for leaving the house in such wonderful condition. I really appreciated it. Alas the washer gave up. After thirty years of grinding out so many sheets and towels it quit. It just didn't want to play any more. I put my two year old washer over there and got myself one that I think I'll like better. So it al turned out. Have a safe trip back to Colorado. I love to have you anytime.

Great Cape Location and Home

  • 5 of 5

We just spent a month here and enjoyed every day. The home was very well equipped, comfortable and large enough to easily accommodate our two children, their spouses and three grandchildren. after they left the two os us felt quite comfortable. The location is excellent. Never having been to this part of the Cape, we were very pleasantly surprised. The island is great. our dog Chester also gave it 5 stars. He enjoyed the back yard. swimming in the bay beach, and meeting just about everyone on the island. Jeanne was also very helpful and accommodating.

Owner's Response: I so enjoyed having our guests visit this quiet island which is close to all the amenities that one needs. I loved that the family made use of our bay's beautiful sunsets, little beach, and tried their hand at kayaking, paddle boarding, and even quohogging. Their dog was very appreciative too, as he got to swim in the bay and had the run of the closed in backyard.
