About Jo Weaver
I am English but live in Prague with my Czech lawyer partner. I moved to the Czech Republic in 1990, and in 1991 I started my own PR agency, which is still going strong. As I have spent most of my life taking part in, and watching sport, I set up a second company just a few years ago which specialises in promoting young sports stars, and this is what I now spend quite a lot of time doing. Unfortunately I prefer the sun and sea to snow and mountains, which is why we first looked to buy something in Spain; we bought our house in Marbella 10 years ago and since then have tried to spend as much time as possible there, but it is not always easy! How we came across the flat is a bit of story, but basically we had had a meeting with the bank and just in conversation, our bank manager told us about a property that had just come on the market and which he felt was a great investment. We ended up going to see it just out of interest and ended up buying it! At that time it was empty and was in need of some TLC as it had been used as an office, but we could see that it would make a fantastic apartment. A good friend here gave me the idea to try holiday lettings rather than a long-term let as the apartment is in such a great location and has enough space to accommodate an army!! So started the project of refurbishment, adding in bathrooms, a kitchen and, of course, I had to have a gym, and so on! The best bit was fitting it out with the furnishings, pictures and everything else, but I have had to persuade myself not to get too emotionally involved with everything as, of course, there have been times when we have had things damaged or even stolen... However, Marbella has so much property to rent that we felt that to give us the 'competitive advantage, we needed to make our flat as comfortable and enjoyable as possible, and I think we have achieved that; I call it a 5 star experience at self-catering prices.... I hope that our visitors agree!

Why Jo Weaver chose Marbella
As I have said, we didn't really set out intending to buy another property in Marbella, but kind of fell into it. Our original intention was to do it up and then let it out, but, as mentioned, we got persuaded to try it as a holiday let just two years ago, and haven't really looked back. I must say that, in the beginning, I was worried that it would take up too much of my time, but the combination of having a great person on the ground to help us manage it, and my own near addiction to making the whole process as good as it can be, has turned it into a really enjoyable hobby.
What makes this Apartment unique
We love the flat as it is in such a fantastic location; we even stay there ourselves sometimes even though we have a house down the road! In the winter, in particular, it is fantastic to be right in the middle of all the restaurants and shops, but still only a couple of minutes' walk to the beach, and even though Marbella is nearly always sunny, it can be chilly in the winter evenings and having heating is a real plus! The size of the flat means that, even with a whole family staying, you never feel claustrophobic, but we have tried to make it cozy so that even if there are just a couple of you staying, you don't rattle around! I like to think that having a small gym is a bit of a benefit, plus we have installed English TV which means that you don't HAVE to go out every evening, even on holiday! Other benefits are that the building itself is very safe and well maintained, the Goyo restaurant downstairs is great for breakfast or an evening drink, and the numerous small shops on the doorstep mean that you don't have to go far to stock up!

Had a lovely stay in the Apartment, had one or two teething problems but the owner Jo sorted them out over the phone without a problem. Being very close to the centre of Marbella be ready for the noise during the night, this can not really be helped due to the location of the apartment. The apartment has lots of space and everything you need to make yourselves a home.
Just to clarify, in case anyone is reading this review and has been put off by the 'teething problems' point; they were, in fact, the fact that the satellite TV stopped working at 9.00 am on a Sunday morning, which required a good amount of conversation on the phone to try to find a solution - the cause was, in fact a huge storm over Marbella (and I can't really claim credit for sorting that, since as soon as the storm moved off, the TV started working again....) and the fact that my manager waited outside our apartment at 1.00 in the morning (five hours later than our normal check in time!) to meet you and you were, in fact, waiting half way down the street, despite the fact that you knew the number of the apartment, so were much later getting in than you had hoped......… sorry to sound defensive, but when we owners try very hard to make sure that everything is as near to perfect as we can, it is very depressing to see this kind of review. If only you could have said how nice it was of me to waive the late check-in fee as, when I agreed it one of the bathrooms wasn't working, but by the time you arrived we had had it fixed, or what incredible value the apartment was - less than GBP 70 per night for four people....!!!
Might need a little TLC...
Nice spacious flat in a great position close to beaches, restaurants and the 'old-town'. Several things went a bit astray but Jo was able to get these sorted satisfactorily. Perhaps this flat could do with a little TLC to make sure that everything works correctly. Its position means that it is noisy at night....
Excellent, spacious and great communication with home owner
Jo was extremely helpful and fast at communicating with any questions we had and very helpful in regards to telling us about the apartment. The apartment was more than we expected. It was clean with 2 towels each for 6 of us on each bed. Everything about it was great. We had a great time and would highly recommend this apartment.
Easy access to beach and shops!
The location was excellent but it was very noisy on the street that made it difficult to sleep.
Thank you very much for your review. As you know, the apartment's location in the very centre of Marbella and just a minute from the beach, means that it can be noisier than places outside town, particularly at peak holiday time. But hopefully you enjoyed your stay, nonetheless.
Spacious and Central
The apartment is located centrally just five minutes walk from the beach and from Supersol supermarket. It is spacious and clean and the neighbours friendly. We really enjoyed eating out at the gastro food market across the road Abastos y Viandas. Great experience. Jo is an excellent host. Very quick to respond to any enquiries and even made sure there was someone to meet us for our 1am arrival. Wonderful. The internet in the apartment is also reliable and fast.

The apartment is very central & easy access to all of Marbella. It could be a little noisy from the cafe down the road but that's to be expected as your in the hub of a fantastic holiday town.

The apartment is in the perfect location for those that want to be near the beach and, at the same time, in the centre of all the main attractions - the Old Town of Marbella and all the best restaurants and shops are just a couple of minutes' walk away. If you want to bring a car, then parking is available on the street (metred) or just around the corner in an underground car-park, but a car is not necessary as everything you can possibly need is within just a few minutes' walk away.
The apartment itself is perfect for a family or a group of friends - spacious enough for up to 8 people to stay comfortably, but also cozy and perfect for a winter break. It even offers those fitness fanatics a small private gym. In summer, the combination of the black-out blinds and the air-conditioning keep the place cool, whilst in winter it offers heating, blankets and duvets.
Marbella itself is loved by everyone. Beautiful beaches, fantastic walks, great restaurants, bars and nightlife, shops to die for and a climate that is second to none. What is not to love?
And then there is the sport. The best golf courses in Europe, tennis clubs just around the corner, an amazing running track that leads from Marbella to Puerto Banus, cycling, fishing.. something for everyone.
