3000 square ft. home, built in 2007, By a designer/artist couple as a retreat. Modern furniture, Hammocks on the porches (2 screened porches and 1 sun deck) original art and photographs. On the first floor of the house there are two bedrooms, one with a queen size bed and the other with a queen and a double. Further down the hall is the den, with a TV and foosball table, plus a large screened porch with a hammock.
The second floor is an open two story space that has a kitchen with large double doors opening onto a screened porch perfect for dining or relaxing in the hammock. There's also a loft /office above connected by a catwalk to the master bedroom on the third floor. Please be aware that the master bedroom's shower is outside on the deck. (see photos) Most people love it, but a few people aren't wild about the arrangement. Bamboo and cork floors throughout.
The house (216 East Hudson Ave), is just 4 short blocks to the beach and 2 blocks away from Center Street where you'll find funky bars, and seafood restaurants. There's also a fishing pier, surf shops and an ice cream parlor.
Two blocks away, there is a playground with tennis and basketball courts, plus a pirate play area for the little ones. Also, there is a community dock one block from the house, where you can crab, fish or watch the sunset.
Well behaved house-broken, flea treated dogs are welcomed, but there is no fenced yard, so they would need to be walked on a leash. Keep in mind that dogs are not allowed on the beach between the hours of 10:00am-6:00pm from May 1st to September 30th.
This house is not available for parties unless specifically approved by the owner. It is not suitable for people under 25 without parental supervision such as college groups on spring break or prom gatherings. In the summer we only take reservations Saturday-Saturday.

About Molly Boren
My husband David and I built the house in 2007 as a retreat. We've been renting it for awhile now and have had really great luck with people treating the house as though it were their own. We live nearby in downtown Charleston with our two children, one dog, one cat and 4 chickens. (Only the dog comes with us to the house.)
Molly Boren purchased this House in 2007
Why Molly Boren chose Folly Beach
We love the laid back vibe of Folly and the fact that it's close to town.
What makes this House unique
Typical day: We usually start the day by walking to Bert's to pick up the paper. This is the highlight of his day because at Bert's they keep a box of dog treats behind the counter to encourage furry customers. Don't even think of tying your dog up outside, bring him in to get spoiled. Then we enjoy a stiff cup of coffee on the screen porch off of the kitchen. Eventually we'll go for a bike ride or load up the wagon and head for the beach. Hopefully at some point I'll wind up in the hammock with a book and then a little nap. For dinner, I might take a drive over to Crosby's to pick up some fish to cook on the grill or if feeling lazy, we'll wander over to Center St. to one of the many restaurants. Summertime and the livin's easy...

Great place, great location
We really enjoyed the house and space. It was roomy and the screened porches have great views. The location is convenient to the beach and town. We would highly recommend this house.
Beautiful, unique and special home!
This house has it all--stunning design, all the amenities and great location! Even though it is quite artistic, it has a very relaxed atmosphere and was the perfect place for us to spend Christmas with our family. Molly even provided a Christmas tree with the house, with decorations and lights! We used the well supplied kitchen for cooking and baking and it had everything we needed. The grocery store is only a 5 minute walk, and we were amazed by all that is in there. Great restaurants are also only a few minutes walk away, and so is the beach (5 miles long for walking each day). The house is in a very quiet residential neighborhood. It was super clean. We loved sitting out on the decks to relax. We highly recommend this beautiful home and will be back as soon as we can schedule our next vacation!
Great location and good entertaining space
Perfect for adult families to spread out and enjoy family time and down time.
Only draw back was one small tv and we were there college football rivalry weekend, but the good news was we were perfectly located to sit in the bar with the locals. Fun Thanksgiving weekend. Best equipped vacation rental kitchen I've ever rented.
Big, modern house
We had a wonderful stay. The property is close to restaurants and the beach. Book it!

We loved this house and so did the pups. Close to the beach, bars and restaurants. House is very unique , art work is really nice. Porches are great for relaxing and loved the outdoor shower off the master bedroom. Close to everything but so quiet at night. Highly recommend this property and hope to return!
