However, the best time of the year for moderate temperatures and low humidity are the Fall and Spring seasons which are ideal for sports, especially golf and tennis, walking on the beach, and enjoying nature. Our rates are adjusted for off peak times. If Summer heat is not to your liking, then visit the old South when the low country is at its best...Spring and Fall! Nice Value, but Upgrades Needed
Price and value were very good. Plus the location is great. On the back side of the Night Heron Cottages. A quiet location with the back to the woods.
The kitchen has been updated and that is nice. But upgrades are needed through the rest of the cottage. Toilets run all the time and a simple change of the flapper valves would be good. All fixtures in living and bedrooms seem original -- we we are talking 1979. The lighting is dark and needs improvement. Wooden molding is coming off due to age -- 40 years is a long time. Also, on some wood, the urethane is long gone due to age. Need to sand and reapply the minwax. Or replace. Furniture was not bad, and appliances were good. Just a bit dark and old, needing some refreshing.
Had a wonderful stay.
The house was perfect. It was cooled for us after a hot trip and everything was clean and in order. We had everything needed to set the tone for a great little get-away! Thank you.
We had an amazing time here. We were impressed with the cottage. We were a bit scared to see that the price was low compared to all the other but it was clean and updated. The walk to the beach wasn't bad at all. Great location we love it. We did experience some big roachs inside the cottage. But not enough to kill the mood. Big enough for the whole family! Beautiful island. We will be back.
Great location but dirty
I have stayed at many vrbo rentals. The owner was helpful, directions easy, it was quiet and it was centrally located. The master bed was very comfortable and the kitchen and amenities were all new. The linens were clean and it was well stocked. The wifi worked well.
However, i must say it was the dirtiest vrbo I have ever stayed in. The floors were sticky, the counters were dirty, the wine glasses were used and put back on the shelves. It is an older rental, it is very dark- and that is ok, but sand in the corners of the night tables and filthy door handles are just gross. I had to clean for about an hour or more upon arrival. I would suggest a new cleaning company. I would not rent this unit again, but enjoyed the island.
Pleasant place for a weekend -
Well cared for - wifi tricky - may need to reboot - same for direct TV box - it is in the closet in the bedroom to the right of the big TV in the living room
One problem (no one's fault) - on Kiawah there is little need for TV aside from during a rain storm - unfortunately Direct TV often goes down during miserable weather
4 of us had a good time even with the daunting weather - bought some very nice fish at Harris Teeter - good wine - and enjoyed ourselves while eating healthy and modestly
Nightly children's activities during summer months in Night Heron Park. Science Center and Kamp Kiawah just across the street from the house.
