About Rich Proto

My wife Ann and I live in Massachusetts with our two daughters. We love to travel and vacation, though its not always possible with four busy schedules. Our vacation homes in New Hampshire and Maine allow us to get away on a moments notice. We hope our guests will enjoy them as much as we do!

Rich Proto purchased this house in 2007

Why Rich Proto chose New Hampshire

On our way to see this property for the first time in August 2007, we drove up West Shore Drive past Newfound Lake and were just amazed at the beauty of the lake and surrounding area. We arrived to to see the quintessential New Hampshire cabin with its natural wood siding, beamed ceilings, knotty pine walls, country kitchen, handmade tapestries and quilts, and an artist's touch throughout.

Guestbook comments from the owner

Hi Rich,

I'd just like to thank you again for the beautiful house rental. We all had so much fun, and even got to know the neighbors next door. Everything in the house was beautiful and the views were spectacular. The river across the street was definitely a bonus. After all the rain on saturday the water was flowing very fast and made some nice rapids throughout.

The house was beautiful and it would definitely be a nice place to go back to.

Thanks again!

Great place, close to everything we needed. We saw deer and a black bear! It was an awesome vacation

The house and location was awesome. Everything in the house was easy to find. Directions to the house are great. Neighbors were very nice. The ride to Wellington state park on newfound lake was less than ten minutes. Couldn't ask for a better vacation. We will return in the future.

This house was perfect for our family Christmas celebration

  • 4 of 5

Clean, well appointed, comfortable and relaxing set the tone. We came from two neighboring states and met at the house. We cooked, ate, and enjoyed each others company. It gave us a space to just hang out with each other. We checked out the Cardigan Mountain Appalachian Mountain Club lodge and hiked on their trails. The snow removal people we friendly and efficient. We also found the owner very email responsive to questions we had as we were there.

Great cabin, remote location with civilization nearby, good for 9 people

This was a great place to stay, awesome fire pit, great movie selection, beautiful area in NH. Close to town but far away with scenic views. We had 9 guys staying for a weekend away and all the beds were comfortable and it was big enough for everyone to have a good time!
