About Brigitte Bureau

We are 3 friends that accepted the bet of building a mountain chalet. We are architects, physiotherapists, psychotherapists, and entrepreneurs. We like mountain activities, both in summer and winter, and at all levels. We wish to share our love for nature, sports, cultural holidays or relaxation and shopping.

Why Brigitte Bureau chose Chamonix

This chalet has been a challenge. We did the best with our resources. Before lodging in our own chalet, we stayed in other rentals that were not comfortable, with small beds and old showers. That is why we decided to build a luxury chalet and paid particular attention to the bedding, and comfortable bathrooms, as well as the kitchen equipment because we like to host and welcome our friends in a comfortable place.

What makes this chalet unique

The walk-in shower is functional and spacious. The chalet is luxury equipped, with enough space for for everybody, terraces, tables and comfortable chairs for all guests. It features an incredible view of the Bossons glacier and has a sunny terrace. The bus stop is near the chalet and it is a fast means of transportation because the chalet is just 800 m from the speedway, but at the same time, far from the noisy disturbances of traffic.

A really lovely place with excellent views and charm!

If you're looking for a lovely chalet for a family getaway to Chamonix, this is an amazing option! It's nicely situated in a quiet area outside the town centre with close access to the freeway to Geneva, Courmayeur, and all the local ski villages.

Mimi, the house manager, was attentive to everything we needed during our stay as well! Keep in mind that this is a self-served chalet, so you'll need to bring your own toiletries, soap, etc.

Wonderful family getaway

We were three families with kids staying over New Years and had a wonderful stay in Le Trappeur. This is a beautifully designed and well equipped luxury chalet. There was plenty of room for everybody with great living areas. Fantastic views of the glacier and alps. The owners and property manager were a delight to deal with. Thank you for a wonderful stay! Highly recommended.

Superb stay

We stayed here with 5 adults and 4 kids in Le Trappeur. The Chalet was wonderful. Everything was clean, modern and had everything we needed. The rooms were clean (brand new), and had 2 very large shower rooms and 1 small ensuite and 3 bathrooms. we did not use the sauna as it was brand new and not hooked up yet but it seemed really nice. We stayed in a 5 bedroom but there was a 4 bedroom next door (connected) where another family was staying. (If you come with a large group, I'm sure you can connect since there was a door inside.)That did not bother us at all, the outside area was very spacious for everyone. You do need a car to get around to get to the stores, although there was a bus stop down the road. I would definitely come back. Highly recommend.

Chalet situé près de la route blanche

Ce chalet est constitué de deux chalets mitoyens. Malheureusement si vous souhaitez être au calme je ne recommanderais pas ce chalet situé près de la route blanche : le bruit des voitures et des camions est en continu. Le chalet est bien équipé, la literie parfaite. Il est agréable aussi car tout est neuf et propre.

Les bémols : une connexion internet qui ne fonctionne pas et on aurait aimé dans cette catégorie de chalet qu'il soit équipé de meubles extérieurs plus confortables pour profiter au mieux de la terrasse. Le chalet Le trappeur bénéficie d'un véritable jardin ce qui n'est pas le cas pour le Vieil ours : la petite pelouse de devant est un chemin de passage pour le chalet mitoyen.

Owner's Response: Chère Jacqueline, merci pour votre commentaire, il nous aidera sûrement à améliorer la qualité de notre chalet qui, je le rappelle, est tout neuf et mérite une période de rodage. Apparemment, la densité de la circulation sur la route Blanche dépend fortement de la période à laquelle vous êtes venue. On dirait que le mois d'août semble peu propice à la tranquillité. Pour notre part, nous occupons le chalet régulièrement et, comme je vous l'avais précisé, nous n'avons jamais vraiment souffert du bruit, même si effectivement, on entend parfois les camions si on laisse les fenêtres ouvertes. Il y a quand même des volets électriques insonorisants dans 90% des chambres. Remarquons également que le jardin et les terrasses ne sont pas de ce côté de la route. A ce propos, il semble également que vos voisins n'aient pas emprunté la porte d'entrée pour rentrer chez eux puisqu'ils sont passés par le jardin. Pour information, il y a une porte d'entrée qui ne passe pas du tout par le jardin du chalet Vieil ours. Il est prévu des plantations pour remédier à cet inconvénient car il va de soi que l'intimité est importante. Nous avons d'ailleurs planté un parterre expressément pour votre arrivée mais bien entendu, maintenant, il faut attendre que cela pousse. Comme je vous le signalais, nous avons privilégié les finitions et le confort intérieur puis nous attaquerons le jardin. Nous pouvons également demander à notre collaboratrice sur place qu'elle précise bien que le passage ne doit pas se faire de ce côté, ce qui me semble tout à fait logique. Concernant le WIFI, dire qu'il ne fonctionne pas est un peu exagéré. Je pense d'ailleurs que votre commentaire a été posté pendant votre séjour, grâce au wifi. Durant celui-ci, nous avons fait changer la boxe. Mais j'avoue, le réseau n'est pas excellent. Il suffit toutefois pour consulter des informations touristiques, envoyer et recevoir des mails. Nous avons néanmoins décidé de changer les répétiteurs car c'est là que se situe le problème, semble-t-il. Pour l'équipement de la terrasse, nous sommes plutôt déçus de votre réaction. Ici, chacun dispose d'une chaise avec accoudoir, la table est énorme et le parasol de grande qualité, sans parler de la vue qui est magnifique. Pour vous satisfaire, nous avons également acheté 2 transats pour votre confort car vous n'aimiez pas les Fatboys, prévus pour se prélasser. J'en profite d'ailleurs pour remercier Mireille, notre collaboratrice sur place, qui a eu beaucoup de patience.

Superb stay

We stayed at the 5 bedroom La trappeur with 5 adults and 4 children from Feb 13-20 and had a wonderful time. The chalet is brand new, modern and very clean. The living by room area was spacious (hard to tell with the photos) We loved every detail in the chalet! The view from the chalet is amazing. You can see Montblanc, Les Bossons Glacier, Aguille du midi etc. The bedrooms are good size, had a huge showeroom on every floor and a small ensuite on the loft bedroom. There is also a sauna which we didn't try because it was still new and seemed like it was not hooked up yet. There was another family staying in the next door chalet but that didn't bother us at all. The garden area is quite big and if you come as a huge party, I think you can connect. Another thing is we had a car so did not have issues going to stores, ski areas etc. There was a bus stop down the road though. So if you have young children, I think you need a car. We had some issue with wifi one day, but Mimi who manages there came immediately and solved our problem. I stay at chalets in Chamonix every year for 8 years now and this was definitely one of the top. Overall I would highly recommend and would definitely be back.
